He's still young, hits it far. Young guy out playing, practicing with a friend. Talking trash, being cocky is understandable. Pay atttention when he's talking about his swing. He got seriuos. Sounds like he practice a lot to be where he is. Can't judge a character from 1 video session.
Victor talks about left arm getting off the body. I just mentioned the same thing/realization this week! I used to put a glove under the arm pit for connection. What a waste that now I am tying to untrained. Great video! Like his little lag drill.
We appreciate all the effort you, Gabriel, put in your work and we look forward to your watching your videos. Aint I right people? so please don't give up on this for us, your subscribers, buyers, viewers, and fans
dude just watched your Golf channel videos ignore the sad haters who only want to see you fail you have confidence and your Golf swing I could watch all day its so fluid keep up the good work
@Victor holy balls thank you for the tip about moving the left arm up and away from the shoulder. Just kind of messed around with that idea on the range, bc i too was getting into a bad habit of flipping, and it felt really good. Went and played 9 holes and using that idea and hit more consistent shots than i have in good while.
He does have some talent to hit the ball far but looks like that's pretty much it. Idk about making tour unless he really understanding what's real key to be on tour.
To pass the q school, getting precision in the swing is the first job. Victor is already long hitter. But if want one or two on par 5, get the precision like Mr. Ben Hogan. If long hitter, precision is the more important. Many things victor should learn from Mr. Ben's detail.
Hey Gabe, I might be coming to San Diego in March or April and I will be playing every day at Pauma Valley country club. Maybe one day you could come out and play a round with me.
I love it! I like people like Victor. They keep it real and that cocky attitude will mess with people psycologically and make them mad at themselves for losing. The more haters you have the better you are doing what you do.
Dreadful swing but clubspeed and aggression do help consistency. Makes logical sense the ball is interacting with the ground mostly. Less clubspeed means more inconsistencies with the ball contact.
Haters will always hate. I'm a fan. He gave some information that plugged some holes in my swing knowledge base. Thanks to both of you Victor and Gabe.
3rdgroove well said. I don't find him cocky. It seems like he's just got a sense of humor and doesn't take himself ridiculously serious. Which is a good trait in my opinion
Why was it not practical to practice recovery shots from the poor drives, especially on the first hole? That's really what separates the tour guys from the weekend guys. Pros need to recover from everywhere, not sure I understand ur logic gabe
This is not practice its a practice round, playing shots from terrible positions is like saying your aiming to put yourself in tough spots, you practice recovery but in practice rounds your playing for perfection. Planning to fail is negative to performance
Gage Wetzel What Alex Summers is saying actually makes perfect sense, no need to call him a dumbass, but judging by the fact that you have a picture of yourself playing golf leads me to believe you probably play for a high school or some shitty community college, so clearly you know what you're taking about.
***** ahastar1141 CoinDoctor1 This is actually the last hole, hole 18. Also i wouldn't call it a recovery shot but maybe it is, theres really no reason to practice a punch 7 iron that goes 170 for a lay up. It won't give you any information about the hole. From the video you could hear us say its playing 10-15 yards uphill, its also a 3 tiered green with a green side bunk right and hazard left. To hit a shot from the fairway will give us more info on how uphill its playing and what places around the green will be good or bad. The reason you don't practice a punch shot is because its a easy shot and you know you can punch a 7iron with no problem to an easy wedge distance. I just think you get more info out of the hole hitting from the fairway, especially with Victors length, if he hits it in play off the tee, he's going for the green...If he only punches out in practice round, he might not know how far its playing and not know what to hit in tournament. does that make any sense, and really its a good idea to practice both, going for the green and doing a lay up:)
Update: I've gained approx 8 miles per hour with my iron swing. I'm averaging 90 mph with my 6i with good strikes carrying 175 yds on trackman. I'm trying to stay motivated during this Winter season, so that I won't be playing to a 25 handicapp again this golf season. I'm hoping to cut my handicap by 10.
Is it true that Victor's handicap is +4 ? I heard him state that in one of the three videos he is on, on this channel. If that is correct, it is very impressive for a Long Drive Guy!
