      There are states in America, where you can withhold medical care from your kids and when they die, you can simply say it was your religious right and you get away with it. So the parents had the religious right to send their daughter to her batshit crazy aunt.

    The way Jessi is able to so eloquently articulate such difficult conversations is a gigantic talent within itself, nevermind the fact that they lived through & survived through more than any child or adult or freaking animal should ever ever have to!! ESPECIALLY AT THE HANDS OF A FAMILY MEMBER!!!
    If you read this, Jessi you are the definition of making lemonade out of lemons or whatever that cliche saying is!! Hearing that you are choosing to peruse a degree with the goal of helping others is such an amazing gift that you are not only giving to humanity but also to yourself. Your ability to simultaneously hold multiple often drastically opposing perspectives is so difficult to do & incredibly rare these days. The way you are able to model that skill through your conversations in each interview for the world to see is valuable & inspiring. I know you said you continue to work on yourself every week with therapy, and the proof is clearly in the pudding *(thats my last stupid cliche I promise!!)* but you are incredibly special, you are powerful, you are bold & your intelligence shines through your words with everything you say.

      The need to be referred to by pronouns shows she's still in a cult that uses language to separate themselves from the common sense society.
      The whole pronoun phenomena is silly and shows she is still following a cult that uses language to define themselves.
      She is a beautiful woman inside and out, who should be proud of her growth and boldness to speak out.
      She doesn't need pronouns to be herself. She's replaced one cult with another, which is quite common.
      We often don't feel we fit in to the "normal" society or mold so we look for groups that offer "individuality" and don't conform to societies "rules". Even the rules of the English language.

      @EmL-kg5gn 4 місяці тому +5

      Language is inherently adaptable and singular they has already been used in English for hundreds of years. While the common terminology for it has changed people who don’t conform to our society’s genders and feel a need to call themselves differently because of it have always existed in our culture. Whenever people begin to say that biology aligns with certain social roles and even personality traits, like interests and self-expression, there will be those who don’t fit the mould to an extent that they need to protest the box they were put in. But regardless, you don’t have to see the world the same way. Gender is clearly complex enough that we can have different understandings of it! But we all have pronouns we prefer and those we don’t, some of us are just fortunate that we don’t have to ask to be called the ones that feel right to us. So even if you see things differently from them I think Jessi would appreciate you giving them the dignity of respecting what they like to be called. This also probably isn’t the place to focus on this, I think we’re both here because we know there’s a much bigger concern at hand!
