- Busch Gardens Tampa and Busch Gardens Williamsburg were planning to open two of the most anticipated roller coasters of the 2020 season. Iron Gwazi and Pantheon have been in the works for years and everyone was excited to finally get a chance to experience them in 2020 however recent news suggests that its possible they could be delayed until 2021

I think Iron Gwazi should open on June 18, because that’s the day the original ride opened, and it would be cool to do it on the same day, since we are getting closer to it!
My tear falls into the Rhine river of Williamsburg as I patently gaze at Pantheon, waiting for the gate to open.

Pantheon seems like a really cool and original ride... I fear it's going to get buried with all the Covid stuff and then all the field of "record breakers" that are coming out this year (if they get the gates open this year)... But out of all the cool stuff out there... be it Iron Gwazi, Orion, or even Jersey Devil.... I feel like Pantheon is still the most original of the 2020 additions... aside from maybe the whole "Axis" coaster... which we still don't even know what if any park is going to build one any time soon.
Iron Gwazi was entirely completed and was cleared for soft opening the same day the park announced closure due to COVID. There's no construction to be done. The ride was supposed to open March 20th, there was literally a billboard that went up in Tampa saying "Iron Gwazi now open" that day.
Just went to Williamsburg. Pantheon looks amazing! Can’t wait to see test runs
After learning the Florida parks were reopening, I was ecstatic in thinking that Iron Gwazi just might be the first ‘new’ coaster I get to ride for 2020 right when BGT reopens. Sucks having cold water thrown on that possibility, but you’re right, there will be some delay. And frankly, Iron Gwazi’s reveal to the world deserves better than a park with its capacity significantly limited and everyone looking like they’re surgeons and/or ready to rob a bank
Opening the rides is the best way to get people back to the parks after such a long closing.
We booked our Florida holiday for 2020 and I was worried we would have to go this year because of this but I am so relieved that we can change our holiday for free for 2021
I agree, let's stay positive and support the parks. And give them grace as we move forward. My local waterpark opened last Saturday, and there were a couple attractions that weren't open. I did not complain. All I did was praise them for opening the park, and I was grateful for whatever was open. Some supplies that they had ordered had still not come in yet because of the virus, so they could also be waiting on parts for those closed attractions. We should give the parks grace in those regards, and have understanding for any delays or closed attractions when they reopen.
I do agree and even if people do not feel safe going to a park they can still support it just by staying positive.
I think there everybody is also forget the little pink elephant in the room Ice Breaker, that was ready for tests cycles right before the closures. So two new Florida coaster could open later!
I feel like if BGW opens towards the end of the month, Pantheon will open at the end of August. It’ll be a short run for opening year, but any progress is good! I can’t wait to ride coasters again😭
I live in Tampa and have a couple friends who work in corporate. Iron Gwazi will be open once the park goes public.

If IG opens in 2021, then BGT opens in 2021!!! It’s pretty much complete at this point, and they would want to drive people into the park, so that’s why I feel like they’d open up the coaster in June-July
You ask me, Busch Gardens (and the other SeaWorld parks) are going to want their new stuff (Pantheon, Iron Gwazi, Emperor, even Ice Breaker) open asap. They aren't Disney or Universal, and they know it. While the general populace may be more willing to risk going to the popular parks, the less significant places are going to need something big to convince them that the (unfortunately very present) risk is worth it. However, the optimal time will be hard to say, especially as it is different for every park. They'll want to open them at a time where it won't cause an uncontrollable flood, but it will still heavily improve attendance.
If Pantheon does open this year my guess is that it won't open until late July or August, but I wouldn't be surprised if they push it to 2021. From what I understand there is still plenty of work left. Iron Gwazi on the other hand can easily open this year. The ride is pretty much ready and BGT is open year round.
Given how close Iron Gwazi was to opening before the park closed, I think it will open this year for sure - whether that be late summer, fall, or even winter. But I can easily see Pantheon getting delayed to 2021.
My gut feeling is BGW may try to open at a strictly limited capacity and with new social distancing safety practices sometime around July or August. However, (and I'm not trying to be negative - just realistic) I have a feeling that a second and more severe second wave of the outbreak will leave them no choice but to close again by the fall if not sooner. I wouldn't count on Howl-O Scream happening if it is even able to be open in September. Hopefully, 2021 will bring us a vaccine and an opportunity to ride Pantheon and enjoy our parks again.

I’m thinking it could go either way. Either they’ll delay it for 2021 or they’ll wait until later this year when they’re allowed to open back up.

I kind of think Iron Gwazi is ready to go but wont be open until the park is allowed back open for full capacity.They didn't spend millions to have it open with a whimper. Theyre gonna wanna make a spectacle out of it and thin crowds aren't what they want. So they'll save operating costs on it until they can open the park fully.
Pantheon still needs work so I expect that to open when it's ready assuming its a couple months away after the parks are reopened. Maybe it'll be a Halloween type opening.

