    Nice video up the harbor!
I went in May at East Harbor. Still a little cool . Nothing would hit until I tied on a Black/blue Blue Rock 1099 with a trashy chunk trailer but I was floating around in a 10ft kayak in the west side of East Harbor in the grass area. It's still around 6ft to 8ft. The fish make underwater game trails. Cross the trails the fish will grab your lure.
In the Spring , Bass Guru Josh uses KVD 1.5 crayfish red ,Yum dingers for wacky and of course the 1099.
Matt Bred for Bass likes to use jigs especially Dirty Jigs. That bite was slow, he got the biggest of the day @ 18.50 " . Lately both been struggling till the fall bite.
You need try East Harbor but during the BKFT kayak series top placed finishers in May was at West Harbor not East Harbor. About 90 kayaks showed up 😂

The key to getting bites on my trip was finding deeper water. As soon as I got out of that 3-5 foot of water I got bites consistently especially in that 7-9 foot range. Took me awhile to find that deeper water too. I knew Josh uses a crankbait up there a lot so I spent a lot of time tossing it around and didn’t have a bite. I just had to slow down and I caught fish.

@@740_bass_fishing Yeah He uses cranks till the weather heat kicks in. I would paddle into the middle and drift in and cover more water plus I'm in 10ft kayak lol. When the bass boats speed by I would barely feel the waves. Now double decker inboards creates a perfect storm!

I noticed that they wouldn’t touch moving baits hardly at all. The one I caught on a chatterbait had to have went right past its face. They were crushing the drop shot though so I can’t complain. And I couldn’t believe how big some of the boats were. 😅

@@740_bass_fishing All the kayak tournament folks was always trying the dirty green brownish chatterbaits mostly the Slobber knockers up there. My beliefs are on the 1099 swimjigs

Slobberknockers are decent. I haven’t thrown one in quite awhile because I’ve been fishing the chatterbait elite a lot. The bladed jig I’ve really been liking a lot is the new thunder cricket strike king came out with. It has a tungsten head. That things legit!

I’m looking forward to my next trip! First one was ok but I spent a lot of time just idling around taking everything in and seeing what was fishable water.

This was my first time I’ve ever been to Lake Erie to do any sort of fishing so it was definitely a learning curve. I found a few spots that I planned to check out whenever I get the chance to make the trip back up!
