Oddly enough, no one has made a Killzone 1 Weapon Showcase of any quality. The only two others out there are of people recording their TVs with a camera, one of which with awful music blaring. So hey I made one! I streamed all of Killzone 1 to my twitch and will be streaming through both Killzone 2 and 3 this week so come give a follow and hang out! www.twitch.tv/jarek4gamingdragon
Didn’t play this game until somewhat recently. KZ3 was my first Killzone game. Loved it to death. When I finally played KZ1 it became my favorite. This game could use a serious remake from the ground up with new mechanics. I made a whole Reddit post expressing my thoughts if you are interested: Killzone 1: Remake or Remaster? What would you do? If KZ1 were to be remade or remastered, how would you want it to be? Just to be clear: a remake means changing, adding, or even subtracting elements from the original game. A remaster is simply a 1 to 1 remaster of the original game just with better (modern) graphics. Me personally, I would want a complete remake. Change up the layouts of the level, but keep the same general ideas, settings, and locations. Cut some sections that feel repetitive, but add on to areas that fell flat. I would love to see 4 player CO-OP/split screen as an option. Have each player take on the roles of Templar, Lugar, Rico, and Hakha (this would mean introducing Hakhan way earlier though). Maybe have class specific abilities for each character that work in tandem with each other to encourage teamwork. And of course…MORE MUSIC!!!! I love the Killzone soundtrack. The first game desperately needed more music in a bunch of areas. For example: In the mission Misty Waters, keep the idea and setting of the level exactly the same, but open up the arena. Have tense-stealthy music play as you and your squad moves through the swamps on Helghan territory. Make the play space less linear, have multiple attack points, and implement a mechanic where you can crouch under water to use stealth to your advantage; maybe make going under water a class-specific skill for Lugar. You could have Rico place under water depth charges (bombs) to blow up Helghan Attack boats as a class specific skill. This would make CO-OP play extremely engaging as one person could play as Rico to set up depth charges and another could play as Templar to lure the attack boats into those depth charges. Just some food for thought? I’d rather have a complete remake that respects the foundation than a straight up HD remaster with modern graphics…even though I whole-heartedly love the original KZ1 for what it is! What about you guys?
I remember playing the offline multiplayer against bots. 😂 That was legitimately the most fun I had along with SOCOM on my PlayStation. Man, things were so much simpler then. :/
Jeez these comments make me realize others had similar experiences. It's crazy we all actually played this game back in the day. I'll admit I'm a late bloomer in gaming (didn't truly start until around 2009) but I'm just glad I got the chance to play titles like these. My friends don't even know what Killzone is at all... Depressing, really. At least we got to fight the Helghast on an old box TV and a hand-me-down controller from our older brother lol.
Unfortunately Killzone will never get any attention or popularity unless they release to the larger audience, there are other platforms that can heavily increase the games popularity.
What I love in this game is the sounds of equipping the weapon, reloading, fire, explosion sounds. The ambients with sound of winds, amazing atmosphere! My favorite game fom PS2
I've never really seen this game before, I've heard of it but never had the time to check it out. But damn this has some of the best weapon designs I have ever seen.
The best Killzone. I loved playing the multiplayer with bots and the player 2 on. Guerrilla should consider bringing back the franchise someday They could finally do a game about the Helghast or a 4 playable characters again.
This game has good reload animations for a PS2 game. I remember playing this game with my brother, we had unlimited ammo ON and spammed the enemies with explosives and killed ourselves lol.
Still one of my favorite games ever. Also, that mobile revolver-fed howitzer is so badass, I used to call it the "Cash Register" because it used a big lever to load another round and the pinging noise it made when you reloaded it.
My first PlayStation2 game. Got this in 2005 together with my PlayStation2 console. If only i could turn back time, back then when i didn't have anything to worry about in life.
