She was my Boss for the 9yrs I spent in the RAF, and when deployed into Iraq I knew I was ok dying for her, if I needed to, no politician could have ever gained that kind of loyalty.
The world is a poorer place without her, and your words summed that up beautifully, we all thought she was immortal.

I don't have a pot to tinkle in, but I'm not jealous or resentful of who they are or how much money they have. Thousands of years of history and tradition is something this country and people, all people can be proud of 🇬🇧

The tune played by the Scottish Bagpipers was one of the Queens favourite tunes. It was called SLEEP DEARIE SLEEP which is very fitting for her final long sleep. Not long before she died she said that soon she will be re-united with her beloved Prince Philip and would le laid beside him for eternity.

That was the lament played by her personal piper at the very end of the Westminster Abbey service. The tune in the video is MIST COVERED MOUNTAINS.
The lament played at the end of Prince Philip's funeral at Windsor was the traditional military lament Flowers of the Forest which is also played every Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day to remember those fallen in action.
@jacquieclapperton9758 Flowers of the Forest was written to commorate the disastrous defeat of the Scottish army by the English at Flodden in Northumberland on the 9th September 1513. So many Scots were killed there was hardly a family who had not lost a man including of course King James IV and most of the government and leading figures. Scotland never really recovered from the defeat and it set the country back economically as well as culturally 100 years.

After this service at Westminster Abbey, this same escort walked with her through London, passed the enormous crowds, waiting to say goodbye. Along the whole route the sailors of the Royal Navy continued to pull her gun carriage to Wellington Arch at Hyde Park where she was transferred to the Hearse. Accompanied in a separate car by her daughter, Princess Anne, they then drove our Queen slowly through the traffic free roads all the way to Windsor Castle and to her place of rest with her husband, her mother and father and her sister. Crowds, many, many people deep lined the route. It felt like the whole of her people had come to say goodbye.
We were very lucky to have such a wonderful Queen for so many years. We have a good King now, her son, but we will miss her always. Thank you for your very respectful Reaction. As always it was perfect. Thank you.
I felt a huge sense of peace that our beautiful Queen Elizabeth ll had come up here to her beloved Balmoral in Scotland, a place that she treasured her whole life, and that this was where she passed away. Each part of her funeral held traditional symbolism, down to the removing of the Crown, orb etc., from her coffin, the breaking of the cane/stick. All of it held a meaning for them doing this - down to her own Piper at the very end, playing the lament as he slowly walked away in the gallery. He would play each morning to her outside her bedroom window for 15minutes.... I miss our Queen dearly - RIP Ma'am with your beloved husband Philip.

I wept when the news broke that Queen Elizabeth II had passed. 😢. I was glued to all the coverage for the 10 days of mourning and the funeral. I shed tears everyday and felt exhausted by the grief after the funeral. It took by surprise how deeply upset I was.
I have been lucky enough to be able to visit where she lays in peace with her family and beloved husband in St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle. RIP❤️

As soon as the pipes started up and the procession started moving it was such an emotional experience. But a very fitting tribute to someone who served her country and the commonwealth for her entire adult life and someone we will never see the likes of again.

My wife and I travelled from Cardiff in South Wales to London to see our Queen lying instate, we where in the queue to file past for 14 hrs. We made friends we laughed and we cried and then after 14 hrs of walking through London to Westeminster Abbey, we filed past her coffin. It was very moving.

54 yrs old and I only knew her majesty as our monarch, a monarch so beloved around the world that even supposed enemy countries citizens showed deep respect, a monarch who never ever in her reign had any controversies, she reigned with dignity she gave respect to everyone, she showed her dignity and bravery when the madman managed to get into her royal bedroom while she was in bed, instead of panicking she calmly spoke to him he sat on her bed for a long time before help arrived, that one interaction showed us that calm dignity and bravery her royal upbringing has instilled into her, my heart bleeds even now the world may never see a royal personage as loved as her majesty queen Elizabeth the 2nd. GOD BLESS QUEEN ELIZABETH.

My mum was a fan of the Royal Family and what they stood for. Thought she would like The Queen tv show on Netflix so showed her the first episode where King George V died. She was so upset she refused to watch it again. WW2 generation, she died a year before the Queen.

