Katsucon was very hectic and I feel like I missed so many people, but I had a really great time! Most of my time was spent taking lots of photos, shopping in the dealers room, and judging the masquerade 😊 A few people have mentioned that they saw me but didn't want to bother me while I was in photoshoots - please come say hi in the future! I don't mind interruptions and if I'm too busy to chat I'll definitely say so, but I'd love to still say hi to everyone!

Tech wear! Tech wear! I think most here can agree that we are here for whatever you make and I personally think it would be neat to share something a lil different than what is the norm here 😊
The costumes were fantastic! And I don't think you've made a video that made me go "no, not going to watch it", so I'm definitely down to see a techwear video. Or even several.
My husband and I went to our first convention on Saturday, Great Lakes Comic Con. We loved it and can't wait to go to more of them. Since we had a LotR themed wedding, we ended up being able to use out wedding clothes as our costumes. There are several conventions in between now and Youmacon that we'll be going to, but right now we're planning our cosplays for that one. It vacillates between Gary Numan's Savage and Intruder album covers, and Heilung.

If that’s the style you’ll always wear with that Draculaura costume, you could try putting a soft net sleeve on the wig ponytail? It’s what they did for the Sailor Moon stage shows so the hair didn’t catch on all the sequins
Ah yeah I thought of that but it’s not always going to be in that style 😭 maybe I can make temporary sleeves though

The cosplays in this were gorgeous!! For the wig problem I suggest putting the ponytails in an organza sock!! I’ve never tried it myself but Hazariel Costumes uses it in her ‘How I made 9 QUICK CHANGE Sailor Moon transformation dresses’ video along with some other cosplayers I’ve seen who’ve had that same problem.

Being German, Katsucon isn't a Con I can go to easily, so I get really hyped to see peole I already follow go there. Yourand your friends' Cosplays all look so pretty (RAVEN!!! She is done!!! I am so hyped for the Making series, my DC Nerd heart is happy)!!! All of the contestants looked great too!
Answering your question towards the end: I haven't been to any cons since 2020 but I am planning to attend Annotopia, Connichi and maybe DoKomi (all of these are German cons) with my friends which should be fun.

Oh my goodness I didn't realize you were a judge! I have such a hard time recognizing people/remembering names, let alone while everyone's in cosplay and masked! Lol awkward but nice to have briefly met you in judging, I was the Final Fantasy XIV cosplayer in the big green coat :>

Your cosplays look amazing and thanks for showing a few of the cosplayers you judged. I've always wanted to go to Katsu one day, I've only been to one big con in my area since the pandemic, which moved to a smaller venue and felt stressful and crowded compared to before the pandemic, and compared to the medium sized cons in different venues. I'm sure wearing a mask and not being able to freely go to the bathroom because of my costume didn't help either. As with other commenters, I'd be interested in any videos you come up with, tech wear and con survival both sound interesting!
So lovely to see Alice again, the making of was the first thing I watched on your channel! I also vote yes to tech wear, I am intrigued.
Ahh It me in the thumbnail haha! But it was great meeting you, I got cold feet half way talking and just ran but still it was great. I also agree that this katsu was oh boy off whack. the amount of people was insane, I came home more drained because of how many there were. There's a lot more issues but oof this year was crazy

If you keep an eye on other cosplayers, Sarah Spaceman did an amazing “Strawberry Miku” for Holmat and won first place to represent the US for the first time in one of the international competitions (can’t remember the specific name). If you went with black instead of white from the character drawings, it would be a cool look. Could also switch things around and add the macarons to things. Of course, there’s also the Matoshi Strawberry dress. Rachel Maksy made a Halloween themed one a while back that was mostly black with orange accents. Could take inspiration from either or those directions. Could also make a skirt that would utilize the crinoline you made for the Alice dress, with the cupcake-y shape to enhance the bakery/sweet shop vibes. And you could make some bat wings the way you made those Renfair fairy wings last year to put things over the top! Hope you have fun with all the ideas everyone is adding.

I would absolutely LOVE to see you make techwear, I’ve been interested in making techwear recently and I just used your corset body video to make my own fully self drafted corset body. I think your videos and tutorials are so incredibly helpful and interesting!!!

I'm honestly terrified to cosplay at a con again and my heart breaks every time I think about it. I'd really love to hear anything more about getting back in to it during a pandemic that a lot of people think is over.

I haven't been to a con in _forever_, so getting to live vicariously through you has been great :D Definitely a nice bonus to see behind the scene judging. I have a friend that enters competitions when she goes, so it's cool to see what that entails.

I've attended one since 2020, but we just go to the dealer's room and bolt for this specific con. I also didn't go in costume. It was quite busy, like people are getting back to attending, and also the processes in the convention have been improved/become more efficient.

I got into conventions right before everything shut down, my first few being fall of 2019, and then Feb of 2020, and I have only been to one since everything shut down, well, two. Same convention twice. It was a really small one with really strict (being your ID and vax card to each door strict) vax and mask policies the first year. It's strange energy since things have started up again, but I don't know if that's going to maybe fade away or if this is just life now, like with so many other changes. I'd love to see more videos on convention stuff! Seeing your blog was wonderful, a taste of what I'm too afraid to share in.

i started dipping my toe back into cons last year, and yeah the vibe has changed and also i don't have the ability to deal with the crowds, noise, discomfort of cosplay that i used to. for draculaura, you might consider twintail covers?
I went to ONE con last year and it was my first one back (Fanime in Ca) since like 2019 and it was crazy. This year I'm doing 2 (Wondercon and Fanime again lol-) I'm I'm excited? But also nervous? I miss competing and seeing your vids of judging makes me miss it more. Your costumes looked great and I can't wait to see the build vids -- and also techwear is so cool!!! Def post vids if that's something that interests you - aesthetics be darned !!

i just wasn't really happy with how the makeup test turned out! i chose the water activated paint bc it smudges less but I think my skin might be too dry for it 😅 i want to try again with cream based paint sometime!