Yes a 72 is good....but it wasn't good enough to qualify which he was trying to do. I imagine people were at least 6 under or better. Even par doesn't cut it on the PGA much less at a public course which he was at. You ever heard of the phase "Drive for show. Putt for dough"?
Thomas Bennett No merchandise is available right now, i will be getting some wristbands in soon though. Also i was wearing some adicross shoes in this video, thanks for watching!
People are taking what he is saying so personally and seriously. He's just a young guy out having fun with a friend, he knows he's not one of the best players in the world. I found him entertaining.
Doing my best to ignore the "cocky" aspect of his personality and take something away from this video. The one thing I'm taking away is... How to not let something or someone effect my ability to focus on my game. If I'm caught up in what he is doing, I'm not golfing.
Victor wrote this himself under his funndraiser. Sorry Gab but I am not seeing how this would be 'sarcasm' as he is asking for money: "I have been told by multiple people who work with pga tour players my talent is world class and it's not a matter of if I will be on tour but when. I am one of the most accurate long drivers there is. I am a +4 handicap so I am not just a 'long drive guy'". Note, I don't have anything against Victor. I actually enjoy some controversy and arrogance, but to play it off as 'sarcasm' I think is wrong.
***** I like Victor hes a cool dude, its always different in person with some1 then watching a 6min video. He's just messing around nothing to be serious about. trust me i wouldn't hang with him if he was serious, just having fun really,
What is everyone's problem I personally think he's a cool guy so is Gabe ;) and they both have amazing swings also I love how Victor swings at the ball that 7 iron and 5 iron shots just wow!!!
This is two young guys on a "practice" round together. Talking trash and being cocky is understandable. Look when he's talking about swing and his routine, he got serious and have only good thing to say about other people. Can't judge a character from one video session. On a side note I rather have a good short game than hit it so far.
Victor got one hell of a swing. all the people that says hes too cocky need to get a grip. just try to remember how you behaved when you were 18~20ish. most of you probably talked a lot of shiet but does not have the game to back it up. I find him to be more of a sarcastic humorous type of guy AND i want to see Gabe go head to head with him in a legit 18 hole vlog. Make it HAPPEN!
It's not sarcasm, its arrogance and if its "just that easy" why isn't he playing on the pga, plenty of other players were playing in the pga before his age. He completely ruins the videos! He won't improve until he shows respect for the game, you have a long way to go buddy!
Chasing lag and floatloading HARD. This swing will not hold up and is not a way to play good golf. Lag is a byproduct of proper transition and releasing the body properly. Its not something that can be attained by trying to add it. Those that try are chasing a fairytale. I feel bad for people watching this thinking this will help them.
We have too many robots in golf, victor has his own swing and his own personality. Don't throw negativity around like that. There is a lot we can learn from watching victor's swing and positions. The truth is none of you would have the guts to post your swing on UA-cam, and why is that? Because no one wants to see you hammer a 230 yd drive in the right rough and watch you hit a beautiful 170 yd approach with your 3 iron in the green side bunker. Open your minds and give the kid a break.
Brandon Bezzant haha nice comment, it does take balls to put yourself on camera and be yourself. Victor is chill in my opinion, some take him to serious i think.
Dude your griping the club wrong. Your right tumb should point outside not in line with the shaft. You can hurt yourself later in your game. Check some videos of the pros and you'll know what i'm saying. Enjoy the game.
This guy does have some distance, that's for sure! But considering your showcasing him on your channel he's pretty unappreciative and condescending, hopefully he cleans his act up. He'll shoot himself in the foot on multiple occasions and people will simply just not want t work with him, I wouldn't even want to play with him. Golf is a gentleman's game, learn some manners and respect, I don't care how good your golf swing is, it's the principle of it all
Victor Rodriguez's insight from 2:30 to 3:30 is brilliant stuff.
charly yoo Glad you thought so, thanks for commenting and sharing!
He's still young, hits it far. Young guy out playing, practicing with a friend. Talking trash, being cocky is understandable. Pay atttention when he's talking about his swing. He got seriuos. Sounds like he practice a lot to be where he is. Can't judge a character from 1 video session.