The Killzone series though basically ww2 in space with space nazis/communist bad guys and space USA/UN (or something like that..) and other space stuff. (did I forget to mention it's a little space ww1 too?) It was and STILL is a favorite series of mine when I was younger I'd definetly thought it was one of the coolest new (at the time) shooters out there and eagerly awaiting KZ2...but after that as I got older and experienced more stuff I could see why Killzone was never THAT popular or understood some of the criticisms. *Sure it has it's flaws but I'd still recommend for anyone to play the whole series. (including the none console and rts games)* I hope one day to see the devs or even some other studio revisit this setting, I still believe it has potential! Maybe with a (relatively) few rectcons and changes to the lore to better flesh things out, heck they could even reboot the whole series like what was done for wolfenstien and DOOM. Just please, PLEASE to whomever does try and tackle the revitalizing of the Killzone series; don't make half the cast forgettable or unlikable! (looking at you Rico..) That doesn't mean I'd want to make the Helghast or ISA become something entirely different but more well...fleshed out, better motivations, more behind the scenes stuff. Also maybe *showing more of the UCN (United colonial nations), the governing body of most of earth and it's MANY extraterrestrial colonies, whom are also the ISA's parent organization via the United colonial army. (the ISA's boss)* ) There's a lot that could be done...it's not like there was much there at all to begin with... XD ...But anyway I like this vid and it reminding me why I'll always have a special place in my heart for this shooter. Thanks!
Dude I remember playing the hell out of this game when I was a kid on my PS2. Id always play bots on Multiplayer everyday. The Campaign was difficult, but it was great.
That fucken Sniper scope, why like? To me this game was next gen at the time. I just felt so immersed in it, even thou it was buggy, its got a special place in my memories. Just one of those mega games you read years before it ever comes out on some ps2 magazine. Every mega game that was a game I'd remember for life.
Honestly that scope has been my biggest gripe since the game came out, the idea comes from anti-glare optics, which use a orange filter to cut down on vision impairment, unfortunately in game it made it very hard to actually see enemies in full light. I think it was honestly an oversight, ironically the SMG suffers less though in bot matches it got painful since once they were alerted you were effectively screwed as no matter where you went they now knew where you were. I got mortared to death more than once due to a single missed shot.
I got curious and looked up the M66SD just because I always remember it being a cool design, then watched this to hear waht it sounded like. Ended up haibng a bit of a memory trip, all the times my older brother and I would play this on his PS2 against bots as well as the campaign. That sniper rifle, the M224, the M66SD, those things were so damn cool. Younger me even thought that the grenade "cooking" indicator was extremely cool. Mind you, even then this was no "Halo killer" to me, I played CE on PC 100s of times MORE hours than I'd ever play Killzone (mainly cuz I never had a console) but still some fond memories
kz1 has the best weapon design in the series imo. I think the guns get overly complicated and the designs are too busy in the later games, but they look so good and realistic in the first game.
The game controls were horrible but everything, in my opinion, made this game one of my favourite. Playing it in the PS2 with a friend was more than enough to make my say xD
Big recoil from Captain Templar's assault rifle and from any other. But still a good game, boy The splits screen was also good, even my sister from that time got mad at me for using the Helghast machine gun killing her in every 1v1. Those were good times. Good times.
I wasn't expecting you to play Killzone and I was hoping for you to do a weapons showcase for this and I can't wait for you to do the samething with Killzone 2 and 3.
This game was my childhood, then it was halo 3 and lost planet 3, I remember playing against my da and he cooking the grenades and I didn't know how to do it ahahah
TheJonesChannel11 I don't know. I game on the Xbox One with friends, but I recall there being a HD remake for ps4, pretty sure it's the 3rd game, id look it up if I were you
They were, KZ has always been visually stunning series with a surprising amount of attention to details, coupled with some decent storytelling, which sort of explains why Guerrilla turned out two incredible games on PS4, 3 if you don't mind KZ Shadowfall (which is where a lot of the bug fixing for Decima seems to have occurred to turn it into the workhorse engine it is now), Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West.
I distinctly remember playing and beating this game; and I remember that bullets are precious and running out of them was fear inducing, especially since if you were playing Hakha, playing him spawns more Helghast and they are tougher on purpose. This is compared to Rico; who yes more enemies spawn while playing him, but Rico can beat most missions without running out of ammo
I remember to get the “throwing” animation for the FSK Fury you needed to have damaged the enemy a bit, otherwise triggering the melee attack would result in you just swiping.
