My favourite is backstoke but with arms moving like elementary backstoke. Its much relaxing, can keep moving without much arms movement and so less tiring, easy to breath too. Only problem is can't see where we are going.
So glad I found this! I am a recreational swimmer and am not that good at the 4 well known strokes. I always tell people I just like to flail my way through the water. Now I can tell them I mainly do the trudgen and elementary back strokes. 😊 Sounds way better.
I always feel so embarrassed and self-conscious swimming around other people particularly if I'm doing laps in a pool with old people... I do something kind of like breaststroke I guess but I keep my face above water cuz I tend to get water in my ears and up my nose and I can't breathe while I'm swimming without inhaling it...
I had thought that the Trudgen used a scissor kick rather than the frog/whip kick. The combat swim side stroke is not here, and it is faster than standard side stroke. The over arm side stroke is not here either. Dropped from competition in 1900 in favor of the much slower breast stroke because breast stroke was more 'gentlemanly' because there was less splashing. Similar to CSS, but the top arm recovers over the top like freestyle, under arm does breast stroke pull out stroke. Long axis, and if you drop the scissor kick in favor of the flutter kick, it is faster yet. Record, set in 1895 is 1:02.5 for 100 yards. Faster than breast and back stroke, and can probably hold its own against the fly, but not freestyle. One coach tole me it looked like I was swimming freestyle on my side. Pretty close.
thanks a lot for #6 I can't swim but I thought about the movement of it and I swim using that stroke with my life vest while I was doing my kayak capsize exercise. my peers were making fun of me for that, saying that I looked like an octopus
I was looking this video for my daughter she is 5 😊 but I want she learn swimming... So I was looking for basics. And styles I really like the video... It shows the physics technique of fluid to be used during swimming. Thankyou
For 25 years I thought that Trudgen and Freestyle swimming are the same. I thought only difference is when you keep your head down in water and it's personal preference. Because I always saw Freestyle in sports while regular people keeps their head up during swimming.
Back stroke are my favorites here’s a story how: I was at my swim practice and we decided to have a day for different types of strokes so me and the team we decided that we would do back strokes first at the time I didn’t know how to do back strokes so we practiced it for the next ten minutes and then I tried by myself and I was relaxing until I completely relaxed and forgot what I was doing and I fell in the 3 feet water 💦 but just a reminder relax dont slack
The truth about swimming is that you jus have to learn floating and the rest will be doing automatically, after learning floating, the rest of the strokes you just search or copy and I tell you you will be able to make them
I'm 65 and currently using sidestroke, elementary backstroke, and crawl. I do a lap of each six times for half a mile. Three days a week. Loving it!

Yep everything is accurate acc for me too

The issue with that is you burn less calories per time. So basically it's a waste of time unless it's for leisure.
I like it too. Mostly because I’m still learning how to swim and this is the one I’m really good at.

I have a swimming technique that "YOU'VE NEVER SEEN"!
Maybe I'll make a video someday.

Amazing

So good
Me when realising that I've been calling the skills wrong:
I used to hate butterfly but I use it everyday in training because is fast lol
There’s one stroke you forgot to show. The granny stroke. It’s the one I use at home
AND YET! There's a different swim technique not covered!
The UNDERWATER DOLPHIN KICK, CRAWL! (The absolutely best SWIMMING EXERCISE TECH. EVER!)
I'm all ears 👂
There are two types of teachers in the world. Those who call themselves teachers and those who are teachers!

Dolphin and dog?
Breaststroke is my all time pick !!!!!
I’m watching this just bc I don’t know the names in English
Nice but I know only breast stroke 😃
I would never do breaststroke I wouldn't bend my knees like that I would feel stupid
I don't know swimming
Just know that there are only 4 main swim strokes:
Butterfly
Backstroke
Freestyle
Breaststroke
Only first 4 are actual strokes.
No 🙃👎
