Hi! Noticed that this link does not include the solar panels. Also noticed if I purchase the unit with the solar panels, the discount code does not work. Can you help? Thank you so much!
😢
I have both E1500 LFP and E2000 LFP. My main use is for home backup in case of an outage. I combine both Pecron power stations in a "master- slave" way. The E1500 is the master and the E2000 is the slave support unit with its larger solar yielding capacity and larger battery.
The E1500 having the UPS mode powers the critical loads like the refrigerator, the freezer, the modem-WiFi router and the home automation. On the E1500 LFP, the 32 -95 V "solar" input port is always prioritized over the wall outlet supplied Ac input internal charging port. This way allows to recharge the E1500 LFP battery with either solar or using the Pecron charging "brick" with the aviation connector or a 48 V battery charger linked to the 32 -95 V by means of a Pecron provided cable with the aviation connector. Also, this way allows the utility supplied input 1400 Watt port internal charger to work only when there is no solar or any other source supplying the 32 -95 V "solar" input port. Otherwise, when there is power supplied to the 32 -95 V "solar" input port, the AC internal charger is moderated to just top off the battery,
So, 2400 W of solar panels supply the slave Pecron E2000 LFP that in return feeds power in the 32 -95 V "solar" input port of the E1500 LFP when needed. This feed is from a E2000 LFP Ac output to an external "brick" that provides 42 V - 15 A to the 32 -95 V "solar" input port of the E1500 LFP. I noticed that the E1500 LFP "requires" input power to recharge only when the battery shows less than a 96 % level. The solar input of the E1500 LFP being prioritized, the "slave" E2000 LFP AC output and accompanying brick charger remain idle until the next E1500 demand.
Since the above mentioned critical loads only draw about 200 Watt-hour per hour from the E1500 LFP, the slave E2000 LFP battery gets fully charged and stops all solar input. To benefit the available free solar energy one just has to plug in some other load in the E2000 Ac outputs. When possible, sometimes we plug in a space heater. Some other times, when the sun shines, we cook using a counter top oven between 20 and 60 minutes (not to deplete deeply the E2000 battery), or a hot plate, or a small slow cooker. We always care not to deplete the E2000 battery lower than 80 % by the end of daylight. No one knows what will happen during the night or the day after.
Recently, hundreds of miles away from home for 15 days, we appreciated our Pecron setup especially using the E1500 LFP WiFi monitoring app. All the critical loads were linked to the E1500 LFP. With our home WiFi router always on, we consulted the E1500 LFP status and using a camera we also monitored the E2000 status over the Internet. We were also able to activate the utility supplied heating appliances. The only missing part was that we could not activate any new load over the Internet to use the extra solar energy when the E2000 battery went to 100 %. Since then we got a WiFi controlled space heater and no longer reject the free solar energy when the power stations batteries are fully charged.
This comment is 11 months later, and I just ordered the unit itself, for $569.
These things have great reviews and I'll update after testing mine.
Excellent!
Great news from pecron about this model :)
P.S. Pecron has just extended the warranty of the e1500lfp (even if you already bought it) to 5 YEARS !!!!!
P.P.S. Make sure that you get over to the website and register your system today and extend your warranty from 2 years to 5 years !!!!!
P.P.P.S. :)
That's really cool! Thanks so much for the info!
That's so nice of you to let people know that Bob.
I've seen you do that on almost all the Pecron videos I've watched...and THAT'S a lot! Lol
Be safe all.🙏
One of the reasons I like you is …no politics…your beliefs are yours and I respect it..but basically you five great survival tips …with out the typical garbage…much appreciated
Thanks so much! When it comes right down to it so many of the things that divide us will go out the window when it comes to survival. I am more interested in the person than their politics whatever they may be.
@@WayPointSurvival I appreciate that very much …love your channel brother…keep up the good work
Man this is a great looking piece of equipment. The fact you don't have to fill it with gas or plug it into a wall is the real difference maker. It looks super simple to operate and of good quality! Thanks for sharing James I appreciate it.
Absolutely. I think it really is an important item that people could possibly benefit from as I stated in the video. Thanks so much for watching!
An extremely helpful presentation! As an elderly couple + my daily use of a CPAP whether at home or on the road (off-grid,) this looks like a high quality piece of equipment that is fully capable of meeting our emergency needs! Our location in NE Alabama is considered part of "Tornado Alley" so it is well worth considering. The price seems reasonable, especially when compared to the cost & maintenance of a gasoline generator. With increasing fuel prices & the fact that I need to clean the carburetor on our present gasoline model, I appreciate dependable information on a viable option. Thanks, James; & may God bless you, your family, & all your viewers.
You are most welcome and God bless you too!
Wow! What a set up! Looks very durable also
It is! Thanks for watching!
