Great fishing experience! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks East!
Friday was soooo much fun out there!
Hey East Tn, I bought 40 acres in Meigs County. We’ll be moving up there in a year and a half. My place is 10 minutes from Sewee Creek boat ramp. What’s some good crappie hot spots??
Nice video, looks like you had a great day.😊
I watch alot of videos from a lot of fishermen. But I truly enjoy your the best. Love the way you set your screen. Would like to see more videos.
Thanks so much Ryan! I'm trying to give as much of an in-the-boat feel as I can with these. I've got another video I'm editing right now, got my microphone issue worked out but wound up fishing near a construction crew and a jackhammer was going half the day so I've still gotta record some new audio for parts of it lol.
I like when you voice over the video better because you explain what's happening and I learn more about what is happening. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Best Livescope videos out there!
Thank you Joel!
Caught my new personal record today and got it on video!!! Will upload that one as soon as I can get it all on here!
16.25 inches and 2.35 lbs!
Nice video, you had some fun!
Great footage. Looks like a great time
Thanks for providing splendid, full-screen Livescope videos for our education and entertainment. I'm a visual learner so your videos are very helpful for me. You have a nice speaking voice with a great delivery so don't be concerned about using voice-over when audio conditions on the water are problematic.
Thanks so much msray! I'm so glad you liked the videos. I hope to go out this week a few days and make a bass video and another crappie video so more to come soon!
I'll definitely be doing more of the voice-over stuff in the future too when I'm trying to point out things that I've learned - or if I keep breaking microphones hahaha!
Hopefully I can still fix enough audio stuff to have the original audio often also. I just love watching the videos with that on-the-water feel! Hearing the water hitting the bottom of the boat, other boats going by, birds squawking away, all that stuff!
Great video you teaching me something I have a 32lsv and um still learning you showing me a lot thanks
Thank you Earnest!
Man I'm so glad to hear that. I had a hard time figuring this thing out when I first got it and set out to make some videos to show exactly how I'm catching fish.
Now if I can just get some days with less wind to go back out and catch some more!
I like watching them hit my line in livescope!
Same Arrigo!
I'm amazed at how many fish hit my splitshot weight, hahaha
Bluegill hit my split shot a lot!
Awsome learning video. You explain livescope very well. Thanks.
Thanks T LeB! So glad the video was helpful!
I like how you have you video set up showing the livescope footage larger than the footage of you. Great Job!!
Thanks Jeff! I couldn't find any videos like this to show family/friends that were asking how in the world I was catching so many fish - so I made some!
So glad you liked it, more to come cause I'm having a blast making these!
This is a great video format. Keep it up and your channel will do great!
Thanks Jeremy!
I'm having a blast making these videos and can't wait to chase after some different species with it soon. The hybrids are biting good nearby so I'll probably go after those soon!
I’m impatiently waiting for my new trolling motor to arrive. It’s killin me to not be out there right now.
Another great video btw. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Joe!
Definitely understand that itch to go fishing if it's been a while! Don't worry though, they'll still be there and ready to bite out on Darbonne!
Your so close to 1k keep up the great work
Great job! With the water warming up I’d love to see you make a shallow water video.
Capt. Vic
Thanks so much! I will definitely be doing that, spotted a few fish here and there in the normal staging areas already so it won't be long!
Last year I didn't have livescope and was able to sight-fish crappie a for few days during the spawn they were so shallow! That was some fun!
Another awesome video thanks for putting these out👌👌😁😁👍👍
Thanks Fredo!
Great Video... Well done... 👍👍👍
Nice video and good comments about fishing on timber! I've found that there are fewer fish on sub-merged timber, but the bigger fish tend to hang on timber versus brushpiles. You can catch the big fish on brushpiles, you just have to weed through the smaller fish.
That's exactly what I've found on Darbonne in the winter time also! Loads of fish out in deep water over structure but the giants tend to stick to the mid-depths around the timber.
You could buy you a floating collapsible wire fish basket and cull your fish. They don't take up any space. $13 I use one when I'm dock fishing.
Thanks T LeB!
I thought about getting one of those baskets last year and modifying it with tighter mesh to store my bait fish that I catch with the cast net. Might have get one this year!
I've actually got a livewell in the boat also, but I just never use it for crappie because the limits are so high here. Now when I chase after largemouths or stripers I do use the livewell.
Very nice LS views, suggest trying some of the fish "in the mud" i have been catching some nice crappie doing that when i thought they were bream, just a suggestion.
Thanks Danny!
I keep testing those bottom fish once in a while but right now all I get on the bottom is those freshwater drum. I bet another 10 degrees and the crappie here will be on the bottom too though!
Im curious how you show the full screen of the graph ect
Great video format! What color do you find works best for these winter crappie?
