In the 70s when I was in primary school these danced were the hit and very popular in Uganda because Idi Amin loved Scottish culture, and Ugandabs loved these danced too, we called them country dances and we loved them as much as we loved our own traditional dances but when he was overthrown they were banned which was really sad. I am glad to see this one today, brings back good memories of my childhood.
Excellent investigating! Yes, I'll second your conclusive findings. Also, I really enjoyed listening to and watching Katy Adelson's violin artistry of Tommy Tarbukas on her UA-cam channel. Thank you for the information!@@hawkcawcaw
My ancestors were the MaCleods! On my mothers side. My great grandfather was Duncan Macleod. My great grandmother was Sarah Macleod. They migrated over to America and settled in Spokane Washington.!
PRECIOAS LA DANZA Y LA MÚSICA. MUY PERO QUE MUY BONITA. QUÉ PLANETA TENEMOS TAN BONITO Y CON EVENTOS MARAVILLOSOS. ME SIENTO CONTENTA DE VER Y OIR COSAS QUE SI NO FUERAN POR INTERNÉT, NUNCA LAS HUBIERA DELEITADO.
The history of the Scottish Dance is marshal. You danced over the weapons of your defeated enemies. Be very careful if you describe this as men in skirts!!
Can anyone please provide some background on this? Is there a Scots community in Hungary that I wasn't aware of? Are there historic cultural ties between Hungary and Scotland? Why is there a Scottish dance club in Budapest?
Quite a few issues to deal with there Thomas. Do try to sort yourself out. This is a fantastic dance. Great music. Interesting and precise movement. Nothing not to like here.
Lovely dancing and what a magnificent floor!
Thanks !!! This my favorite country dance. I'm from Brazil, but I ' m feeling like born above your culture!!!
I remember dancing this decades ago at my local Scottish country dancing group in New Zealand. A lovely memory, thank you.
Wow, this tune is awesome and the dancers are perfecto!
I love how men look in a kilt and are so light on their feet.

Brilliant choice of music for this wonderful dance!
Divinely danced, the musicians are superb, and the venue is beautiful! A spectacular video!! ❤
I loved the music as well so I went looking - the song is actually a recording I believe, it's called Tommy's Tarbukas by Alasdair Fraser!

Echt klasse!
I was thinking the same thing.
Fabulous
JUST wonderful!!!
Thank you that was really awesome.
Australia ❤️

MAS O MENOS TE ENTIENDO AUNQUE NO SABRE JAMÁS INGLÉS. TUS ANTEPASADOS ERAN DE ESCOCIA. APRENDE LA DANZA QUE ES BIEN SENCILLA.
Are the Macleods the biggest clan of Scotland ? Maybe I'm wrong
nice work, bravo !

Why did this make me tear up ❤ I have a longing for my culture which I feel so distant from
because it's so powerful and rich and something to be proud of

Nagyon szép mozgás, gratulálok.
it is very satisfying, how you move !
Que bonito .😊☺️
So good to be reminded that there is more to Hungary than Orful Orban. Good Luck to Peter Marki-Zay.

I would hate to have to sit and watch others dancing when I would love to dance!! Ceilidh is for dancing, not for watching!!
Do cool. Men should wear skirts more often. Kilts for all!
when women dance together it's so beautiful and nice but when men dance together it's ewww or gay that's my opinion

Narrow minded
Ok then wee Thomas, say that to a battalion of Māoris while their blood is still coursing from a Hakka …… Go on, go on, I dare you.
