My favorite features is BY FAR the Game Seed feature. Its so unique and houses a ton of potential for AI games, UCP testers, for a future replay mod and probably many more things. I am so happy i can use that now!
Since people from community and others are constantly making those patches and updates to AI and so on, I think that the game needs a patch/update for the size of maps. 600x600 and 800x800 dimensions should be added. Even 400x400 maps tend to be too crowded/small when all 6+ players are on the field.
Agreed, but it won't be happening. The code we have to work with has the map size hardcoded in hundreds of locations, finding them all and updating would take years. It would be easier to make a whole new game. At least that's what I'm told. Apparently even firefly with access to the source code says it's far too hard to do, they would have to rewrite half the game to do this.

It's such a pity that the developers didn't recognize this flaw when they were first making the game two decades ago. I mean it happens far too often that AI simply won't play the game or can't finish the castle (Wolf, I'm looking at you) due to lack of space, even on 400x400 maps. I'm playing right at this moment against 5 AI's, Wolf is one of them and he didn't finish the castle and is now just sitting there, awaiting his destiny. Btw, this is off topic, but I'm quite new to UCP's and am looking for some patches that could really push the AI players to be much more... Dangerous to play against.
I want it to be done, but I don't think it should be done. It would be easier to make a new game, and if someone's putting that effort in, id prefer the game recreated. If you want a challenge you want aic options. Krarilotus aggressive and Xander10alpha are the strongest of the included ones, use with the fixed aiv. If you join the ucp discord there's a channel where mods are shared, and a few from Xander that improve upon what was included from him, with aivs that.are guaranteed to work well with it.

PLEASE THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT TO ME A LOT , bcs of my bad english , i cant explain it well enough i think , but attention please , at the start of the game , or mapping or any thing else that related to bulding your castel , you cannot chose your castels direction , ( for example if you want to build wolfs biggest castel , which has lots of layers , if your main hall dosent set on excelent direction you cant build it well , let me explain more , when you want to create a map for your self , every main hall you set for yourself , for your enemy and others will be setted in north-west direction , or 45° .) In stronghold legends when you want to create a bulding , you can change it direction , i mean exacly it.
1 and 2 are basically "custom hotkeys", and is certainly on the list. 3, choosing keep direction is pretty difficult, but there is a feature in there that Automatically decides a keep orientation based on map location (same as how AIs keeps rotate)

It would be cool if they add some Slavic and Byzantine faction. 3rd crusade faction of Barbarosa crossed over Serbia and Byzantium. It would be nice to see them too at some point. More factions = more fun
Emperor Frederick Barbarossa never reached the crusade. He died crossing a river in modern day turkey on his way to the crusade. Barbarossa was European (as is byzantine and Slavic) he was in charge of the holy roman empire, based in modern day Germany. So his culture is already represented. Further he is personally in the game. Crusader HD included 8 new AIs, one of which is Emperor Frederick.
So, knowing all that, you want two added cultures represented in a game set in a location neither culture were present in, because a person who never reached that location happened to encounter them? Considering stronghold crusader does not include factions, all players have access to all units from the two cultures represented, the only "faction" like thing is the appearance of the lord, adding more cultures will just not feel cluttered. Crusader simply is not built for multi culture representation.
@@GRhin if you didn't know serbian prince went with Barbarosa with 20000 man and they fought Seljucs together until Barbarosa drowned. Second of all Antioch and Cilician Armenia were vassals of Byzantine emperors more or less before 1204. So Byzantine was pretty close to those events and Byzantines fought holy wars since the first Jihadist attacks, they were first real Crusaders. If anyone deserves to be represented in Crusader it is Byzantine empire. Also Richard Leonhart took over Cyprus from Byzantine and gave it to Kingdom of Jerusalem. Byzantine ruler Manuel Komnennos or Isacos II Angelos deserve more to be in the game than Barbarosa and Philip. And when I said faction I ment lord. Nothing else. Everything else is perfect.