I hate to say this, but Iron Gwazi should just wait until next year. The coaster might be ready right now, but most of the general public isn’t ready to come back to parks yet, ESPECIALLY with all of the special rules in place. If they wait until next year, they’d get more people coming out to ride. This goes for Iron Gwazi and Pantheon
I would be completly understanding of this if thats the decision the park ends up making
okaycoasters yeah I agree. It’ll make me sad if it doesn’t open this year, but in my opinion it’s smarter for them to open it next year. I guess we’ll just see what happens

I get it if the park wants to try to prevent huge crowds by delaying the opening, but I think that they will probably just open Iron Gwazi on like a random Wednesday in July or something. That’s my prediction.
Obviously we heard about reopening June 10th, so I think that’s a big plus, cuz those statements were made before this date was set. Still, being open all year, iron gwazi is still more likely to open soon. Just my thoughts

Hey bud... Im not sure if you've done this already and I've just missed it.. but I think you should do a "Top 10 best themed rollercoasters"... I think that you would really excel at it considering how big a part of your style is about storytelling anyway... I just think you'd do a great job at it. I know the Revenge of the Mummy would have to be way high up on that list for me :)

My last day of work before everything went crazy they were already testing iron gwazi so I hope not
I’d be surprised if they pushed them out. They need the influx of people and hype now more than ever. It’ll have a bigger effect in a season now than a future season. I imagine capacity will be increased over the first month and they’d open them up. Hurts too much leaving an investment sitting unused like that.

I personally could see Gwazi opening later this year, but I feel like Pantheon is probably gonna get pushed back until next. I don’t think that one had even begun testing yet 😔 (though please correct me if I’m wrong!)
I think this is the most realistic possibility. Gwazi will probably see some king of delay and the BGW park will probably open after BGT and still not finished with construction. I think Pantheon would be the first of them all to get a 2021 date if any do

They already submitted their reopening request, as soon as it's approved they will drop the date, but it's been requested for June.
I figured they’d open sooner rather than later with Universal opening the beginning of June. Thank you for your feedback here 💯♥️✅

I was looking forward to pantheon, but i understand why. If BGW is still getting drachen spire, then they will have a double whammy for the 2021 season which will help them significantly!
No park in their right mind would open two coasters in one year unless it was a racing coaster. Expect the "Drachen Spire" project to be pushed back as well.

I canceled my cedar point trip for June 15th so I’m bummed either way......anyway I Don’t know if it’s the way you edit your videos and the music you pick/use or your passion talking about coasters but it’s inspiring. Iron Gwazi will most likely be open by the middle to end of June. It was testing already, there is now way they will keep it closed if they open in the beginning of June and need all the help possible to pull hesitant people through the turnstiles.

Since someone somewhere is speculating, yes. In my experience anytime when someone somewhere says something could be delayed that necessarily means it will, and I am more certain about that than whether or not I will ever die one day.

Disney just announced when they plan to reopen the parks. Hopefully other parks will keep up with the outcome and follow suit.
I would ride Untamed, Kärnan, Helix and Wildfire this year
I think they've gone too far in the construction process that they won't do that. I believe it's safe enough to continue with building the projects and I don't think they'll want visitors to be disappointed to come to the parks only to not have the opportunity to experience their new rides. It's obvious the company may have to deal with setbacks as a result of what's going on right now and I think the only thing that might get postponed will be the new Sesame Place that is supposed to replace Aquatica San Diego in 2021. I bet that could be pushed back into 2022 instead.
Gwazi is ready finished tests and will be open on opening day. Only thing is with the reduced capacity and the hype for it they expect not everyone will get to ride, they may decide to cash in and not include gwazi in general admission and up charge to ride it for 1st few Weeks. Think it is ice breaker that is the least likely to open as the Orlando park is the one that relies on foreign tourists most and there aren't going to many at all this year.
Busch Gardens Williamsburg is my home park. I am so excited for Pantheon. I really hope this does not happen.

I'd expect Iron Gwazi open in early July. The ride was ready to open before the parks closed they really just need to choose a opening date.
I’m scheduled to visit both of these parks this summer, so this is making me lose hope that they’ll be open
With SWO submitting there opening plans by the end of the week I think that should give us a good idea of what the chain plans to do based on how Icebreaker is treated.

okaycoasters I really hope it does, I’ve been watching Gwazi since the uproar and twisted tigers name trademark like two years back. Maybe they’ll do a soft opening until they can safely do a grand opening at full capacity
I'm hoping BGT opens Iron Gwazi this year. I used to go to cedar point all the time up until 3 years ago when I moved to Florida. Unfortunately I am still a RMC virgin since Steel Vengeance was created after I left. Was super stoked about the project and hopefully will still be my first RMC experience.
I expect Iron Gwazi to open in 2020 since it is a year round park. Pantheon may be able to open in 2020 as well, but it may be less likely since BGW is a seasonal park.

As sad as it would be, it probably would be better to delay until 2021. The 2020 season will be a very different season from past ones, meaning that even if we have to way, the experience will be probably be much better come 2021. The biggest question I have is what parks will actually open for the 2020 season. I know a few are planning on opening, but bigger parks in highly populated areas will have a harder time reopening this year I would imagine. I guess it's all just waiting to see at this point.

Very unlikely gwazi will be delayed by much. It was done, testing, and workers were riding before the great bogeyman was unleashed. The ride already about to open so it would be a poor idea financialy not to ride the attention or funding cuased by its opening.

As much as I don’t want them to get delayed I feel like they might. These rides were designed to draw huge record breaking crowds and that is not possible right now. It might be better off waiting for them to get the big crowds and huge profits.
I can completely understand this too if it does indeed happen. I will still support the parks either way
