I just received a MSI Stealth 16 AI Studio A1VHG-027US 16" UHD+ 120Hz Mini LED w / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 12GB GDDR6 (Core Ultra 9-185H & Windows 11 Pro). Just getting acquainted with it...
@@ResidentO I ran FurMark 2.3.0.0 for half an hour on it to stress test the 4080. Yes it did get hot. Max temps: case bottom 63C, 63C exhaust from top vents also; and the fans did get loud. However, under normal use and gaming, I hardly hear the fans. Normal temps CPU 61C GPU 51C. Overall very happy with it.
Hey i just purchased the standard version 16" may i ask how you got the keboard illumination to look white? When i try to change the color in the steel series app the white looks purple. Am i doing something wrong lol?
I am looking for a laptop with a 4k with 120hz, OLDE with more than 400 nits, or a mini LED with high brightness +600 in SDR, is there a laptop with one of these 2 options ???? Maybe the new MSI studio AI A1V ?
Could you give some tips on how to get good battery life. My system only last about 3 hours when browsing 😢. And your does the unit sound distorted when u nahimic is enabled. I want to know because my units sound quality degrades when I use nahimic.
You might want to try to run your notebook only with the GPU if you have that option, reduce your display brightness, put it in any form of battery saver mode in the manufacturer control software, close any background apps you do not need and lower your refresh rate if it doesn't happen automatically.
@@NotebookcheckReviews Hi thank you very much for your reply. Could you elaborate when you say 'run your notebook only with the Gpu' is that an option in the msi centre?
I always felt like car collab parts like this were a waste of time because usually they were nothing more than 'this is the red one'; having logos and stuff cut into the actual metal seems like it means something this time. Not in the market for one of these though :)
For the games I play most, Single player ones, the OLED is a hard sell... I prefer a better screen and more color accurate . And then you have content consumption... and then, o boy, all the FPS cannot catch up the quality of OLED
The potential battery life improvement of the 2024 model is hard to ignore. Plus you can now get up to RTX 4090 with the newer one too. Unless you really like the AMG styling I would go for the 2024 model
I was really impressed by the 2024 models at CES, and since we haven't been able to get those yet, I wanted to see what the old ones can do. I am also pretty excited about the 16" with the 4090 and the MiniLED panel!
Well, actually, from our testing, battery life is a bit more of a mixed bag than a black-and-white situation, and AMD's Zen4 chips run mostly hotter than their Intel counterparts.
@@NotebookcheckReviews Thanks for the info! which last gen CPUs would you recommend that combine both battery life and performance? I dont need crazy performance but decent enough. Compared to core ultra it seems much lower last gen. Maybe some models you could recommend from last year?
The AMG version is for a completely different audience with that 4k screen. It's for professional photographers, videographers, or graphics designers. I'd imagine AMG engineers would want such a screen for viewing car parts
We have to agree to disagree, @@andyH_England - Even with boring things like Office and Photoshop, the smoothness and visual pleasure of 90+ hz compared to 60hz is noticeable and impactful. Once a person uses a faster screen, it is VERY difficult to go back to 60hz garbage.
@@ktbpylon I would agree a higher refresh rate is always better for a desktop display. For laptops, there's trade off for price, availability and most importantly power consumption (aka battery life). Right now, 4k 120Hz laptop screens are expensive and consume too power for average users. I'd imagine as the tech develops and it becomes cheaper, more laptops will adopt higher refresh screens
While a Stealth 16 Studio with a 4090 was announced at CES, those still need to hit the market. In contrast to the Legion 9i, the GPUs will be limited to just 105W. So it is a different class of devices, and you will be very happy with your Legion! ;)
The normal and AMG versions are completely different laptops designed for different people. Stealth is such a strange choice for a collab
Very true.
And thanks to you, I recently decided on the Aorus OLED 16 and bought it at a very good price. Intel 13th gen is still a great performer.
Nice! Enjoy your new notebook!
Happy Holy Easter
Enjoy your holidays!
Any chance of looking at MSI stealth 14 2024? :)
I will see what I can do!
Any chance of looking at MSI stealth 16 studio with RTX4080 2024? Maybe the new ULTRA processor will have better battery life?
I am dying to get my hands on one!

Very nice! Do you have any plans for latest xmg core/fusion 15? I am considering it for a compact yet upgradable laptop
You bet, testing a early fusion 15 sample, and its awesome!

Hi, are you planning to test MSI Sword 17?
Where are white versions? There is zero availability in my country only blue ones
Good question!

Yeah, the new Stealth Studio might be an option, or the Razer Blade 16 or Asus ROG M16.

DOA. Doesn't even use OLED on the regular model. The zephyrus G16 has been out for a month now.
Not everyone wants an OLED ...
Can you do a full review like this for the razer blade 18 mercury 4090? Thanks:D