Over the past 5 or so years we have experienced two long term power outages (5 or more days) I have assembled enough supplies to ride them out in a degree of comfort but have been concerned about food spoilage. This is looking like what I am looking for maybe two as the most critical thing I need to power would be two refrigerators. Thanks for all the information James.
You're most welcome!
You can run a box fan on low, radios, a small tv, an electric blanket, lights a c-pap machine for several days and nights with a machine like this.
You could run a small window unit for a couple of hours to pull the temperature down in one room of the house. Its not really meant for big things like refrigerators and freezers. It could make a big difference in a week long power outage.
Absolutely!
Good video. I’ve been thinking about one of these systems. During extended outages, running the 7kw house generator uses a lot of fuel. But running it an hour a day, then using one of these battery-inverter units (it bugs me that people call them “solar generators”) would make sense. I like the multiple charging options. I think the liFePo4 battery is a good choice. I’ve looked at Jackery, Bluetti, etc. This looks like a nice package.
Yes, I think it really is one of the better ones on the market from my understanding and I really like the quality of the units.
Wow James, Looks like a great emergency power supply! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Nice set up
Thanks so much, my friend!
That looks like a really nice unit.
Thanks, it really is!
Survival? Can you use for fun too? Like camping, going to the beach, backyard parties and outdoor concerts?
Absolutely!
Wow nice little Power station!
Indeed!
That's why I have 3 ways to cook
Indeed.
Looks and sounds like a great system
It really is, thanks for watching!
This is the way
Right?
I am checking in on that, thank you for this Video
You are so welcome!
Good review James, thanks for sharing, God bless brother !
Thanks for watching! God bless you too!
9.5 years of use then it still retains 80% of charge. My gas generator has never gone more than 2 years without a carb cleaning.
Yes, that is one of the reasons this is so useful.
Dang that is crazy cool!😮🔥
Thanks!
Great review
Thanks!
Nice, I wonder for the part you hook up to a vehicle battery, if it allows current to go both ways, so it could jump start or with the right placement run the vehicle? Not that you would really do the latter but they do do it with jump packs.
I'm not sure that you could use it to jump start a vehicle but I don't see why not as it would definitely be helpful in charging a battery up for instance.
Not intended to 'jump start'.... but will charge up the battery to start normally.
EMP Good Night it’s Dark now😂
Right?
Is it weatherproof? My concern about solar charging is I don’t plan to babysit it. What if I have a nice sunny morning, set it out the charge, and halfway through the day it starts to rain. Will this damage the unit?
While it can handle a bit of moisture, it is not designed to sit out in the rain.
Good video, my friend. I'm a fan of Pecron, and especially this particular one because I like expandability. Very reliable, and long lasting.
Someone below asked about the cost. Since the 1500 is only in the production phase (maybe it's been released now, not sure) pre-ordering usually offers a substantial discount. These are also great for van life enthusiasts, etc. Lastly, the batteries on these are fantastic.
Yes, it has been released and the first run has already sold out. They are taking pre-buy orders on the second run which should be in shortly as in the next week or so.
I do have a Pecron. We are looking to get a 2nd unit just haven't decided on which to get
Excellent! I myself have been truly impressed with the company.
Prefer my E2000 over this. Don't care for the new tracking app. I don't care about my lunch box charger because I rarely use it and its good because you can't lose it. Biggest let down is the lack of solar input compared to the E2000. That's a huge disappointment. I have no idea why people are so focused on wall chargers for solar stations? I do like the 2200 watt inverter but you better get the expansion battery because the station itself doesn't have enough capacity.
Thanks for watching and sharing your input!
Thanks for mentioning the Pure Sine Wave capability!!! Another question, are you able to charge an power devices at the same time???...either pass through when on AC Power or using the inverter when charging on solar???🤔
Yes, It's no problem, Can input and output at the same time
As far as I know, you can do that. For further information you might want to email the company.
My panels wont plug into the e1500. Connector doesn’t fit. Did you have that problem?
Not at all. Make sure you're using the right connector into the right slot.
@@WayPointSurvival thanks for the reply. The proper connector was in the e1500 pack, not with the panels.
The 200 watt panels I got from pecron are junk and I’m sending them back. Less than 100 watts on a perfect sunny day. Unobstructed. I like the e1500 and am keeping it. Have to find some different panels.
❤ Awesome ❤
Thanks!
I'm skeptical. I'd REALLY like to SEE practical applications in a video like this. Hook up coffee makers, microwave ovens, etc. as I've seen MANY inverters FAIL to power these types of appliances. Being able to power a light bulb is not a valid test of an emergency system.
I powered my deep freeze for 12 hours. I think that's a pretty good test.
Can I use a gas generator to charge this system?
Absolutely!
So this thing won't run on leap years?
I imagine it will do just fine.
Ask a question are you try used electric 2 or single burner stove if posible?
