    Hey brother any idea how long the sway bar end links you use were? I currently have shorter end links already that came in a kit with a stabilizer bar but it seems like there too short. I msged the local seller I got the air ride from and they said they used oem end links so I’m kinda stuck in between… lmk if u can help

    I have a vert with v2 I run the airlines through the car acualy looking what you did through the car was easier lol .. yh the way the lines go on to the bottom of the rear bags is rubish I'm wondering to run braided leader line straight of the fitting . Good video tho m8

      I agree that the way the lines go the rear bags is awful. I don't understand why they didn't have a fitting near the top of the bag to attach the line too. Kinda like how the fronts go into the bottom of the plate.

    Hey dude, what did you mount the tank to? Another false floor or just bolted straight into the floor ahead of the spare wheel well?

      I just drilled some holes thru the carpet there and used some expanding push clips like you would use to hold like a fender liner in to hold it in place. This is a link to the style of clip I used, www.amazon.com/GOOACC-GRC-31-Push-Type-Universal-Replacement-Fastener/dp/B07FVKLYP1/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=fender+push+clips&qid=1606337852&sr=8-5. Not that exact kit or anything. But I had some laying around from a previous car. Its held in place relatively well with those. But that way I can just pop the clip up and remove it if I have to remove the tank for some reason.

    Hello there. I'm all the way from South Africa, people here charge an arm and a leg to install air suspension R35 000.00 (2288 USD). I have a BMW 318i E46 f/l that I would love to bag. I notice buying parts separate and installing it by yourself is cheaper. I have a few questions though.
    1. Do I keep the BMW shocks on the rear and just install the rear bags ? And what's the rear bags called ?
    2. Infront can i get the coilover shocks/struts for the front and mount the bags onto it ?
    3. Considering the fact that these cars are so heavy is the 4 gallon (15.1 litre) tank suitable for my car ?
    This will be a nice experiment for my dad and I , we have all the necessary tools, jacks etc.
    I await your response herein.
    Regards.
    Nico

      The parts I installed in these videos is a kit from air lift performance. It comes with all the parts necessary for install.
      1. You can keep the rear shocks if you choose to. I actually have not swapped out my rear shocks yet due to having to completely tear apart the rear interior of the car to get to the upper mounts. I have probably put around 10,000 miles on it since then and have not noticed any issues. The rear air bags are technically called air springs. In the kit I used the air springs are specifically designed for the rear of the e46 and have the proper provisions to mount the spring to both the car body as well as the control arm to prevent the spring from coming out unintentionally.
      2. I do not believe there is any way to mount an air spring in the front to already existing coilovers. The front assemblies I use are designed kind of like an aftermarket coilover. But instead of a metal coil spring it has an air spring installed in the same place.
      3. The 4 gallon tank has proven to be fine. The tank normally sits at around 160 psi of pressure. I can lift the entire car from no air in the springs to maximum air pressure in the springs and the tank only drops to about 120 psi. This drop will kick the air pump back on and cause the air tank to fill back up until it reaches the 160 psi level again. The only thing I would recommend doing, and I have thought about adding one to my setup, is to go with dual air pumps. You can wire and plumb the system to where two air pumps supply pressure to the tank. This will reduce the amount of time it takes for the air tank to return to the 160 psi mark after air pressure is used. It takes about a minute or so of the pump running to get from 120 psi to 160 psi, and that is just a little long for me.
      Hope this was helpful. If you have any other questions let me know.

      @@MunkysGarage thanks so much will definitely let you know when I have more questions. The complete kit you bought how much was it , when converted to South African Rands ?

    • @MunkysGarage
      @MunkysGarage  3 роки тому

      Doing the conversion it would be around 55,500 rand.

    any issue with the airline smacking the axle when aired out ?

    • @MunkysGarage
      @MunkysGarage  2 роки тому

      No problems at all. Only issue I had was slight contact of the front sway bar end links on the control arms. That was even with shorter links to combat that issue.