This saga of games is between my Bucket List alongside the PSP version Liberation. But I admit that the first one is like the one I see the most interesting of the bunch because of the many details and animations for a First Person Shooter PS2 game.
Animations and stuff are WAY ahead of their time. So fluid! A little clipping here and there but the frames are all so well put together. The sound on the otherhand.. Oof. I mean I guess it's not that bad, but there's no bass to them and the audio quality is awful. I imagine a remaster with some tweaks and bass would make these guns sound like some of the best in the video games industry.
Man I’m surprised they made a ps2 game look this good. Guess you just gotta give it to the right dev and they can somehow pull off some black magic with their platform of choice.
By ps2 standards Killzone had the some pretty smooth reload animations in its generation. Shame i never played this nor the second game. I got into Killzone by the 3rd outing and Shadow Fall. Online in both were crazy.

only two others out there are of people recording their TVs with a camera..if anyone does that then thats amateur.
Think you can reupload this showing all the weapon melee animations? Thanks
Man jarek I'm glad you did this video because this was my favorite game playing on the ps2 I loved the whole series.
The melee animations are too janky for that. Most of the time they don't work.
You playing this on an emulator or on a actual PS3 remaster?
This game holds a special spot in my heart, the first Ps2 game I had
Killzone 3 was the reason i bought a ps 3. Shadow fall was also my first ps4 game 😅😂
Me too
Same
I played like 1 hour of this online for the ps2 as a kid at my friends house and it has been engrained in my head ever since
Didn’t play this game until somewhat recently. KZ3 was my first Killzone game. Loved it to death. When I finally played KZ1 it became my favorite. This game could use a serious remake from the ground up with new mechanics. I made a whole Reddit post expressing my thoughts if you are interested:

Say what you will of Killzone as a game but you cannot deny it has some of the best weapon designs in the whole of the medium
Good weapon design and most importantly each one felt completely different.
Design sure, sound? No.
sound wasn't bad though in my opinion anyway
I loved the game like its weapons
I say this as an Xbox owner, i am so so jealous of not having Killzone. So today, i bought a Ps pro and bought killzone 😂😭
I remember playing the offline multiplayer against bots. 😂 That was legitimately the most fun I had along with SOCOM on my PlayStation.
Man, things were so much simpler then. :/
i had both of those games
rip my ps2
Shit, same thing to me.
Sometimes i used to play just vs the player 2, was so tense that the maps seemed a away bigger than they was.
Damn, I remember SOCOM too when it was huge back then. I miss the old days
Staying up all night playing the offline multilayer... Boy, those bots could take a whole lot of bullets.
Jeez these comments make me realize others had similar experiences. It's crazy we all actually played this game back in the day. That time again folks, incase people needed a timestamp with full game names:
0:06 - ISA M32 Knife (Helghast FSK-7 "Fury" Knife not shown, basically same animations)
0:17 - ISA M4 Semi-Auto Pistol
0:30 - Helghast IvP-30 Tropov Machine Pistol
0:55 - Helghast BP-02 "Pup" Grenade Pistol
1:10 - ISA M66-SD Submachine Gun
1:39 - ISA LS13 Shotgun
2:01 - ISA M82 Assault Rifle w/ underslung grenade launcher
2:37 - Helghast Sta-52 Assault Rifle w/ underslung shotgun
3:17 - Helghast Sta-3 Stova Light Machine Gun
3:35 - ISA M224-A3 Heavy Support Weapon
4:07 - Helghast Sta-52 SLAR
4:46 - ISA M327 "Thumper" Grenade Launcher
5:06 - Helghast PnV3 Siska Squad Cannon
5:24 - ISA M80 Rocket Launcher
5:43 - Helghast BLR-06 "Hadra" MRL
6:03 - BDL-23 Dovhat Laser Designator
6:18 - M194 Fragmentation Grenade
Swear, I used to make replicas of some of the guns out of big Lego blocks when I was younger. That's how much this awesome game had an impact on me.
They need to make a remake of killzone 1.
they did, but only a HD remaster on PS4
Unfortunately Killzone will never get any attention or popularity unless they release to the larger audience, there are other platforms that can heavily increase the games popularity.