leverage11 Thanks ya i think the left arm off is better then on.
Left arm transition advice is really gold nugget.
I read so many articles of K.Miyahira but that lead arm role in transition is key to me.
Thank you.
Glad it helped you , appreciate you sharing!
Love it Gabe. Great content. Loved how Victor talked about how he built his swing. Thanks for the links!
3rdgroove Thanks for the feedback and commenting, glad you like it all!
We appreciate all the effort you, Gabriel, put in your work and we look forward to your watching your videos. Aint I right people? so please don't give up on this for us, your subscribers, buyers, viewers, and fans
Joshua Kim Will Do Josh, appreciate the support and you watching. More vids to come.
Great video Gabe. Keep up the solid work bra!
dude just watched your Golf channel videos ignore the sad haters who only want to see you fail you have confidence and your Golf swing I could watch all day its so fluid keep up the good work
everyones hating on victor, people just dont get his sarcasm.
Dustin Michienzi right, I'm really surprised at the harsh comments, o well...
PureSwingTV
haters gonna hate

Went and played 9 holes and using that idea and hit more consistent shots than i have in good while.
Justin Graham glad it helped, that is a critical information that the handle should be moving up and to the left. Keep it up!
He does have some talent to hit the ball far but looks like that's pretty much it. Idk about making tour unless he really understanding what's real key to be on tour.
Good stuff man
got some comedy in there.
The next time he says 'double-eagle', slap him. It is a bloody ALBATROS!
Crono545 albatros, i like that better!
lag is definitely a big part in my distance atleast, unfortunately i'm still working on rotation. But I like this guy's confidence.
ScratchGolfer72 Thanks my MTi friend!

Antonio Santa theres def some truth to that, thanks for watching and commenting.
I know it's been said before but it really annoys me that he hasn't got his shirt tucked in, bit too cocky for my liking
Liam Prendergast thanks for input.
PureSwingTV it probably isn't the case and I'm sure he's a nice guy, just comes across that way in the vlogs...
Video wasn't enjoyable because of how cocky he is
brian kirwan thanks for input.
Dreadful swing but clubspeed and aggression do help consistency. Makes logical sense the ball is interacting with the ground mostly. Less clubspeed means more inconsistencies with the ball contact.
Andy M not sure i agree with that, but thanks for the input!
Don't think there is enough room in that buggy for you, him and his ego....
Ryan Hickey we made it work ;)
Haters will always hate. I'm a fan. He gave some information that plugged some holes in my swing knowledge base. Thanks to both of you Victor and Gabe.
Ed Floody Thanks, glad you liked it!
Really sorry this guy is so cocky, vlog with blaire
there are more flavors than just plain vanilla :-)
3rdgroove well said. I don't find him cocky. It seems like he's just got a sense of humor and doesn't take himself ridiculously serious. Which is a good trait in my opinion
37zmanlake i agree.
golfmaniac007 thanks, theres some truth to that for sure!
Yeah we want to see more blogs with Blaire or other good golfers :)
Great video - what's in Vic's bag? I saw some Mizuno irons, but which ones?
Why was it not practical to practice recovery shots from the poor drives, especially on the first hole? That's really what separates the tour guys from the weekend guys. Pros need to recover from everywhere, not sure I understand ur logic gabe

Does Victor do any specific work outs or is he basically the human elastic man?
Daniel Eason not sure...
230 5 iron, Illuminati confirmed
Harrison L lol, best comment so far!
What happened to Victor??? Where is he now?
72 and didn't qualify? It just proves distance isn't everything...
Justin Mayo most def true!

