Ever since seeing Northlane, I always wanted to try one of these as an affordable alternative to a baritone 7 string tele, but your review confirmed what I thought about that middle pickup. The demo of just the middle would make a cool effect though in the middle of a song. Why does no one use the tone knob? Like, I usually have it all the way up or all the way down because my guitar is shit and doesn't make much of a difference but I'm curious as to whether there's an actual reason for that.
It's just typically unnecessary, at least for the type of music that I play. I can't think of a single time I would ever want to roll my tone knob down at all. If anything I would rather change the sound of my guitar on my modeller, not on the guitar itself.

Can’t get the look and sound of this guitar out of my head. I’d be using it for similar sounding stuff to Deftones, Muse, Korn (maybe) - real dirty almost funk or groove metal sounding stuff. I need something with good tonal and tuning range to mess around with and experiment.
I still love everything about it minus the pickups. I actually finally just ordered a replacement pickup and will be converting it to a single humbucker guitar
Funk/groove metal stuff sounds really cool. Do you play in a band or just come up with stuff for your own purposes? Personally my main instrument is drums and that's what I play in my band atm but I do like to come up with loads of riffs...usually metal inspired but sometimes more rock & funk leaning. Most of my riffs I save for later and just record a rough demo until I am in a position to produce my own instrumental songs...but before I can do that I need to learn more about DAWs/recording, drum & bass guitar programming, mixing etc. and most importantly, get my playing cleaner first, only been playing guitar for about a year, and a lot of the ideas I have are just on the limit or a bit over my ability. Sometimes the guitarist in my band will use one of my riffs if it fits our style (rock/prog stuff) but he usually likes to change it up and put his own twist on it. Regarding the LTD in the video, I think it looks absolutely bad-ass! Green isn't my first choice of colour for a guitar but looks great in that sparkle finish. And there is something about the way it sounds...it's just mean. I've watched quite a lot of Andrew's videos and anytime he uses a 7 string (which is quite a lot!) the LTD always seems to sound the best. He's got a new pickup in it for the more recent videos (I think the Seymour Duncan Blackout mentioned in this video) and it sounds great with that as well. The guitar itself just inherently sounds chunky!
Fishman in over hyped fad product shocker! surprise surprise. Any aftermarket pickup can be made to sound good. Especially through modern high end modellers.
Fishman Fluence is not overhyped at all. The Modern is one of the best pickups I've ever heard in my life. And they're very versatile too which is very important these days. They're the future of pickups indeed
everyone said this about Lace when they dropped the Alumatones or whatever they are called. I grabbed the Xbar and the Deathbar and they were dreadful.
@@lewisstorer89 I know, they sucked. However I heard the Fluence Modern in 3 different guitars I tried at a store (Strandberg Boden Original 7, Strandberg Boden Metal 7 and Schecter SLS Elite) and they sounded perfect to me

What don’t you like about them?
I'd have the new pickguard made with a neck pickup slot and move that mid pickup down
Did you have to cut the guitar? Or was there already space for the neck pick?
Fishman in over hyped fad product shocker!
surprise surprise. Any aftermarket pickup can be made to sound good. Especially through modern high end modellers.
Fishman Fluence is not overhyped at all. The Modern is one of the best pickups I've ever heard in my life. And they're very versatile too which is very important these days. They're the future of pickups indeed
everyone said this about Lace when they dropped the Alumatones or whatever they are called.
I grabbed the Xbar and the Deathbar and they were dreadful.
@@lewisstorer89 I know, they sucked. However I heard the Fluence Modern in 3 different guitars I tried at a store (Strandberg Boden Original 7, Strandberg Boden Metal 7 and Schecter SLS Elite) and they sounded perfect to me
Lewis Storer you can't change the 'feel' of a pickup
The tosin abasi ones are legit. But keep in mind these are the Deftones Guitarist's signature set and he is a bit of a know nothing moron so it's not like they would be great at anything besides emulating his bland one dimensional tone
get some graph tech chops for your clammy ass hands- i love the shit
What are you using for the tone?
Steven?
So um, what's that Ibanez mussugah 8 string in the back doing there? I wonder what that is for ;)
Hey man just curious is it made in Korea or Indonesia? Thanks 🙏🏻
Korea
Damn bought the purple satin. Just got yesterday mine is from Indo 👎🏻

Hey my dude. What amp or amp sim are you running through for this video?
What are your string gauges on this beauty man?
What did you use to get that sick sound? What amp?
Thanks for this man. Ive been consideering this guitar for my first eight string, whats your opinion about that?would it be too much?
Hey ik it's been a little bit but i'm afraid this is a 7 string jordan mayer
Nice guitar

So did the neck pickup no longer work once u pushed it in further?
The output will be a lot lower
What song was that on the demo??
i couldn find : are there there nickle frets ?
What pickguard did you buy to get rid of the middle pickup
Not sure but i'm guessing either a custom ordered one or a tele that he just cut to fit the neck