Her very unique position, becoming Queen at such a young age g age, in a very much man’s world admired and respected by everyone all over the world, heads of state, prime ministers, presidents, Emperors, Royalty ,she met and knew them all. The soft power the Queen/ Royal have is far more influential than the aggressive style so many have.

I was one of the people that joined the queue to pay our respects to our late Queen., it seemed to me that for all the service she had given it was the right way to say “ thank you”. I was a bit apprehensive at first because the route had been closed for a while due to the numerous people who had turned out. I made a decision that I would check to see how long the route was, it was 5 miles and so I made 5 small bags with a sandwich and a bit of food in each for every mile. I had no idea of the timescale so this was how I planned my way of getting through things. I travelled up to London by train for me it was about a 50 minute journey, got to the station and asked where do I go? A member of staff gave me a map of the route and directions of where to go to, it took almost 2 hours to get to the start. The walking was not the problem but the constant zigzagging for about 30 minutes, once by The Thames we literally went on an unescorted tour of London. Every 20 or 30 minutes they stopped to change the guards at Westminster Hall. It was surprisingly mild which was a good thing. My sandwich bag system worked quite well and some people were giving free food out. I couldn’t get over how well behaved folk were,everyone was helping folk stay in groups if they stopped for toilet breaks and the like. As it got dark things took on a different perspective but not in a bad way. There were some people who were volunteers and they did a remarkable job keeping things going well. Eventually we were close to Parliament and had the zigzagging again before we were searched and went into Westminster Hal, the military were extremely busy but made it work well. At about 3am I got to pay my respects to our late Queen, I gently whispered “Thank you M’am” and then exited. It was a day I won’t forget and the death of Queen Elizabeth was a day that changed the world. One thing I have tried to do,is learn to see the best in people, not always easy but it can be a positive thing. My late father was in the RAF and I have his Royal Warrant signed by Queen Elizabeth. The world is now a different place but we can all make a difference. Sorry this is long but I hope you will forgive me.

As a Brit I was very, very sad when I heard the news that our Queen had died. It was like being told that one of your Grandmas had died. She had just always been there, certainly for all of my lifetime and for that of most of us here. Even now I have to check myself when talking about things like the names of Royal Navy ships which are now called HIS Majesty's Ship as against Her Majesty's Ship.
Anyway, the Queen is dead and life moves on. Long live the King! 🙂

The tradition of the Royal Navy pulling the gun carriage began with the death of Queen Victoria in 1901. She died on the Isle of Wight and the horses pulling the coffin panicked at the steep road to the harbour. Prince Louis of Battenburg, who was married to one of Victoria's granddaughters and who later became First Sea Lord (head of the navy) and first Marquess of Milton Haven, had sailors pull the coffin instead and it's been the Senior Service's honour to do that ever since. The ones at the front pull and the ones at the back act as a brake. The six tall men just in front of the coffin are carrying the heavy pole which would be normally attached to the harnesses of the horses.
This was the first time that naval women were part of the gun crew, though they had been part of the guard at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The officer in charge is a female naval officer right at the front with her sword reversed under her arm. The King and the Princess Royal are also wearing naval uniform.
Funfact: the Royal Navy (including Royal Marines) was the only British armed service to change both male and female uniform to be identical (except of course for differences in cut and fit) throughout the service when women were integrated. The male uniform had the jumper with sailor collar open almost to the waist which would have gaped on women so the neckline was raised.The only difference you see there is the traditional tricorn hat worn by female officers and senior non-commissioned officers, as worn by the Princess Royal. The army and RAF women lining the streets with rifles are wearing skirts though those in the bands and on horses were the same regimental uniform as their male counterparts.
All very appropriate for the first British female royal to serve in the armed forces.
At about 8:28, the people in black suits were her bodyguards. They guarded her all the way to her final resting place

Watching this, it almost looks like there was nobody there. Years ago the streets really would have been packed, if this happened in the 90s, the crowds around the streets would just be unbelievable and they would have been fairly close to the proceedings. How sad is it that today, due to terrorism and violence in crowds, we cannot do that anymore?

Your ignorance is only equaled by your disrespect. The Queen ended the Raj and formed a Commonwealth where all countries were equal. Slavery was flourishing in Black countries way before the Europeans and is still thriving today in non white countries. The Commonwealth was probably more important to the Queen then almost anything else. Their affection and respect for the Queen is sadly, something that someone like you could never understand.
