Nice Lucky Star, Chainsaw Man, and Raging Loop cosplays. Your friends also had some good Haruhi and Mushoku Tensei cosplays.

I agree: as a first timer, this organization was a mess -- lack of decent signs to point you to Registration, couldnt organize lines to save their lives and constantly checking people for badges. You're saying it's been better?

Ehhhhh, so that's a complicated question answer. it's been better suuuuree, but generally it isn't my favorite con anymore ^^; Last year was only so great because wayyyyy fewer people went than usual (it was the first time they had the con since before the pandemic, so some people weren't quite ready to go back understandably). And the organizational issues weren't as evident as a result because hey, it's easier to get around when there are fewer people. Also my experience last year was better just bc of how things happened to go, buuuut yeah. I've been talking a lot with my friends about this topic, and it really just feels like Katsucon has MASSIVELY outgrown the Gaylord. But like, a lot of the appeal of Katsucon to some people who go it its location. So it's a complicated subject.