I was thinking of a single burner hot plate.
I went with 2 different solar options..
The first ive had a few years now. It is a very cheap eBay camp lighting type with 15w panel, came with 3 lights,ad a couple USB ports to charge (partially) a cellphone.. as a light. Its awesome I've used it nightly for 3yrs now and never leaves me 8n the dark..
The 2nd. Is a 200w eco worthy panel,a 100ah redodo lithium battery and a 100w black and Decker cigarette lighter plug inverter. It will run one of the little desktop lunch fridge/warmers and a 12v Burton lunchbox cooker almost indefinitely
But I'm becoming in some ways a little fearful of my little lithium gadgets,i keep seeing horrible fire videos from Tesla, the scooter and e bike videos and some short circuit fires.. i hope it never happens to anything of mine..
Thanks for watching. That's why it pays to purchase quality gear.
Sounds interesting but battery pack so far not in budget for emergency preparedness . For camping don't need it besides personal bank which do have. I camping that my woods time I disconnect rest modern world.
Thanks for watching!
The idiots that work for my brother need one of these, so they don't kill themselves by running a generator in doors.
One definitely has to be careful with gas powered generators.
Does cold winter temperatures effect the capacity of this unit
It will charge and operate to about -4° fahrenheit.
Spiffy Jimmy! Checked it out. Not a bad price.
Indeed. Especially when you consider it's usefulness and longevity.
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY brother thank you for sharing a rich man back up powder system what about a poor guy system?
LOL sounds like a typical Syracuse, NY kind of question. Wouldn't work for you anyway - the sun doesn't even shine there 350 days of the year.
As far as I know, there really isn't a comparable system that has the same abilities for less.
OUPES has one Im considering @@WayPointSurvival
If we but should we tell them we got this from you
Sure. Thanks for watching!
Where can I get it? It would be great to have to my cpap machine?
The link is in the description box as well as in the top pinned comment. Make sure and use the discount code for an additional 5% off.
Once charged how long will it keep the charge?
It keeps the charge for a very long time. I have had mine stored away for several months without using it and it was still at 100%.
Thank you!
@@paulryan4947LifePo4 batteries should be stored at 50 to 65%.
Look it up😮
Full disclosure?
Yes.
Still $2k.. which i know is not a bad price, but some of us just can not afford $2k on a single purchase.. unless i sell an arm, leg, kidney, and my son.. 🤔
Well, it's the kind of thing that could save your life in an emergency. It's kind of like going to the doctor, it's expensive but we figure out how to pay for it because it's important to us.
You can start smaller on the power station. I have a few 300w units. I only buy on sale. You can get great solar panels polycrystalline 100w for under $80. I have one for each power bank. And this way I can dedicate one setup for lights. One for my heating (boiler with no fan) just need to power the gas controller valve. And one for my 12v Alpicool fridge. Will be adding more panels now and then. Amazon is a pretty good source. Stick to name brands.
Good news. Selling for $800 on the Pecron site and Amazon. Hard to beat if you need a quality 2000 watt power station.
You need sunshine to charge
It works best with Sunshine but will also work on cloudy or overcast days but with less efficiency.
That's nice but, who can afford one of those things?
Well, it really depends on priorities. For instance, no one thinks of spending that much on a car because of the value they get out of it. If you have serious health issues or you are concerned that you might actually be without electric for a long time from a hurricane or other natural disaster, then it's not actually a bad investment long term since you can use it for up to 10 years.
@@WayPointSurvival:
I have solar, I don't know if they take payments on those things.
@reneek7721 I'm not sure about that either.
My only problem is with the price point of stuff like that. I've never seen an emergency power system that didn't cost an arm and a leg. The problem is that they don't cost that much to produce. Example, the unit that I was looking at was priced at 2700 dollars, but it only cost about 400 per unit to produce, manufacture and market, making 2,300 profit per unit. For what? What exactly makes it worth 6.7 times the production costs?
I'll tell you what, they know that people need it and there's no law against charging whatever they want for it.
It's capitalizing on necessity and I find it distasteful and vulgar.
Something so crucial for so many people shouldn't be out of reach for the majority of the people who need it. In fact, I believe it should be the opposite. People who want it just because they want to be cool can pay whatever, but people who need it can get it at cost. If you're going to financially exclude people, exclude the wealthy. They can afford it. And the best part is that when you catch one of them richies lying on the form trying to get it at lower cost, because you know that's what they do, you can sue them for fraud and publish their names to ensure their public humiliation and embarrassment.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your opinion.
Weak for the price
Not when you consider what you're getting.
This looks pricey🤔
@mydixiewrecked2 and the solar panels?
It's actually not bad when you consider what it will do for you in an emergency and how long it will last.
@@WayPointSurvival ill be looking forward to the 5 year review!
