one of the best series about Ryu and SF in general, afaik!! I really like the post match analysis, it emphasizes how important it is to take a step back and evaluate what your game plan was and how you can improve that specific matchup.
Excellent man, great to see your reactions during the match as well as your recaps. You keep it cool and calm and always take things that don't go your way in stride. Great video!
On 2:46, you do a drive rush overhead , then crouch medium punch into medium donkey kick into lvl 3. I can't do that, the lvl 3 always wiffs. Was it nerfed?
Thanks for sharing your struggles. Drive impact has messed with my fundamentals alot due to fear of getting hit. I'm going to implement your suggestions.
I totally agree. Ryu is actually one of the few characters that can even push Gief, Luke, or Cammy into the corner. His speed of attack when you mix up his entire move set is really fast. Great content brah!
Great video and format. Makes me want to give you my secret string to pressure opponents 💪 DR cr mp -> st back hp -> mp hashogeki. It's all frame traps.
@h3artcxxk This works even if they crouch block 🤫 here is the tech, if they stand block the HP and then go into crouch between the HP and HK, the HK will hit their guard anyway😎. Try it! It's scary but it works.
I also saw this tech but it feels hard to utilize. Most people crouch block basically everything, so it’s rare you can just get a random sthp to connect like that unless they’re really afraid of your overhead, which takes a lot of conditioning. It’s also very minus on block and i have trouble finding ways to space it. IDK if anyone knows good ways to sneak it in?
@Zades145 Yea that's the hard part. I've tried to find ways to get it in but RYUs low medium is too scary and his overhead is too slow for this to be effective at high ranks. You almost have to never use low med kick and condition overhead to benefit.
Yes. This is a Rank Up Progress from one MR starting point to my current MR (upward progression) video where I show-case the things that I’m learning and researching then applying it into practice. In my commentary, I talk about what previously held me back from the things I’ve observed and how I’m choosing to challenge myself to play outside my comfort box. When I was hard stuck at sub 1700 MR, I made video about being hard stuck with wins and losses if you want that type of content.
Do you guys enjoy the quick match recaps at the end of the set? Would it be better DURING the set? Let me know.
I like after the match your analysis’s
I really like the recaps at the end of sets
at the end for sure

This is such great content man. With these tips I can perhaps get past 1600!
You got this man!
Love to see how the commentary has evolved. Good stuff getting back to 1800.
Thanks man. I got some feedback from friends and applying it! I’ll continue to work on making it informative, interesting, and streamlined.
GGs and nice work getting back to 1800
That match against Luke was how I feel often when playing this game. Even though I win sometimes I still feel as though I lost.

It made me over think the neutral and it eventually froze me up. Definitely held me back from wanting to press or throw anything lol.

ChrisG no slouch and he did stuff I’ve never seen with Ryu. That was good. Great video AM
Thanks Phrenzy!
Why you make me feel like saying "It was an honor watching this video."😂
Iron Ryu player here, thx for the videos and the motivation they are giving. I will try my best to learn and enter competitive master!
cool grind
Defeating ChrisG? Props
Not sure if you know but go to training mode and have the cpu block Standing HP into Standing HK. Watch the drive gauge melt! 😮😮😮
If they are crouch blocking, the st HK will whiff - not good.

did you know you beat chrisG?
you aren't showing and commenting on your losses
