Great to hear about all these improvements. I've got 16 gigs or ram in my old rig so I should be ready for the full grid of 48 cars though I've heard there is a way to use cheat engine and some other program to get up to 60 or more cars on track.
The problem is less getting many car on grid than keeping the sim stable, especially in multiplayer. You can do tons of things tweaking around. But if you can only race for 5 minutes before it all goes kaboom, that's not what you want, right?
LMU almost as expansive as iRacing? That's totally not right. 😅 4 tracks and 13 cars are 46 euros in LMU and about 200 euros in iRacing. 😅 excl. the monthly fee. 😅 The pricing is OK. It's not cheap, but also not very expensive.
While it's not "anywhere mid race", only on pit stops, I very much understand - especially in Endurance races. I think no other sim has had it since GTR2, but I'll let the comment section correct me anytime...
@@WromWrom The lack of any meaningful single-player modes is the biggest one for me, and probably many other people. I uninstalled after I lost interest in the one single player mode that's available. LMU consistently has the lowest number of concurrent players of any comparable sim, so it's probably doomed to failure.
Do you know if the improved UI will be part of the 1.6 update or is that slated for later on? I detest trying to select a car in AMS2 as it's a broken system. For instance when viewing the 200 or so cars by alphabetical order there is no scroll slider. If you want to select a VW you'd need to scroll down the entire alphabet from A to V, which is a painfully slow process. This is atrocious although not a bad problem to have (am I really complaining the game has too many cars?!) As far as I recall from Pt1 update news, you will be able to hide away cars you don't want seeing all the time or have no interest in racing. This will greatly help. Also hope that there will be a way to separate mod cars from stock ones (same for tracks). Love the game but really hate the UI. Fingers crossed 1.6 will make life easier for those wanting to drive a VW or Toyota, or any vehicle high up in the alphabet.
They not said much about it other than what you already said. Maybe in part 3 of the Dev update? I think you will be able to even hide whole classes if I remember correctly. I don't think Reiza is going to care about mods tho. The communication with mod makers is (sadly) rather lacking.

Thanks for the kind words! I fear Renato is a difficult man to reach. We've been trying for years. It seems he doesn't have neither the time nor the will to sit down with UA-camrs. There are a couple of interviews out there, but they are few and far between. We are in contact with some of the developers, who gracefully answer our questions when there's something we don't quite understand, but that the max reach we have, sadly. We'll continue trying, but don't hold your breath...
Where am I lamenting the dying of a niche hobby? And 10 EUR/USD for 2 cars and a track is clearly overpriced. Check out the AMS2 DLCs and you'll see some studios can deliver excellent quality AND quantity for excellent prices.
@WromWrom Well, you always compare with AMS2... We know already AMS2 is the exception of the bunch, even if it sells the premium tracks each for 9 euros... So 1 track and 2 cars for 12 euros is not that crazy. Even so, if we exclude AMS2, the pricing is on par with any other latest dlcs for the bigger sim racing games... 3 cars in R3E costs 11 euros. 1 track, even being nords, costs 13 euros for ACC. Lets not even talk about iracing and rennsport (which is kinda crazy!)... So, yeah, not really fair comment, and the quality of what they are delivering until now is indeed very good. And just found it crazy to say the physics are on pair with RF2 even before 1.6... but yeah, just my opinion, like that one is yours... 👍

You don't think the LMU physics are good? I liked them a lot! I already protested the price of the Raceroom tracks. And very much so Rennsport. I think the pricing in ACC is better, and let's see how ACE will go. But the sim is not even out, so it's too soon to be even thinking about DLCs. I'm of two opinions on comparing with the DLCs (or packs) from other sims, as they inadvertently collude with the pricing, as when one sim sells a DLC at high prices, the others my be more willing to follow. But of course no sim is an island, so we should look around at who is wanting how much money. I'll keep that in mind for the future.
AMS2 is quite pricey compared to ACCs DLCs, butbalways fair. LMU sadly still got OG RFactor Bugs and now they are going same overprived DLC route as before. Glad there are better sims which actually always work in multiplayer.

And btw: You'll get the BMW Hypercar and two GT3s for free of you're an early access supporter.
Which is only important IF you care about GT3s. And as this is a class taht is everywhere, I don't really care about GT3s anymore.
Well, kinda. Still don't like the pricing tho...
What kind of current cars should they add as a Le Mans game? Indycars? 😅
@@ScholliUlz Good point. But still, them gifting me some GT3s does not move me.

As a father of 6 month old, i will pay $100 just for save mid race single player feature, AMS2 is a big fail in that.

Why do these cars look like they're floating above the track in the AMS2 update section? You can see shadow beneath the bottom of the tires.
because some update had this issue in the beta, it has been already fixed. ( bad video choice i'd say )
