Thanks, the idea was triggered by your video with your inverter actually. Initially I bought pullies but was worried I'd drop it as it didn't have a stop. The chain hoist was more $$$ but safer. I enjoy your videos BTW, keep it up. :)
hello I have a ? how did you get the battery to communicate with the eg4 inverter? I have the same inverter and planing to buy the same battery but I am a bit spectacle if it will work with the inverter
I used the RJ45 cable that came with the EG4 and plugged it into the RS485 ports on the Inverter and the battery. The cable is directional and if you plug the wrong end into the wrong device it won't work. Then you have to go into the EG4 settings and change the protocol to Pylon. There's also DIP switches on the battery that you have to set depending on how many batteries you have communicating. I only have a single battery so it was simple, IIRC I have the first DIP switch on and all the rest off. If you have multiple batteries each will need to have different DIP switch settings.
@SolarShenanigans waoo!! thanks very helpful yes for now I just order one battery I was going to get the eg4 LiFePO4 but I like the idea of hanging it on the wall it's more convenient and from my point of view much safer thanks again 👍
@@prepsolar787 Just don't injure yourself getting it on the wall. :) I made a quick video and just posted it showing the setup of this configuration, hopefully this helps too.
@SolarShenanigans I will keep that in mind I know it's heavy. actually I don't plan to mount it up very high in the wall about 3 to 4 feet of the ground. that's again
Thanks
Love it! Yeah I had a all the fun shenanigans trying to mount my 12kw inverter..... I should have used a hoist like you did!!!💥

Great video! Im studying the possibility to buying one or some of these. Very helpful video. Many thanks
I'm glad it helped you. Don't hurt yourself getting it up on the wall, it can get sketch. :)