This dude is to cocky Gab...never Course Vlog him ever.
1sttim316hj people can change right!
Sure of course they can...but as of right now the guy vic...SUCKS! lol GIVE US MORE COURSE VLOGS WITH YOU AND BLAIR!
Jealous people wish I was as long as him hitting golf balls 🏌️♂️ ⛳️
Hey where can I go to buy the shirts that you were selling last year and the wristbands and all? Also what golf shoes do you have? Thanks :D
Thomas Bennett No merchandise is available right now, i will be getting some wristbands in soon though. Also i was wearing some adicross shoes in this video, thanks for watching!
People Victor isnt as bad as we think he is. He aint that cocky u know

CnCsQuArEdSD i like the attitude change lol, always trying to learn something from every circumstance!
Where is the slowmotion of his swing? I would like to see what he is doing right ^^
Swelex SoSl he uploaded one of himself, search for it on youtube.
Ah okay, thanks buddy

+MulliganMiles lol what a douche, kid is going to have a tough time when he gets bitch slapped by real life.
Was this the pre qualifier from the 17th of January?
Can you use an LD driver in a tournament?
Good god he loves himself! Ditch him Gabe!!!
***** I like Victor hes a cool dude, its always different in person with some1 then watching a 6min video. He's just messing around nothing to be serious about. trust me i wouldn't hang with him if he was serious, just having fun really,
How far is he driving that? All of that movement seems unnecessary if it isn't going a mile.
Mikey Mike he was hitting drives in REMAX over 400 yards....
PureSwingTV Well then, I guess I stand corrected
What is everyone's problem I personally think he's a cool guy so is Gabe ;) and they both have amazing swings also I love how Victor swings at the ball that 7 iron and 5 iron shots just wow!!!
brycerich1 Thanks!
We need more victor on this channel. people do not realize he does not take himself seriously at all in these videos lol. call it camera personality.
What was the winning score and what is his best score?
KM Golf idk honeslty....sorry

chal0072 good call, this is three 10min videos, you should really hang with someone in person before making any type of judgement.
Good player
Where can I get an MTI glove?
Matthew Schawel not available yet:(
Watching again in 2023😎

623baller thanks for your input, i agree with you on Victor, sadly i don't play golf that much n e more at the moment:(
PureSwingTV come on Gabe, i know you are trying to work on that new swing, hopefully we see some later in the year
623baller ill def keep you updated.
Why get upset cos a guy hasn't got his shirt ticked in?! Ignore the haters
Golfguy076 thanks golf guy!
Victor has a very good swing. I like his Krank driver and have been thinking of buying one myself.
Mark Ingram Krank it up!
It's not sarcasm, its arrogance and if its "just that easy" why isn't he playing on the pga, plenty of other players were playing in the pga before his age. He completely ruins the videos! He won't improve until he shows respect for the game, you have a long way to go buddy!

It's a certainty he will never be a tour player, but I think there will be a place for him in a circus. Stick to Blaine he has a chance.

Everyone hate's him because he isn't using a glove on his left hand, clearly the only reason to hate the guy.
=)
LoaforDie lol, how can you swing that hard and not where a glove=)
Great long drive swing, terrible play golf swing.
Wizzy33 thanks for input.
Why do people not like cocky golfers? Please explain? Is it becuase more than half of golfers are over 45 and can't perform this well so they jelly?
I find he's too cocky. Lower the confidence a bit and maybe he will shoot lower scores
Matthew Tse Thanks for comment.
I Couldn't watch the whole video, that's a damn shame.

JPA2000 It looks textbook form.

Shoots 87 in qualifying . Lol. Lies.

Wow I despise this guys attitude and that untucked shirt amplifies it. Teach him how to dress properly Gabe.
Three Jab He's a grown man and can dress how he wishes, I'm not his mom;)
