Fiddling with mine at the moment, thanks for the Footswich tip, through an old power mixer and 12" full range speaker and a bit of Reverb it sounds huge, enjoy !
Glad I could help! I am findind now as I try to use this drum machine, the lack of a settable tempo is a real drag. I will hand it off to my grandkids to play with, and go to a software based drum solution for producing music. Best wishes. Mike
Hi BM84! Welcome to the Guitar journey. I hope you will give yourself time to enjoy each step. the painful ones lead to joyous ones if you stick with it! The drum machine is a nice addition, it can inspire you to try different styles of playing. Happy picking! Mike
Thank you. I was thinking of getting one for a friend who plays accordion. He does old time music, waltz, Bossanova, etc do you know if this can be programmed for those styles and 3/4, 4/4 timings? 🤔
Hi David, the unit can be programmed for any beat you want, but I find programming it very difficult. I would not recommend this drum machine for your friend unless he has a passion for binary programming :)
Great video. Thanks. I am thorn between this one and Alesis sr16 - I like this one more however… lack of tempo awareness pulls me towards alesis. That tempo knob is giving any feedback or something? Trying to find metronome replacement and it seems to be difficult to track bpm with it…. F.ex. Practicing 100 bpm and changing to 105 or 110 - will Korg respond to that? Or knob travel would be to narrow to make that adjustments? What’s your thoughts on that? Cheers
I have the SR 16, I had this about seven years ago. Actually, you can see the tutorial I did that has thousands of views. If you want a cool Battery beat machine. Find an old bass version of the Vox AC2. better sound. Better beats. But if you’re going for something more serious, get the alesis
I fully agree with Mr.Chopemup I am giving this KR Mini to my Grandson to play with, without the tempo control, and with the difficultie customizing new patterns, it does not suit my needs for a guitar training drum machine. Thanks for watching! Mike

Are the jacks only pedal inputs? Or can it be used as an output to a speaker?
The jacks are purely for pedal inputs. There is an audio mini plug for output, I have not had any luck using that, mine is distorted.
Could this be used to play rockabilly?
It could sure be worth a try, you can program any beat into it you want. Have fun “Messin’ with it”. Mike
Excellent review. May i ask can you put this through an amp?
Thanks for your question. Yes there is a 1/8" Headphone jack that you can adapt to play this through an amp.

@@MikeMesseswithMusic The new successor to the Mini, the Korg KR 11, has a display for tempo.
