Though marketed initially to people of color, I suspect these products are capable of giving anyone a good shave. Preshave oil always seems to make my shave more comfortable, and is included in the Bevel kit. It may not be a substitute for other face prep, but it really benefits me, especially if I use a shave soap that lacks sickness.
Don Fraysier lol people or color. That's funny
The Bevel is a well Rounded Razor .very smooth and close shave ..luv it 💈
Love your video's mantic, have taught me how to shave the old fashioned way. Please do more research on the "Bevel" shave system. I have poked around on the net looking for the truth about "Bevel" and been dismayed by what I found. IMHO the "Bevel" should be on tv along with the other snakeoil products. I found nothing to dislike about the Bevel system itself, but in the way it is touted.......via a membership in which the susbscriber better read the fine print. Badger and Blade have addressed "Bevel" in several threads on their forum, worth reading for anyone considering this product. Thank you again for your help and assistance in getting me restarted on shaveing with a safety razor; I am 72yo.
+Terry Tibbetts I've used the kit for over a year now. I understand that the subscription model may not be for everyone, which is why having the individual products available at Target is good news.
Well it is still a step up from the brand that they are currently carrying if it is like a DE 89 I prefer my razors a little bit more aggressive but hey they're going in the right direction how was the badger brush
The brush used to shed like crazy. Now the brush is synthetic that they sell....wonder if it still sheds like it used to?
how would you compare a bevel razor with any other safety razor is there any significant difference ?
I wonder how a feather would feel in the razor ?
"like school glue"
Best joke i heard today!
You have aged pretty well in ten years, mantic59!
+mantic59 Thanks for another excellent video your clear & concise comments are really helpful. Oh and I'm on the same page as you when it comes to iPhones haha. I'm interested in how this razor compares to the Edwin Jagger, do you have a preference? Oh and are bevel blades the only ones compatible with the razor? Have you tried any others with it?
Soft peaks, like a good merengue.
You mentioned the blades are perhaps a bit thinner than other DE blades. Do others fit properly in the Bevel? Will the price of the blades be comparable?
Thanks for posting this review.
+Jeremy Vuozzo yes other blades fit fine. From what I see on Target.com the blades are ~$0.50/blade ($9.95 for 20 blades) but I don't know if they will be a different price in the store.
great video. but a bic sensitive shaver, barbasol and skin bracer work fine for me.
+Joseph Fragosa King Gillette is spinning in his grave fast enough to power an internal combustion engine.
+Dan Morgan lol.
But, oh the fun you're missing.
Hey, Mark. Solid review. How's the weight and balance compared to our beloved Merkur Progress? Also, compared to the Single Edge injector, how was the quality of shave?
+JSBojanglz weight is good, balance took me a few shaves to get the hang of because the center of gravity is different than my preferred razors. Hard to compare to the Single Edge because that was a prototype!
The razors handle is too long, slick and thin... The head on the razor works well. Buy something else!
Nice!!!
Priming oil? Shaving cream? I just take a hot shower then use water and a Merkur Futur. Short light strokes with the depth set all the way low. Maybe throw on some skin food afterward.
+MotoErgoSum most people just can't pull off a comfortable shave with just water.

It's a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to do it properly without gobs of pain and cuts. Sharp blade and a light touch.
Hi mantic.. I had a question.. About a particular blade.. A 3 hole safety razor blade.. It's a brand called tiger safety razor blade and it's a 3 hole design... Now will that fit on a standard double edge razor? Thanks!
+steveazusa I have never tried that particular blade but from the pictures I've seen yes, it should fit in a regular DE razor.
Awesome thanks!
Most safety razor blades are universal, in the sense that they will fit in most safety razors.
How would you rate the aggressiveness of the Bevel razor?
+Edward Ciotic the Bevel razor is very middle of the road for me, in the EJ DE89 to Merkur HD range.
Mantic is still 59. Go figure.
Hey mantic59 I have one question,
what is the knot and loft size of the shaving brush?
By my measure it looks to be about a 22mm knot and a 48mm loft.
Cool thank you so much and awesome video by the way :)
Hello mantic, is the safety razor aggressive or mild?
I would call it at the low (mild) end of the "average" range.
ok, thank you so much
Can't wait to try this lot.
I can't seem to find the review that you mentioned at the start of the video. Do you have a link?
+shavefan12 link is on a youtube card at the beginning of the video and also linked in the article referenced in the video description.
Crapple sucks! Hell yeah mantic59!
Why am I watching a review of a product that's not even available in my country?
actually, it may become available. I'm not sure what the relationship is between Target Australia and Target USA.
too expensive
Looks like this razor is too cool to be sold in California target stores.... So lame...
+steveazusa it''s a phased roll-out so if it's not there now it probably will come in a few months.
too pricey. I'll stick with the Gillette 7 o'clock.
Don't ruin the post wIth talk of cheap crap shavers
+steveazusa go lather with your cat hair shaving brush!
Shave like a mantic59! U fruit cake!