I'd prefer a better Killzone game.
What I love in this game is the sounds of equipping the weapon, reloading, fire, explosion sounds. The ambients with sound of winds, amazing atmosphere!
My favorite game fom PS2
2:37 - 3:16
The *STA-52 Assault Rifle* will always be my favorite.
This made me oddly nostalgic because even back then I used to just appreciate the reload animations as a kid. Great times!
Damn your right bro. That’s crazy that you said that
I've never really seen this game before, I've heard of it but never had the time to check it out. But damn this has some of the best weapon designs I have ever seen.
My favourite ps2 shooter after Black, thanks for making this video about it
Noodle One Jesus you remeber Black??!
Noodle One That was the first ever game I played, then came Killzone 1
@@t-60powerarmor5 Black more like Battlefield 3 without multiplayer, was my first game too
The best Killzone. I loved playing the multiplayer with bots and the player 2 on.
Guerrilla should consider bringing back the franchise someday
They could finally do a game about the Helghast or a 4 playable characters again.
This game has good reload animations for a PS2 game. I remember playing this game with my brother, we had unlimited ammo ON and spammed the enemies with explosives and killed ourselves lol.
Ah good old memories. Thanks for this vid!
Good Ol Killzone
Still one of my favorite games ever. Also, that mobile revolver-fed howitzer is so badass, I used to call it the "Cash Register" because it used a big lever to load another round and the pinging noise it made when you reloaded it.
Yet, still not as lethal as the cash register in 'Open All Hours'.
If you know, you know.
Such a great game that I’m surprised got so far in the gaming world.
Hey do a vid on the Ares VZ 58 Long
So I don't feel dumb for buying it.
Pls thanks
Fancy seeing you here
this game was so special
My first PlayStation2 game. Got this in 2005 together with my PlayStation2 console. If only i could turn back time, back then when i didn't have anything to worry about in life.

I remember playing this game online on my friends ps2 in grade 8. The rag doll physics were hilarious
I cannot understand why they took away the alternative fire from the weapons in the sequels :(
cause money and work
That Silence SMG is the best SMG ever.
Charlie Hunt yea, maybe like 10 years ago lol
the feel and look and sound and animations of the guns in this game are the best
Man I loved this on ps2 my favourite fps game man the good old days nowadays fps games suck
Killzone's weapons remind me of the guns from ALENS, especially the Helghast Sta-3 Stova Light Machine Gun and the ISA M4 Semi-Auto Pistol
This game is so nostalgic for me.

Rico's HMG have one the best melee attacks i ever see. He hits and lifts Helgan...BY THE GONADS
Well yeah cuz he's Hella racist to the helghast even the dude who half and half he still offends him
0:43 lol how does he spit the casings
Yea its magic
I've always preferred the StA-52 Assault Rifle.
I love the detail they put with the Sniper Rifle: the only way you can aim is looking through the scope
3:17 OK definitely based off the Smart Gun from Alien. Well that or the basis of the Smart Gun, the MG42
Man,that minigun thing weapon that also fires fucking ROCKETS was (and still is) my favorite weapon from all of videogame media
We made fun of these reload animations because the screen simply MOVED a little....oh how things have changed.
This game was for the ps2? NO WAY!
zombie eibmoz It was but it didn't run very smoothly.
Killzone always had great graphics but shit FPS
Man that Shotgun means Business,
I remember that Antitank Rifle thing being my Fav
Always loved the reloads in Killzone
I remember how much I abused the silenced SMG when I was younger 😂
0:40 i always loved that gun and its reload dont know why
Cause its satisfying and smooth as fuck :D
Wow, that's a lot of guns
"That's tax-payer's money, man!!"
That Siska Squad Cannon ❤
This game was the first fps i ever played and will always hold a place in my heart and a good enjoyable game
This game was so scary to me when I was a kid.
I don't care what the reviewers sid, this game was awesome and based af. Just ordered a copy off eBay for the old scrounged up PS2.
