Those decoys are too expensive to poke holes in. A drywall screw would rust, come loose, and then one day you go "ouch God damnit" look down and your paw is bleeding. Or the dog.
Speaking of decoy hacks, I'm absolutely brand new to waterfowl hunting this year. I purchased a couple dozen Flambeau Masters Series mallard decoys. The problem is, I failed to realize that there's only one place to attach the Texas rigs I plan to make which is on the front of the keel. Any ideas on how to modify half the decoys to be rigged from the back without wrecking them? I'd like to not have all the decoys facing the same direction. Any help would be appreciated.
Started out many years ago with Bigfoots then switched to Dakota fully flocked and bagged them then a few years back switched to DSD’s bagged for awhile. I’m done bagging just takes too much time and I can tell the guys I hunt with are annoyed. I just don’t throw them around and try to be somewhat careful. And when I want a big spread I add in silhouettes.
It’s all about gettin ready for this coming season! I so can’t wait! I only got a few things left to prep but focused on gettin my channel editing right before the opener is my top priority! 😁
You could also use grey color Vulcum in caulking cartridges. It dries under water and is great adhesive so you really couldn't put too much on and doesnt matter if they are dry or not (it may also come in black. If you want it dry take heads off for drying faster.
Well you just made me think about getting all my Decoys down from the Garage Attic . Thinking about that`s going to be a job I have . Woodies , Green wing , Blue wing , Coots , Mallards , Ring Neck .
And when you get those icon Tees made up in red and purple heads, Is there some other shirts color other than white? Maybe , yellow, hunt orange, KSU purple, sky blue!
Yet another "why didnt I think of this" moment. Ive got some older GHG floaters that I cant keep the heads on. Even a light drop and they pop right off. Looks like ill be swinging by the hardware store tonight!
So what was the hacksaw for?
Why not just run drywall screws to hold the heads in place?

Nah.the drywall screws work great.

How is the glue holding up? I might give this a try thank you!

As much money as we spend for decoys you’d think the companies would already do that
If they could, they would. The shipping costs would be so much more because the boxes would be bigger
@@OutdoorLimits and some hunters want to stack them more compact also.
@@teekay1785 there's other decoys that do make one piece full bodies, you just see the cost go way up
@@ghosttrain456 Yes I know
