- This is Credens Justitiam or Mami's Theme song from Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (Puella Magi Madoka Magica).
It is sung by Yuki Kajiura and the language is Kajiuran. It's a made up language that Yuki Kajiura uses for her own personal use in a lot of her songs that apparently no one else in the world can understand. It's a mix of Japanese, Latin, and other European languages.
Since this is a fake language there are a few different versions of the lyrics, these where the ones I thought fit the best

flutter bat well, she didnt have time to build up and she really isnt that powerful. as far as i can tell your wish has to be something huge to get anything out of it. she just wished to live. so in the grand scheme of things she was fucked. and her whole confidence was just a front so really her potential in the show was limited. the guy who wrote it planned the fates of all the characters out before giving them names. so just imagine mami as madoka.

Probably its happy because it was happening before the true nature of the show has been revealed.
In retrospect it just makes it even sadder. The song makes you feel: you are safe now, Mami's here, everything is going to be okay...
... and then you remember that suddenly, nothing was okay.
And that's why Mami Tomoe is my favourite character. She was hopeful veteran and even she was the saddest and not the most depressed finally, she was able to being happy for her true friends.

She's so cute, kind and incredible character. She doesn't deserve the jokes, and it's amazing how she coped with her loneliness by becoming a good person. That's what makes a human being great, getting the best out of your worst experiences. I can identify with her... sometimes I feel so lonely. Maybe that's what makes me like her.

Mami's death and everything leading up to it was such a beautiful set up for the rest of the series. She's dancing around all happy and confident with her spirits lifted by the idea of not being alone anymore. Her happiness leads to carelessness leads to death which leads to despair. It sets the tone beautifully and subconsciously introduces the audience to the cycle of joy and despair that's later explained by Kyubey in the whole entropy/thermodynamics "explanation".
Mami is love, Mami Lifee!.

Mami is seriously the most underrated Puella magi Character. nobody remembers her, it's only because of that head scene she's memorable. While yes, she only does a few things to progress the plot and they didn't expand on her character much, do *not* tell me you don't want to have that awesome theme song AND the power to pull rifles out of your ass. (OK, I know she hasn't done that in canon, but considering the even weirder places those things have came from, I wouldn't doubt it.)
They could've kept her around a bit longer so we could see her backstory it just seemed forced when she died in episode 3

Usagi Tsukino The fact that you're missing her shows they played it just right. The whole point of her character was to be the stereotypical Magical Girl type character. One who fights the bad guys and wins with little or no trouble. Until BAM, she dies a random senseless death, completely throwing you for a loop.

Maybe it wasn't the saddest death ever but seriously everyone cries buckets for Sayaka and Homura forgetting that Mami was one of the most tragic characters in the series and all people do to honour her memory is make bad head puns.
In my opinion, it's extremely sad....look at it this way, she finally has friends, people she can fight alongside, people to help her keep her soul gem from turning into a grief seed....she been alone this whole time, living by herself, not to mention what happened at the moment she actually became a magical girl...and then she dies in an abrupt and quick way (She didn't even get to die being valiant!), literally crushing the idea of magical girls right before Sakuya and Madoka's eyes, on top that, they're watching the new friend they just made die right in front of them in an extremely gruesome way and all though they hadn't been with her that long, they made a really strong connection with her.....Sayaka and Kyoko...they died, but they died as friends understanding each other over time....Mami....she died with nobody to shoulder her burdens the way Kyoko did for Sayaka and vise versa. I also noticed that everyone makes head jokes, but her torso is what was actually bitten.

She was talking about it when Kyouko had asked her what her wish was. She says that her family died in a traffic accident. She regrets the wish. Mami states that she knew the troubles from the first year. Also, Mami did not defeat Charlotte in all the timelines. Sayaka Miki had saved her in the first timeline. Mami wanted to go after familiars and witches to save every single person she could.

Because in PMMM Portable she was saved by Madoka in the first timeline.

Even in the flashback in episode 10 when she dies, there's isn't much pathos, just "she just died, let's go back worrying about ourselves now", just sad!

Have you read the manga "The Different Story" yet? It's probably one of the best official PMMM mangas and uses Mami and Kyoko as the main characters.

Finished reading, well, a pretty good one indeed. They seriously should have made the anime serie at least double as it was (24 episodes instead of 12),so they could have develop more all the main characters instead of only highly focus only Madoka and Homura(Sakura also gets really little space in the serie compared to how deep her character and story could have been).
Great anime of only 12 episodes....meanwhile Naruto have something like 300+ episodes with a ton of boring fillers while One Piece with his super-slow pace is near the 700 episodes[!!] mark, crazy....can I have 700 episodes of Puella MM instead? -.-

I swear the death of Mami hit me hard, I couldn't stop crying for a whole hour, I got very attached to her, her kindness, & to see her terrifying death, it was by far the most horrid thing ever, I love her, she's the best female anime character ever to me.

I loved Mami, she was such a sweetheat and kind spirited. All she wanted was to not be alone. I hate when people make jokes about her death. Besides it was her death that changed the entire shows story and atmosphere. I feel like Mami deserves more love, she's MY best girl.

This is one of my favorites of the OST. The song is unorthodox in it's mix of triumphant chanting with the quick action beat, but it is the harmony that really makes it for me. The song also fits the character beautifully, starting as a bad ass battle theme and ending on a more melancholy note.
They were head-ed in the right direction when they composed this piece.

according to the creators mami was one of the strongest magical girls in existence at that point in time and the only reason she died was because she froze up when her dream of friendship looked like it was going to be over, its actually heavily speculated mamis wish was to not die alone so when she discovered friendship it was all over
I remember how epic that fight with her and the monster was! Still one of the most fluid anime fights I have ever seen in a long time.

Man, coming back to Madoka Magica would be hard. I have yet to re-watch any anime, nor continue ones that I just found out had recent continuations; Idk why, but I have never done this ever since I began watching it. But, ever since I have had nostalgic attacks lately thanks to Madoka Magica and some of its scenes and story, I actually might make it the first anime that I re-watch and newly-watch its movie continuations.

This song is my favorite out of all of the magi's themes. WHY DID SHE HAVE TO DIE, AND IN JUST THE THIRD EPISODE(I'm never going to get over that). She's my favorite character, with Madoka coming in a very close second.

When I watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica for the first time, I knew exactly what I was getting into. I knew how dark it truly was and still watched it. It starts out all happy magical girly.. then episode 3 (aka Mami's Death episode) It all goes to Hell.. I still loved it and would gladly watch it again.

The whole reason for Yuki Kajiura inventing "Kajiuraese" in the first place was she wanted a vocal component for her music, but did not want to attach extra meaning by using real words, which in turn could dominate the piece and distract the listener from the music.

By the way, Mami (and Kyoko) fans should definately pick up the "Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - The Different Story" manga. It tells an alternative timeline story of Mami if she didn't turn into a light snack.
Come to think of it... It's just a great manga period Fantasic art work and style that keeps faithful to the TV series. So google it if you're a fan of the series.
