And that's why Mami Tomoe is my favourite character. She was hopeful veteran and even she was the saddest and not the most depressed finally, she was able to being happy for her true friends.
Mami's death and everything leading up to it was such a beautiful set up for the rest of the series. She's dancing around all happy and confident with her spirits lifted by the idea of not being alone anymore. Her happiness leads to carelessness leads to death which leads to despair. It sets the tone beautifully and subconsciously introduces the audience to the cycle of joy and despair that's later explained by Kyubey in the whole entropy/thermodynamics "explanation".
She's so cute, kind and incredible character. She doesn't deserve the jokes, and it's amazing how she coped with her loneliness by becoming a good person. That's what makes a human being great, getting the best out of your worst experiences. I can identify with her... sometimes I feel so lonely. Maybe that's what makes me like her.
Mami is seriously the most underrated Puella magi Character. nobody remembers her, it's only because of that head scene she's memorable. While yes, she only does a few things to progress the plot and they didn't expand on her character much, do *not* tell me you don't want to have that awesome theme song AND the power to pull rifles out of your ass. Mami's wish was: "I want to live on." "Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Different Story" She was talking about it when Kyouko had asked her what her wish was. She says that her family died in a traffic accident. She regrets the wish. Mami states that she knew the troubles from the first year. Also, Mami did not defeat Charlotte in all the timelines. Sayaka Miki had saved her in the first timeline. Mami wanted to go after familiars and witches to save every single person she could.
I swear the death of Mami hit me hard, I couldn't stop crying for a whole hour, I got very attached to her, her kindness, & to see her terrifying death, it was by far the most horrid thing ever, I love her, she's the best female anime character ever to me.

In my opinion, it's extremely sad....look at it this way, she finally has friends, people she can fight alongside, people to help her keep her soul gem from turning into a grief seed....she been alone this whole time, living by herself, not to mention what happened at the moment she actually became a magical girl...and then she dies in an abrupt and quick way (She didn't even get to die being valiant!), literally crushing the idea of magical girls right before Sakuya and Madoka's eyes, on top that, they're watching the new friend they just made die right in front of them in an extremely gruesome way and all though they hadn't been with her that long, they made a really strong connection with her.....Sayaka and Kyoko...they died, but they died as friends understanding each other over time....Mami....she died with nobody to shoulder her burdens the way Kyoko did for Sayaka and vise versa. I also noticed that everyone makes head jokes, but her torso is what was actually bitten.

They seriously should have made the anime serie at least double as it was (24 episodes instead of 12),so they could have develop more all the main characters instead of only highly focus only Madoka and Homura(Sakura also gets really little space in the serie compared to how deep her character and story could have been). This is one of my favorites of the OST. The song is unorthodox in it's mix of triumphant chanting with the quick action beat, but it is the harmony that really makes it for me. The song also fits the character beautifully, starting as a bad ass battle theme and ending on a more melancholy note.

Man, coming back to Madoka Magica would be hard. I have yet to re-watch any anime, nor continue ones that I just found out had recent continuations; Idk why, but I have never done this ever since I began watching it. But, ever since I have had nostalgic attacks lately thanks to Madoka Magica and some of its scenes and story, I actually might make it the first anime that I re-watch and newly-watch its movie continuations.

When I watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica for the first time, I knew exactly what I was getting into. I knew how dark it truly was and still watched it. It starts out all happy magical girly.. then episode 3 (aka Mami's Death episode) It all goes to Hell.. I still loved it and would gladly watch it again.
This is without a doubt my favorite of the character themes. With Mami being tied with Homura as my most favorite character of the cast. It's so sad that her time in the show was so brief.

There is going to be a total of three Madoka Magica movies, with the first two retelling the series and the third being a sequel to the show and former two movies. The first two have already been released and even premiered in select theaters in the United States while the third is in production.
Mami is definitely The True of Magical girls even she's an imperfect character, I will always support this character to have more love because all she wants is just a friend and love. She deserves it more than just a head jokes, fanservices, Tetris memes or even the worst criticisms about her 💛💛💛
I agree that it didn't feel different at first. I sort of watched the whole thing without feeling much, none of the plot really hit me as surprising. Later though, it hit me pretty hard. I won't exaggerate like many saying it changed my life, I'm not even sure what it did, but it did something.

I loved Mami, she was such a sweetheat and kind spirited. All she wanted was to not be alone. I hate when people make jokes about her death. Besides it was her death that changed the entire shows story and atmosphere. I feel like Mami deserves more love, she's MY best girl.

Man, coming back to Madoka Magica would be hard. I have yet to re-watch any anime, nor continue ones that I just found out had recent continuations; Idk why, but I have never done this ever since I began watching it. But, ever since I have had nostalgic attacks lately thanks to Madoka Magica and some of its scenes and story, I actually might make it the first anime that I re-watch and newly-watch its movie continuations.

When I watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica for the first time, I knew exactly what I was getting into. I knew how dark it truly was and still watched it. It starts out all happy magical girly.. then episode 3 (aka Mami's Death episode) It all goes to Hell.. I still loved it and would gladly watch it again.

I agree that it didn't feel different at first. I sort of watched the whole thing without feeling much, none of the plot really hit me as surprising. Later though, it hit me pretty hard. I won't exaggerate like many saying it changed my life, I'm not even sure what it did, but it did something.
