The cook in me says, of course temper the egg. I've always thought of soap making as cooking goodies without adding the fat to the butt. And, if I were making a custard or pudding with eggs in it, I'd temper the egg for smoother result at the mixing. So I get why to do that. Next up for me... egg soap!
I anticipated tempering however; when you talked about separating like behavior I wondered if emulsifying the eggs in the fats and oils would help with incorporation. It would necessitate soaping at almost room temp, I think. Anyway, I was happy to see such a smooth hand feel, not unlike adding silk.
Oh Mrs Soap & Clay... you had me laughing like a cackling fool all throughout this video. Headphone on and I was busting the gut just roaring with laughter, hubby across the room looking at me the fool. That soap is FABULOUS!!!! I absolutely LOVE the color, and the swirls OMG, C'est TRES magnifique!!!! You have mastered the uncurdled egg soap!!! I was expecting the curdled eggs, the seepage, and all the oh-no's as you mentioned, but nay, they did not happen!! You were right! It all worked out fine!! Those bubbles were like the best ever bubble blowing solution you could ever dream of as a child... you know what I mean? Ever get that one bottle of bubbles with a wand that was just the best bubbles ever? That soap reminds me of this!!! WOW!!!
I watch a rather well known chicken lady on the east coast who also makes soaps. First off, she never ever shows the process of making soaps, so thank you. Anyhow, she made soap with the eggs from a specific hen (sadly passed away) and I always wondered how the process would go. Thank you for sharing!!!! I truly mean it! So interesting!
So question… first of all this is beautiful great job! Did you subtract this as part of your oils or did you add it like any additive such as clay etc.?
Licking the beaters was the best thing ever when I was a kid. It was the 80’s and we didn’t care about raw egg. We didn’t have protein shakes. We had a glass full of raw eggs. Salmonella? never heard of her!
This was intriguing. Now I have a new thing to play with some time. And I have to wonder if the Egg Beaters product works or if it has food additives that are not soap safe...
The only Cinnabon FO I've found said that it performed terribly in CP, maybe it wasn't even skin safe. Hmm. This is lovely. I eat all the eggs. So many. So great. Thanks for the test. Hooray!
Will it shorten the “Shelf-time” for the finished soap, when you add eggs? It looks great by the way, and it will be in my next batch :-) thanks for all your content.
So mold and nasties don’t tend to grow in or on soap - the pH level is not conducive to that. Shelf life shouldn’t be shortened, but as this is my first time, maybe I’ll be surprised! 😂
I did not expect eggs to work out as well as they did especially when the batter started rejecting it. For a second I thought you were going to have an egg volcano.
Don't understand why there is a dislike in this video LOL, it's a test that everybody has wondered. I will try for sure!! It turn out beautiful. But what about the smell?
So I have two things to mention about eggs 1-raw egg whites put on a burn will take the burn out right away and heal it so fast. I can attest to that. 2-my favorite egg breakfast is when I have left over prosciutto wrapped asparagus and I cut it up and saute with some onions and then add scrambled eggs 😋❤🤤
Eggs are my most favorite thing on the planet. Also: I just had prosciutto wrapped asparagus yesterday and it was incredible. Would definitely be good in a scramble!
My oily face bar has eggs, honey, baking soda, aloe, ac, and tea tree in it and every single time I make it and pop it out of the mold, it smells eggy but it goes away during the cure. Curious if yours did as well
I honestly thought this was gonna be gross. Totally wrong. That was some serious bubbles. (I thought I missed something last night. Glad to know I wasn't crazy) I loved thiS!!!
@@MrsSoapAndClay no worries. You gotta live too. Sorta figured there may be somewhat of a delay due to the holiday which is totally understandable. It's a big party day. We floated on thw lake all day. Been camping for a week. Home sweet home now. 🏡

Recently made my first egg soap. Used the whole egg, too. I'm totally in love with it.
Love using eggs in my shampoo bar. Great video and intro as always! Wow bubble attack!!!! Those eggs are super cute!!!!

Auntie Laura brought a Swedish's soap with eggs in it for my mom when she came back. My loved it. - Timo

Yay you tried it!
Great job beautiful soap. 🙂
Beautiful bar!! Mine will look more like scrambled eggs! 😭😂
Wow those bubbles
So fun, right?
Thank you for this video. I have been toying with the idea of using eggs. Real cool!

Holy bubbles, Batman! 😲 that lather is amaze balls!
Egg soap is fun. Thank you for the video.
Also I love that you use a coat hanger instead of a store bought hanger swirl tool 😀
I mean, it was right there. No sense buying something I already have. 😂
Happy 4th or 5th it’s all good. I use eggs in my shampoo bar & I really like it for my hair.
Nice bubbles❣️

I dunno! I’ve never bought any egg substitute or dehydrated egg product, so I’m not sure what’s in them. If you experiment, let us know!
Can’t wait to try this in my hot process. I’m sure it’s just like making creme anglaise…. ;)
I love that !! 😍💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

You should try tomato soap… tomatoes are great for your skin
Question: how many times did you have to retype “soap” from “soup”, because autocorrect obviously thought you meant tomato soup? 😂
@@MrsSoapAndClay lol heaps …. I make tomato soap btw using organic tomato paste but would love your take on this. Love your channel btw
@@susannestephens2073 - I've made tomato soaps by pureeing the tomatoes, chilling the puree and then adding the lye.

Mine did not smell like eggs, but I did scent it with some baked goods type scents, so that may have overpowered the eggs.

Really? What are the benefits of that thing?