Thanks Mark!
For color, I like anything where the jig body is one color and the tail is a very different color (dark-color body and chartreuse tail is my favorite right now).
But, more important than color for me is the jig size and profile. I've been using 1.5 inch soft plastics most days or very similar-sized hair jigs when I can get away with those. I'm going to start adding a little blip at the end of each video showing the packages/brands of the jigs I used that day so you guys can grab some if you want them. I don't know if the hair jigs are available everywhere because I buy from some local shops, but you could probably find something similar at a shop near you.
Thank you! Your channel is fantastic and I’m glad I found it. If you think it’s a good idea, I would like to see videos on how you locate your fish especially now in the winter and later when they transition to shallow water. Again, you have the best crappie fishing channel out there!
I like your video’s very much good content. I see your gain at 65 so what are the rest of your setting’s. I am young to LiveScope still trying to sort it out Thanks.
Hey Clifford and Merry Christmas!
Here are my settings:
Noise Reject: MEDIUM
TVG: OFF
Color Gain: Default
Gain: Between 55-70 depending on water clarity (I change this almost every trip)
Color Limit: Off
Auto Depth/Distance: Off
Hey man what are your settings on the live scope? I fish Darbonne all the time and I’ve been having trouble with all the grainy artifact on the screen.
Hey Danny, here are the settings I run:
Noise Reject: MEDIUM
TVG: OFF
Color Gain: Default
Gain: Between 55-70 depending on water clarity (I change this almost every trip)
Color Limit: Off
Auto Depth/Distance: Off
If you get a lot of grain you can try to turn down the gain and make sure all your connections are rock solid. Heard from some tournament bass fishing guys that cheap wires and bad splices can mess up the quality of the picture from this so I used high end wires/connections and soldered all my splices.
Good luck out there and be sure to stop and say hey if you see me out there! I'm the one in the 40-year-old bass tracker that's got exposed wood all over it LOL!

Thanks man! I’ll be looking for ya. I mostly shoot the docks. The wind gives me fits when I’m tryin to snipe em out in open water. Don’t have the spot lock yet. I’m in a camoed Havoc crappie edition stick steer. I’m usually fishin up Corney away from the crowd, but tryin new spots down around Terrel island/Bear creek. 🎣🎣
Are you anchored up or using spotlock? How is it that your boat stay so still for you to see your livestop like that.
Hey combedtortoise,
Have you played around with the "Boat Scale" option in the settings for the trolling motor? It makes a HUGE difference in how well your trolling motor will keep you on a spot.
I have mine turned down to -2 or -3 most days because my boat is much smaller than what the trolling motor is actually rated to pull.
That's something I adjust pretty regularly also. If it's a 10+mph windy day I'll usually go up to -1 or 0 so that it reacts faster/stronger with the wind.
Any chance we can see your rig set up? I see you are using a jig but I keep seeing two returns on your line one just about a foot above your Jig.
Hey Ricardo thanks for watching! That smaller return just above my jig is a split-shot weight I always put about a foot above the jig. It helps it sink faster and can also help you avoid getting hung up since the weight hits potential snags first.
I will post a video of my three favorite jigs soon and show yall what I'm using out there and having success with. It differs from lake-to-lake but I have a few favorites on Lake Darbonne that generally work well.
@@HighQualityFishingVideos thanks!! You know creator's hardly ever respond and you did quickly, I really appreciate it. I thought it was a split-shot but I wanted to be sure.
@@Yupnope1234 No problem Ricardo! I don't know if I'm a real creator yet, but just a guy with an old boat and a gopro lol. But I'm having a lot of fun making these videos and so glad everybody is liking them!
Are you anchored down when you make these videos?
Hey Ronnie, I'm not anchored in these but I'm using spot-lock on my trolling motor to keep me in place.
I do anchor in the summer sometimes when I fish with the submersible lights because the little movement from the trolling motor can scare the fish.
I have spotlock too but I never seems to hold me so tight that my image stays in one place like I'm watching you well done man👍🏼
@@RonnieSprangerJr Ronnie, I used to have issues with it over-correcting a lot or sometimes the trolling motor wouldn't react quickly enough in stronger winds.
Have you adjusted the "Boat Scale" option in the settings for the trolling motor?
I have mine turned down to -2 or -3 most days because my boat is much smaller than what the trolling motor is actually rated to pull.
That's something I adjust pretty regularly also. If it's a 10+mph windy day I'll usually go up to -1 or 0 so that it reacts faster/stronger with the wind.
Thank for replying, I'll give it a go. Ever use other color palettes?
@@RonnieSprangerJr I tried several but settled on the green because it seemed to show up the best for me on bright days. I might try to switch to something less bright when we start night-fishing next summer though.