Secondly, Lionhearts actions on his way to the crusade are not a part of the crusade, same with Frederick. Thirdly, Byzantines are considered European, therefore they are represented in Crusader already.
I have very rarely run into this, I believe it is caused by the AIV files which might have a seige tent or something similar placed outside of gate, so try some custom aivs, especially ones that put killing pits outside the gate, and you should not have this occur.
IMO Firefly instead of making new SH releases, they should remaster completely SH1 and SHC1, similar how Age of empires were remastered, with high quality 2D sprites.
I'd love that too. Unfortunately there's no money in it. Nobody wants to pay more than the $2 specials. Crusader does not have the same player base as age of empires, and firefly does not have the finances that Microsoft has to take risks in the hopes of new players coming. They make more money of the new games than remaking old games because people are willing to pay significantly more. Warlords was what $80? One of those sales earns as much as 40 of shc. I'm not sure people would be willing to pay the same amount for a remaster, and a remaster would cost firefly more due to all the legacy code.

As my request, if they are posibile and ballanced for you too: fire power for european Archer- they kill a swordsman so hard, compared to the armour of a Ram. I think 10 archers destroy a Ram almost imediately, compare to the fight they put with a single swordsman. Slingers kill a swordsman much faster. Thanks again for all and keep up the good work. From memory it takes around 150 arrows to break a ram. Swordsman isn't too different I don't think. Overall thought I'm not sure what you are asking for.

I'm not disagreeing with that, however when attacking you could get twice the rams and still not get much effect out of them. The bigger problem is that you get far more value out of the same number of trebuchets, catapults, or fire ballista, which are all cheaper (due to requiring less engineers). The main reason for this is that all those stay far back, out of range of most defenders, while the ram has to move through all defenders fire for ages before they even reach the walls, and they also get to kill the units reducing the amount of fire being returned.
Slingers are not unusable. They are very strong as a cheap anti melee unit. It bootstrap mode (no gold start multiplayer) slings are used regularly. Tunnelors are limited by their mechanics, it's definitely a good idea, and on the list, pretty far down the priority list though due to the difficulty in updating mechanics. Arab archer is frequently requested to be nerfed (I disagree) so a price reduction wouldn't be popular. They are slightly better than European archers, but the cost of making weapons should convey a gold value advantage, which it does slightly.
Hi, my range units(archers, ballistas, horse archers ...) don't fire on enemy units(or just few of them) when they are under attack, is the patch fix that?
It probably could be done, but nobody wants to. Increasing that limit will probably make the game less fun in my opinion and that of the developers who have commented on it. May as well just make recruiting units not require workers. In other words yes, but unfortunately you'd have to convince a developer that it would be worth their time before it would be implemented.
That's the same, you can use extreme if you wish to have a higher limit. Just switch off the magic bar with ucp and copy the maps into mapsExtreme and you will have the same experience except for 4x the unit limit.

No, but why not use extreme? One of the features of ucp is that you can remove extremes magic bar, if you then copy the maps from the maps folder into the mapsExtreme folder you can play as if you were playing regular but with higher unit limits

Correct to the edit. The unit spawn buildings are actually map elements, they work in regular crusader as well, just nobody put them in any maps for it. Get maps without the outposts, and no units spawn.
Absolutely, it all depends on the aic and aiv combination you choose. Of the prebuilt ones Xanders or Krarilotus aggressive aics are the best. If you are willing to install extras, xander10alpha has a custom setup shared in the ucp Discord that's my personal favorite at the moment.
Why cant the devs take Stronghold crusader as is now, ... improve its graphics with more detail, and expand the game by including both European and Middle eastern game with an actual world map. I never really understood.
Because they are a small company that doesn't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to update a 20 year old game that is selling for $5 and people commonly complain that is too expensive. Not to mention the fact that the original devs aren't still around after 20 years. It would be easier to make a new game, and they did exactly that, it is called stronghold crusader 2. Generally people don't like it so much. The reality is that firefly is a studio that makes castle simulator games, it was a fluke that crusader succeeded as a strategy game. I don't think we should expect firefly to recreate crusaders glory, and they can't afford to just remaster it.
A remaster (generally defined as just replacing graphics and music) isnt really needed, and most people will not be happy with that only, people basically want a full remake, or they arent interested. And a remake, and improvement, is basically what firefly attempted with crusader 2. If thats not what you want, then its probably safe to say that crusader will not be replaced by firefly studios.

