I started fishing private ponds and occasionally public lakes at a young age with my dad and uncle. As I grew older, I got busier and didn't fish as much as I did when I was younger. I rediscovered my passion for fishing about 9 years ago and a few years ago decided to start an instagram page to share my passion. I now spend a lot of my time fishing public waters and lakes in SE Ohio (the 740). I love the challenge of fishing public lakes in search of big bass!

Fishing West Harbor at Lake Erie During Post Spawn (Multiple Species Caught!)
In this video, we head to West Harbor located on Lake Erie in search of a large sack of fish! We caught fish in almost every way possible from a crank bait, chatter bait, spinnerbait, buzz bait, to a jig and a drop shot! It was an exciting day out on the water where we were able to put a bunch of fish in the boat! We also managed to hook into multiple species of fish during this video. Two of which I have never caught before!

In this video, I'm back on Seneca Lake I found a pattern that I discovered towards the end of summer last year that put fish in the boat, and BIG FISH in the boat! This time around I didn't put many big ones in the boat, but this is a pattern that is going to hold fish all summer long. Multi-Species Day at Seneca Using Overlooked Lure! (MiniMax Chatterbait!)
Переглядів 268Місяць тому
In this video, I'm back on Seneca Lake and recently I've struggled fishing everywhere I've been. I decided that this day, I was going to take things back to the basics of fishing for me. That means getting back to tossing around lures I have a ton of confidence in, and lures that I feel like I'm good at fishing. I had 4 lures on the deck: a chatter bait, a jig, a drop shot, and a spinnerbait. T...

