- The Tennessee Titans offensive line has been one of the worst in the NFL and the main culprit is right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere, but the reality is he is the only answer they have right now and the best option available. Next, the Titans offense is simply too slow at the moment and that isn't about the speed of the plays, but the plays themselves. I think we start Levis all year no matter what. We know what Rudolph is and he’s a backup qb in the NFL, winning a couple more games this year by putting him in makes no sense when it should be more important to get reps under Levis’ belt and find out if he can be a franchise qb
Patience we must have. Calli’s first 3 games as a head coach, Dennard’s first 3 games as a DC, really Ran’s first offseason and season as the man in charge, let’s just show a bit of patience, too many teams now show no patience and it hurts them in the end

Levis is not a franchise QB
If I hear that NPF is the only answer for the titans again I swear your football IQ needs to get checked. Like for real. There are many right tackles right now in free agency that would be an upgrade compared to NPF. The main reason why the titans are 0-3 is because of that horrible O Line. Make no mistake that there is NO QB in the league that could play behind this line. Tom Brady in his prime couldn't play behind this line. This organization refused to address the RT position this offseason and thats why they are 0-3 and if they don't get his fixed before the trade deadline, then get ready for a long painful season and a chance to get your QB killed. Yes, you can fix the RT position by the time you play the Colts by picking up someone in free agency. Not to win now, but to get help on that line so you don't get your QB killed. I mean people may not be able to see it but Levis can play ball. Give him time in the pocket and he makes good throws and accurate and has the big time arm. Josh Allen has about the same amount of talent Levis has and the biggest different btw the two is the O Line. NPF is not the answer and needs to go and they have 2 weeks to get it done which can be done. Otherwise, you might as well turn in your tickest and watch another team this year because you will waste your time watching them lose every Sunday. If they could get someone that is an upgrade compared to NPF by the colts game, then we will see much better play and a better Will Levis.

Whats crazy is that the titans have been a run first team since i was a child😂 Eddie George was my favorite. The fact that people say we're tired of being an old fashioned offense but the truth is, sometimes change isnt always a good thing. Get back to the power run game.

Sometimes it just comes down to who is the best athlete available … who has the best skill set, and then you adapt them to whatever your biggest need is… Pete might naturally be a guard, but he might be a better tackle than anyone else we’ve got… don’t know until you try… I’m pretty sure he can be worse than we’ve got, but that would be interesting to see

It is blatantly true that Levis has made some terrible decisions so far... but the optimist in me says he could be much better if he didn't have so much pressure on him almost every play. And he has to be playing timid right now with all eyes on him.
Half of the pressure are on him being skittish as a squirrel in the pocket. He’s a one read QB who doesn’t appear to have the capacity to get to a second read.
Remember jaelyn Duncan isn't a right tackle he's a left tackle (he isn't good at left tackle) but hes a left tackle so what was the exception

The Levis and Marcus comparison is so painfully true. Football is such a wild team sport though that sometimes you never truly know whose fault it is. I mean Malik Willis is by no means a franchise QB but he damn sure looked like it this weekend, but that’s just the combination of a better roster with honestly better coaching. The real question is how long do you give someone to suck until you say enough is enough?

Compare Will to Josh Allen. I think Will compares very similarly to Allen in an abundance of ways. I think Will can make a major jump throughout the season and into next (just like Josh did from year 2 to 3)

Both needs to be cut
Allen was 10 tds 12 ints with a 67.9 passer rating and 53% completion percentage his first 12 games. That's worse than Levis. His second year he cleaned up the turnovers but was still wildly inaccurate until his 3rd year when it all clicked for him and he became a top qb in the league. Plenty of quarterbacks don't get it down until year 2-3. What you hope for is continious development and progress through those first couple of years. Is he taking to coaching, is the game starting to get any slower for him. Will still has time to show whether he is progressing or not.
I’m not a Levi’s hater or lover but he has shown clean crisp passes with a clean pocket. He has also missed plenty of open receivers and maybe that’s because he’s trying to speed up his clock and just focusing on one guy instead of being able to go through his progressions. I say give it more time and we’ll see by the end of the season. But I was literally yelling at my tv set when he jumped up in a clean pocket towards the defense for a sack like wtf 😳. That stuff concerns me.