Yes, if you want more troops you will need to use the solution that was created to solve that problem. People are seriously anti extreme, if you copy over the maps from regular you essentially have the same game but with more troops. If you can't stop yourself from using the magic bar, ucp has an option to switch it off.
Yes, it is specifically supporting 1.41, HD is 1.3 and above Some features won't work on earlier versions, but upgrading any version to 1.41 is free with the official patch.
@@MementoMori116 saladin and caliph are base characters and available in every version of crusader. emir is a new character introduced in crusader HD, which you can upgrade to for free with the official patch.
Someone has said they got it running on Mac, aside from that I'm not sure. Worst case scenario you can copy the game exe to a windows computer, modify it with the ucp, and copy the exe back.
Yes absolutely, the campaign is not effected by most ucp changes, but you can still play it. The crusader trail is effected by almost all ucp changes, and still playable. I'm going through the trail at the moment in streams with improved AIs and all bugfixes.
Talking to the UCP team, they believe you recieved a false positive, as they scanned it with multiple scanners without issue. virustotal.com says that 3 out of 63 virus scanners find the file suspicious, and only one finds the trojan. That one also apparantly also found most games the dev tested to have a trojan on them.
Thats a feature, not a bug. One of the benefits of the apple farm over the other farms is that during the "off" season, the workers can harvest at another farm.
What about the stone bug when if you block the stone quarries the ox worker does not make the trip anymore, But still carries the stone And for all the industry you can put multiple workers to the same building just by clicking fast on the sleeping button of that building this are the bugs that should be fixed as well.
You can do it in multiplayer (lan is a form of multiplayer), always have been able to do so. I assumed you were asking about having it in single player.
It is not possible to find and fix all bugs, as new ones keep popping up. Which specific bugs are you referring to? Ucp is generally aimed at single player, so "cheating" is not a problem, I use it for multiplayer, but haven't run into anyone intentionally cheating so this isn't a problem for me so far. Shcplayer mod is specifically made for multiplayer, so that might have more of what you are looking for.
I think that is assuming alot. not least of which is that people will pay the same price for a rerelease as they will for a new release. More importantly you are describing what they intended to do with crusader 2.

Stronghold 2002 got update patch in 2021. That's crazy. almost 20 years

extra speed is an anti-feature since it said on the page it doesn't work after 1100 but otherwise a good release
It depends on your pc, Krarilotus, who is the person who increased it, can get the full 10,000 speed, my pc can get around 6-7,000.

there is a bug where Sometimes bots close the castle on themselves by building something infront of the gate
and they can't do nothing

Someone has said they got it running on Mac, aside from that I'm not sure.
Worst case scenario you can copy the game exe to a windows computer, modify it with the ucp, and copy the exe back.

Haven't tried radmin, I know windscribe VPN works. It depends if the VPN handles port forwarding or not

Yes absolutely, the campaign is not effected by most ucp changes, but you can still play it. The crusader trail is effected by almost all ucp changes, and still playable. I'm going through the trail at the moment in streams with improved AIs and all bugfixes.

I have downloaded it many times without issue, however I have passed your message on to the UCP team.
Talking to the UCP team, they believe you recieved a false positive, as they scanned it with multiple scanners without issue. virustotal.com says that 3 out of 63 virus scanners find the file suspicious, and only one finds the trojan. That one also apparantly also found most games the dev tested to have a trojan on them.
they should fix the bugs like : having multiple workers at the apple farm !
Thats a feature, not a bug. One of the benefits of the apple farm over the other farms is that during the "off" season, the workers can harvest at another farm.
What about the stone bug when if you block the stone quarries the ox worker does not make the trip anymore, But still carries the stone And for all the industry you can put multiple workers to the same building just by clicking fast on the sleeping button of that building this are the bugs that should be fixed as well.

Those are bugs that should be fixed, I believe they are on the list

No, but considering the ai can't handle no rush, not having it in single player doesn't make much sense.

You can do it in multiplayer (lan is a form of multiplayer), always have been able to do so. I assumed you were asking about having it in single player.

It is not possible to find and fix all bugs, as new ones keep popping up. Which specific bugs are you referring to?
Ucp is generally aimed at single player, so "cheating" is not a problem, I use it for multiplayer, but haven't run into anyone intentionally cheating so this isn't a problem for me so far.
Shcplayer mod is specifically made for multiplayer, so that might have more of what you are looking for.

They should re release stronghold crusader with a new engine and better multiplayer , nobody wants stronghold warlords
I think that is assuming alot. not least of which is that people will pay the same price for a rerelease as they will for a new release.
More importantly you are describing what they intended to do with crusader 2.