I got curious and looked up the M66SD just because I always remember it being a cool design, then watched this to hear waht it sounded like. Ended up haibng a bit of a memory trip, all the times my older brother and I would play this on his PS2 against bots as well as the campaign. kz1 has the best weapon design in the series imo. I think the guns get overly complicated and the designs are too busy in the later games, but they look so good and realistic in the first game.
The game controls were horrible but everything, in my opinion, made this game one of my favourite. Playing it in the PS2 with a friend was more than enough to make my say xD
Slow, but not horrible. Definitely better than most PS2 shooters.
Supercyzer no doubt
beachead all day with my brothers, with that orange sniper, oh boi
Big recoil from Captain Templar's assault rifle and from any other. But still a good game, boy The splits screen was also good, even my sister from that time got mad at me for using the Helghast machine gun killing her in every 1v1. Those were good times. Good times.
Better weapons than KZ2/KZ3 and shadow fall
Haven't played this game in so long. I love this game
Been so long not playing this game wish i could go back to play it btw that intro make me feel good
AYO HOL Up ur profile pic is starco
Hizkia Pangkey Heyo we got a Starco fan here
Come on man
I wasn't expecting you to play Killzone and I was hoping for you to do a weapons showcase for this and I can't wait for you to do the samething with Killzone 2 and 3.
This game was my childhood, then it was halo 3 and lost planet 3, I remember playing against my da and he cooking the grenades and I didn't know how to do it ahahah
I'll florever love and think of this as a great shooter since i first played it
This game has some really cool weapon designs
The game has some cool looking crosshairs.
i love how the shotgun is just a fucking futuristic half life spas
Me and my cousin would always play this split screen.... Sigh, I miss this game. How'd you play it?
PS3 HD version. There's also a 3 in 1 disc that has Killzone 1 through 3.
Are there any versions for PS4? I have a PS4.
@@TheJonesChannel11 I don't believe so.
I'm sad now.
TheJonesChannel11 I don't know. I game on the Xbox One with friends, but I recall there being a HD remake for ps4, pretty sure it's the 3rd game, id look it up if I were you
My absolute first serious game, I ever played. Killzone beholds in my gaming heart, the special #1 place 💜❤️
3:16 and 5:06 are my favorites :)
For a PS2 era fps, these animations still look amazing.

Hey the missileluncher is laser guided
the guns animations and sounds were so ahead of its time in this game
And most of the Sound effects for the reload animations believe it not were made by Office Items like a stapler.
Say whatever you want, but the feeling of using the dovhat laser designator for the first time was intense.
Holy shit I never realized the not-Spas 12 uses the similar sounds as the Half Life 2 not-Spas 12
Killzone 1's M82 IS simply art.
Looks better than new vegas
Oh I thought it was cut content 😭
I remember to get the “throwing” animation for the FSK Fury you needed to have damaged the enemy a bit, otherwise triggering the melee attack would result in you just swiping.

**pth pth pth**
"That is the most silent gun that I-
**PEW PEW PEW PEW**
"Oh nevermind."
I always liked to use the shotgun in multiplayer (with bots) since even the sound of reloading it is the definition of POWER
This games so hard to finish it but AWESOME
Those are some good sounding office supplies
are you going to do all the other killzone games?
All these weapons and IMFDB wouldn't even make a topic about it
That's kinda sad I mean a Bullpup AR!!!
Best killzone hands down.
damn this is a 14 year old game and the animations still look crisp as fuck
That Bulpup reload looks more awkward than anything.
These guns would fit in the Total Recall universe.
Some of guns I’m like wow they’re awesome
I remember when this game was new, the detail on the reload animations was amazing but also gruelingly slow.
wow thanks i totaly forgot about them
Grenade was way ahead of it's time
Nostalgia
Only real guns in series
Music to my ears.
Man I’m surprised they made a ps2 game look this good. Guess you just gotta give it to the right dev and they can somehow pull off some black magic with their platform of choice.

Shame i never played this nor the second game. I got into Killzone by the 3rd outing and Shadow Fall. Online in both were crazy.
This is an obvious question but Im still gonna ask anyway, did you use a ps3, or an emulator on PC to play/record this?
Favourite PS2 Game
So many memories
I love killzone but i miss playing killzone 3 on my ps3 until it broke
I do miss the old days