The drum are why I don’t throw moving baits up there. 😂. Next time you’re up there, if the lake allows, make the short run over to East Harbor. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised on the quality of the fish in the grass there and docks. 15-20 lb bags are common.
I can understand that! Catching one was cool because I had never caught one before but after that it was just annoying. lol we thought about going over to east harbor while we were up there this trip but didn’t.
EPIC BREAKDOWN" THANKS! NEWSUB in IDAHO!
Thanks for watching!
Nice Video! Some good actions! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching!
Man put those fish back faster. Other then that great video.
I can assure you that the fish that get put back are doing well and are released healthy. Most of the time what isn’t shown in the videos are if I know fish are going to be out of the water I put them in the live well to get scales/measuring boards out or camera ready. I take good care of the fish I catch.
You know the biggest problem with bass fishing videos? We only see the back of the angler 98% of the time.
I’ve been considering buying another camera or 2 for different angles. The main reason is so you can see cast/cast angle the retrieve and everything.
Another cool video! Good info. I try to that gross matted cover ,not talking about lily pads. Junk in the corners where water is not moving. Run Stanley Ribbit solid frogs w/ Stanley Double Take hooks and make trails in the muck. Bass will crush it! That muck acts as shade. You found a way better pattern than me lol keep the vids coming! Love the hook sets intro
Thanks for watching! That would be a fun pattern! Can’t beat topwater blowups!
Awesome catch dude! I never really fished there but i know how yo get to Burr Oak.
It’s super tough and I’ve always caught fish but struggled to find anything with any size at all so this day was definitely one I was looking forward to.
@740_bass_fishing I know what you mean. I fished that small Ross Lake out of chillicothe for years due it's close to home. Used banks, canoes ,and kayaks. Caught 1 good bass, 4lb 12oz 20". Texas rigged powerbait purple worm
Those small lakes seem to get hammered with pressure. Burr oak has 2-3 tournaments a week and it’s just a tiny little lake. I think that partly contributes to how tough it is. Can’t go wrong with Texas rigged worm!
Congrats! Nothing like upping your PB. Recently upgraded my PB Hybrid Striped Bass.
Definitely not my PB largemouth by any means but the biggest fish I had ever caught on this lake before this day was literally like 2 pounds so it was a serious upgrade and just an awesome day on the water.
Hybrid stripers are fun to catch because of how strong they are and how hard they fight! Congrats on your new PB!
@@740_bass_fishing Thanks!
What was the jig you were using?
I believe it was a dirty jigs Scott Canterbury compact flipping jig in Canterbury craw and I had a green pumpkin big bite baits yomama on it.
Congrats! Gotta love the adrenaline rush on the biggins! Burr Oak is tough but it seems like it may be getting better 🤞 the month of May and early June has been my best luck there.
Absolutely! It is so much fun! And it has always been a really tough lake for me. Those fish take a beating with all the tournaments and stuff going on there. I’m just glad I was able to have a good day there!
Nice Pb! I plan on going there soon. Keep the videos coming. Doing a great job 👍
Thank you sir! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hanging out at the deep edge of that shade line off that steep bank? Nice fish!
Yeah plus there was a deep brush pile that I found in that same spot roughly 3 casts later the hard way 😂 thank you!
Thanks for the review! This was the exact same Rod/Reel combo I had my eyes on. I think it's more of a "Power Finesse" set up
After fishing with it for a few months I will say that I can absolutely LAUNCH a 1/8 oz. Underspin with a 2.8 inch paddle tail. Definitely finesse if not BFS in my honest opinion. I’ve been really satisfied with it
I am primarily a live bait fisherman. Here I fish the Tennessee river system and it is the first week in July. I think for those people who find battling the heat for too little payoff should consider taking a few trips out with live bait. Get you some large shiners or shad, go out and do the same thing you are talking about. Pitching and punching docks, boat ramp and along the shoreline in the morning hours or the evening hours. During the heat of the day go deep along ledges and bank shelf's. BIG bass in my area are feeding and a live shad or shiner will get you strikes that are hard bites, hard hitting and fun. Just in the last week doing this I have caught one 13 pound, 3 in the 13-12 pound range and so many in the 6-11 pound range that I cannot count. I can report that between the 3-5 pound range has been great this year here. On every outing live bait is bringing fish into the boat every year. Many of my trips I have a lure fisherman with me and we fish the same areas floating by and I am always getting fish while they are pitching lures and getting every once in a while fish. I have nothing against lures but I can honestly say when I am fishing I mean to catch fish which I do and not just pitch lures more than catching. So I suggest if you are not catching fish then get yourself a cast-net and grab a few minnows, shad, shiners in yr live well and take a go. You may very well be hugely surprised at the results you find. Either way, live bait or lures, get out there and fish and have fun. Take plenty of water be safe and enjoy nature. You all have a great summer!
Absolutely! As someone who doesn’t have livescope or anything like that I love the challenge of going out and finding fish and then that chess game of trying to make them bite. I enjoy that challenge. Sure there may be days where it’s slow and tough to get bites but when you put a bag together it’s so rewarding. That challenge is what keeps me going on the tough days. That challenge is what I enjoy which is why you don’t see me pond fishing either. I’m not saying that’s not challenging because I know it is but it’s different when we’re talking thousands of acres compared to tens of acres.
Bass fishing are for people who don't know how to fish lol oh boy a Bass lol 😆 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh good one.
Good vid.. gonna try tht wobble head
I’ll be honest I just started tossing it around last year more than I ever had and I caught some BIGS on it! I have a video coming out in a few weeks where I catch a GOOD one on it!
Salt Fork has a lot of white bass in that size range. In the past I have found some big schools in the dam area.
That’s where this was. Couldn’t find them schooling. Just glad I could get my dad on a fish.

Thank you for your continued support and for always engaging in the content! 🙌🏼
Nice fish! I used to do a lot of bank fishing for bass at Seneca. Haven’t fished there for a couple years. Salt Fork is a closer drive for me, been doing pretty good there this season.
I’ve heard a lot of people doing well at salt fork this year! Maybe I’ll have to get up that way at some point on a weekend when I’m over at Seneca.
@@740_bass_fishing I’m a bit spoiled when it comes to Salt Fork, about a 10 minute drive or less and I’m fishing. Have caught some big bass over the years (20” plus) there as well as other species.
Yeah that would be nice. I have one lake within 30 minutes of my house and it might be one of the worst in Ohio in my opinion (Dillon Lake). I’ve heard salt fork has a lot of good ones. I haven’t fished there much.
@@740_bass_fishing I have never fished Dillon.
@@740_bass_fishing Never know what you are going to catch at Salt Fork; largemouth, smallmouth, white bass, crappie, flathead and channel cats, walleye, saugeye and or a big muskie trying to destroy your bass tackle. 😬
Nice video! Some nice bass! Thanks for sharing!

