The abbey is in a BEAUTIFUL location! I love that part of Britain.
This is so beautiful and it does look very peaceful. I have a hard time not trying to imagine what it was like with people living there. I want to appreciate it for what it is now but my mind wanders to times past.
I completely agree with you, its so amazing to wander what life would have looked like but actually i kinda prefer seeing the ruins how they are, so much for its beauty. Thanks so much for commenting and watching!

I love abbeys. I think they are on of my favourite places to visit. I'm not religious but there is just something about them, more than castles. I really enjoyed your tour of Tintern as there is so much to it. Thank you 🙏

I love all the detail that you showed in your filming! I always look at buildings like that and try to imagine the monks walking around centuries ago... and try to envision what the glorious abbey would have looked like with all the arches and giant windows etc.

We watched this one on the big tv and what a delight! My wife said Tintern plays into the King Arthur legend but I didn't catch if you talked about that. I couldn't find a lot online either. If I haven't said it already, Happy New Year, and we look forward to following your fascinating episodes in the new year!

I dont know too much about Arthur and a relation to Tintern Abbey but i think its more about his linking's to Gwent and he was known as a 7th century chief... Sorry I'm only catching up now ... I often wonder where all the stones have gone .. is it the same as here . They are taken many years ago to build property near by back in the day ?? Fantastic visit and tour .. thank you 😊

Loved it there and reminded me a bit of Whitby Abbey, both of them have so much history attached to them. It makes you wonder, if not for Henry VIII, what these places would have looked like today. No matter, it still is a very impressive sight today, despite it not being as prominent as those Abbeys in the UK. Cheers Alan

An impressive ruin with years of fascinating history! I try to imagine what it was like back in the day.
Its amazing to wander isnt it? I really like seeing Tintern as it is today, the structures are so ornate and beautiful, but in its heyday i cant imagine it filled with people, so cool to think about though!
