That song was a huge part of my last relapse. Cause the breakdown with the synth and sweet guitar solo. I just needed to get high and give it a listen.
The People I’m Not goes sooooo hard at the end. Holy shit I never listened past Alisa. This was the first album of his I heard in 2005. I would just vibe to Alisa over and over and never really kept going. But holy shit the end of that song is so dope. I’m such an avid Ariel fan but it’s like I haven’t even scratched the surface of his catalogue it feels like sometimes.
People I'm Not is one of my favorite songs ever. First listened to it in 9th grade study hall. I remember hearing it and thinking "yes, this is what rock and roll is".
@@ViewbobTrue I bought some vinyls from him from his online store. The address that it was shipped from, idk if he lives there but I am 10 mins away from that. Sometimes I go to the local taco trucks here in SIlverlake hoping Ariel shows up so he can talk to me xdd
@@SpaceZeeeAriel may or may not live in Los Feliz on a street called Tracy. This is just totally random speculation and I definitely don't know exactly where he lives or anything like that, and my sister definitely doesn't live very close to him and sees him relatively often or anything.
I think that on this channel I've used most of the words that can be used to thank somebody, and now you upload this, a different perspective of my favorite album of all time that is even closer to its raw origins. So I guess at this point all I can say is that I have no words, Sam, thank you so much.
That is true! This rip was most likely made thru Windows Media Player, which recognized it as House Arrest, and automatically assigned those tags to it. j0rdan showed me lots of pictures of the disc and artwork (which I've been asked not to share), that undeniably have Ariel's handwriting, and reference the 2005 APHG tour. The liner notes reference Paw Tracks issues of Doldrums and Worn Copy, but not House Arrest, which was issued late-summer 2006. That would put this copy about mid-late '05, which coincides with a Tour in which Ariel sold lots of CDrs of his own and John Maus' out of a van like some wild Hauntological Food Truck. This was the first time Ariel sold CDRs nationwide, House Arrest being his best seller. If you ever see Instagram comments reminiscing on getting a CD of House Arrest or Scared Famous, this is most certainly what they're referring to! This tour also saw the first standalone CD resequences of Scared Famous and FF>>, which would soon beget HEM Scared Famous! Tl;dr, I have very little doubt this disc is legit.
yeah I ripped it with iTunes and the tags came up as "Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Haunted Graffiti (2006)," the Paw Tracks release. just an automatic iTunes thing, and I forgot to change the date. the CD is very real, bought from a guy who obtained this CD from Ariel when he toured with him in 2005. I analyzed the tracks along with the other releases (BBP 2002 release, Paw Tracks 2006 release) and this CD was untouched in terms of mixing and mastering. they're the original 2002 source files Ariel used to make these CD-R's, straight from his 8-track.
@hazelnut_2019 Not quite a hi-fi mix, just the original uncut rip of Good Kids, higher pitched than on the final. Ripped from Tim Koh's personal copy circa 2001. It's on the Drive!