Nice day with the MiniMax! Some nice crappie!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching!

😂😂 tempting!
That’s not a crappie, it’s dinner
It definitely wasn’t a bad sized one!
Nice video brother! I finally got my hands one of these in a "Spot Removal" color scheme. I guess that lure won the kayak national championship last year. The Mini Max is hard to find in the stores
Thank you! 🙌🏼 I don’t know many people who fish chatterbaits in general let alone the mini max. But you are correct! They are hard to find in stores. Most places don’t even sell them it seems like locally.
I thought the Mach skooler had a split tail?
It’s a fork type tail just like a fluke. It’s a VERY small fork so it fishes very similar to a straight tail on a chatterbait.
Totally agree! Its a great bait!
I tossed around A LOT earlier in the year when I was struggling to put fish in the boat and it did exactly that for me!
Nice fist fish for 2024 ! Is that lake in NY? Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! This lake is in SE Ohio.
@@740_bass_fishing Figured it was a long trip for you to go to Seneca Lake in NY!
Yeah that would definitely be quite the haul! This lake is about 45 minutes from my house
Nice video! Good you are back on the fish! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing the baits with us. They look solid.
Thanks for watching! And with the little bit I’ve fished with them they are solid!
Why do bass fishermen use such large rods and heavy line. Would be a lot more fun if you scale down. This wasnt too bad you actually fought him. its when you see guys skipping the fish on top of the water that i dont understand the point of
This rod is 7’ medium and I was using 6-8 pound line on a dropshot. I’ve really been scaling down my presentation this year because the bites been tough. I use heavy line a lot because I hate breaking off and leaving a hook in a fish but I can’t speak for everyone.
net for that is crazy
Light line. Wasn’t worth risking breaking off and leaving a hook in a fish. That’s not how I handle business on the water.
Nice Unboxing! Great haul from Dirty Jigs! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
I always have a spinner bait and chatter bait ready to go, spinnerbait is what I caught my first fish on as a kid that wasn't live bait
Same here! They are both great lures that always have a place in my boat!
Nice stuff!! I picked up some of the Mach hard baits but have not caught any fish on them yet. They look good and look like they are made well. I'm interested to see how the soft baits work for you. Thanks for sharing!
I have a Mach patroller but that’s the only hard bait I have. I like it but haven’t caught a fish on it. I will tell you I used the Mach skooler on the back of the mini max chatterbait over the weekend and it might be my absolute favorite mini max trailer. The only complaint that I noticed is the plastic is a bit soft. Especially in the tail section with all the ribs and stuff it has. I lost a couple of tails catching fish over the weekend but the action was incredible on the back of that downsized chatterbait. It was the perfect size for it in my opinion too. I was really excited for the skooler because of the design of it and how versatile it is.
Cool baits dude! I like those curl worms. Black/blue and purple works great for those super hot days. Seems black/blue wacky was the only thing that worked over the weekend. I was trying everything. Then just went back to the wack and hitting bass . ( kayak fishing in East Harbor )
I like the curly tail worm for sure. Size is awesome in my opinion. I feel like I struggle to get bites on a 10” worm but wish I fished something slightly bigger than a 7”. These are that perfect in between size. I’ve already used the skooler (fluke style bait) on the zman mini max chatterbait over the weekend and it’s probably my absolute favorite trailer for that. The action was unmatched on that smaller chatterbait. It was the perfect fit!
@@740_bass_fishing Wade Garrett won the KBF championship last fall with the Mini Max Spot Removal. Flipping docks
I’ve haven’t tossed around the mini max a ton just because I’ve always had good success on the regular size but I’ve really struggled this year so far so I decided to downsize and I caught some nice fish on it. Multi species too. That video will be out in about a month or so. It was a pretty good day for the few hours I fished!
What lure was it?
6th sense axis
It’s the way we target shellcrackers when they finish in the shallows, cover a lot of ground, Blessup
I was targeting bass with a berkley maxscent flat worm on a dropshot and I can’t tell you how many bluegill I caught on it. It’s crazy but I think that maxscent stuff is just that effective!