I agree with almost everything you say, Tyler but I disagree on your last bullet point. I’ll die believing in Marcus Mariota. Can’t develop a QB when there’s an entirely new coaching staff every season and they get rushed back from injury too early over and over. The only time I can remember in my lifetime when I actually had hope for the Titans. Right now is just as low of a feeling as the 3-13 season before Mariota.
Levis can't be coached up. Nothing there. No clay. No brains. No heart. No desire.
Mariota was the man. Never a better feeling as a titans fan when we drafted him.

Regarding Levis maybe you are right but im just not now there yet to say he cant change. I still would like to see some more games, especially i would like to see a win and see how he does after a win.
One point regarding Mariota, Mariota had also problems to remember plays and routes or read the defense he was a improviser, i think Levis improved there. Thats why i still have hope he will start to make better decisions, he looks more structured and that what helps to make good decision is a structured process not just out of reaction, be more calm. If he makes decision out of reaction thats when he made the boneheaded plays.
Very good insights in this video and I agree with you Tyler about the OL and Coach Callahan still needing to fine tune his playbook but I trust him and his dad by midseason or even a little after to settle into the right foundation for the future. Such a big change in offense and even defensive philosophy just takes time to fully implement. The frustrating part is seeing the good plays negated by a few critical bad plays, which has been the story of the season so far.
However I disagree with you about the Levis take. Yes folks tends to go back to their old habits but there is a bigger issue imo in the NFL where we expect most Qbs to be the next Brock Purdy or CJ Stroud and just play well right off the bat. Most Qbs it takes at least 2 seasons (regardless of the era) before they really settle and show if they are NFL material or not. For all of his talent and how his career unfolded, Warren Moon had some really rough years early before finding success in the 3rd season as a Oilers. Even Steve McNair, they limited the playbook the same way they did with Malik Willis because he was really a raw prospect out of college. Brady said it best recently, the playbook has been dumbed down to Qbs today and they are expected to be great from the get go which is unrealistic...
Matthew Stafford in Detroit even when he had Megatron, he had some really rough years before turning the corner. Same for Allen in Buffalo who had Diggs most of his career...You can name several Qbs going through those growing pains before turning the corner. Is Levis will be a serviceable or a good QB?? only time will tell, and it won't be based strictly out of 11-12 games and one real offseason where he has a real teacher as his coach.
Malik got shipped out of Tennessee with a good chunk of the fanbase thinking he would never see another snap in his NFL career. I thought for Malik he just needed another environment where he could get meaningful snaps with a real teacher at Qb like he finally had this offseason and he has the chance to be a decent backup or more.
Yeah it's very possible that Levis could turn out to be a bust but based off 3 games in a new system with an actual teacher, I am sure not making that assessment either way...will wait at least until the end of the season to really access...

At this point, I'd be happy with a competitive and competent titan team with zero wins. I can careless about winning as long as we can truly compete. This team is 100% pure garbage. This is beyond amateur hour with the team they are fielding now. The amount of regression after all of that money spent is what's irritating everyone including myself.
I would take Marcus over Levis any day of the week. Even now. A playoff win is a playoff win no matter how sloppy it was. Levis needs to ride it out but find some hidden talent at RG and RT and we will be much better.

He looked like a race horse moving around out there, what an athlete! It came time to loosen up his arm with a trainer who was maybe 15 yards away! Now it’s 90 degrees that day and Mariota throws the ball 5 yards over the trainers head!!! Levis has tunnel vision syndrome, he needs to calm down! Maybe he can maybe he can’t?

Sometimes we watch all other Locked on hosts and I'm sure they are knowledgeable and everything, but the enthusiasm you bring makes us Titan fans lucky to have you. And i dont think Tannehill was horrible. He wasnt a super star, but i think with him at the helm we wouldnt be 0-3 and he is available lol! But its probably best to ride it out with Levis this year
