No, because she always runs at the back (for whatever reason) even though she can maintain a high speed for a long distance. First time i see her run to her strengths. They'd have to out last her at that high pace and none of them have more stamina than she has (this lady runs from 800m to half marathon). Hassan is one of the most underrated athletes today.
I fully expected this tactic. Several of us were predicting Hassan's strategy on the running forum Letsrun.com. Kipyegon was not in ideal shape after maternity leave. The best way for Hassan to take advantage was to push early and run a final time that Kipyegon was not capable of in 2019. However, Hassan erred badly in repeating the tactic in the Tokyo Olympics. Kipyegon was now in top condition and she always defeats Hassan stride for stride when both are at their best. Hassan should have played cat and mouse and hoped to get the jump on Kipyegon late. I doubt it would have worked but the tactic she chose was essentially a concession.
Hassan's closing speed was scary this season. She usually chills in the back till the last laps. In this race she wanted to kill them, she decided to lead from the front just to punish them.

EXCELLENT!!!! strategy. Hassan! 👍👏👏👏👏👏 Yes, u hv the STAMINA to run n win the 5,000m n 10,000m, so in the 1,500m u NEED!!! To run FAST!!!, FULLY STRETCHING ur STAMINA CAPACITY! The other runners' strategy was to run PACED, so that they can settle into their run comfortably, To ready themselves For the final sprint run. So, by ur FAST, STAMINA STRETCHING run, u gv the other runners NO CHANCE of being in the settling (comfort) zone during their paced run. Kudos to ur trainer n mentor For helping u To come up with this strategy. 👍👏👏👏👏
Exactly. I"ve watched her earlier races over the years where she came in second or third and wondered why on earth was she running at their speed and have them out-kick her at the end? With her stamina she should set the high-speed pace and let them try staying with her. What she did in this 1500m finals is what she should have done earlier. I've never seen a female athlete with such stamina. I still think she should gun for the 800m record. She can sprint two laps. I watched her in 3k and 5k races. She just cruises with them until the final 800m then she goes into her high-speed cruise and they begin dropping like flies. Nobody has her stamina. She drives me crazy running at the very back in all her first laps. Looking forward to her dominating the Olympics, whenever that may be.
eh the announcers were too focused on laura muir's gallant attempt. instead, they should've been clocking and remarking about sifan hassan's incredible lowering of each lap time. instead of the predictable tactical major women's 1500 meters final, sifan boldly ran the sixth fastest performance- nearly from the gun. sub 4:10 mile... sub whatever she wants to run in the W1500. go sifan GO!!

This performance still blows my mind. Given she'd already run the 10k, 2x1500 rounds, no pacing and she ran from the front nearly the whole way it's more impressive than Kipyegon's world records.
Still love my Kipyegon. She'll retain her Olympic gold in 2020- 2021
@That One This is the first time I've ever seen her closed like this in a major event.
@That One won't happen coach banned for 4 years. dibaba or tsegay i see getting the gold
Me too. Faith Kipyegon is consistent and just awesome. People always undermine her. She got injured before she crossed the line here, still managed 3.54.22. And that ladies and gentlemen, after being out since the 2017 WC, for maternity leave. She only started training early 2019. 2x Olympic Champion? Can't wait
@@felistergatwiri7134 But - Hassan has run (and won) the 10000m before and ran it all from the top. As the reporter said at the end: "Wow!"
No way
POWERFUL, STAMINA FULL, PRACTICE FULL, AND STRONG PLAYERS IN THIS GAME.........
BUT WINER IS WONDERFUL......
man that woman is tough, she puts the work in id love to see her training stats and training program
amazing from oromia💖💖💚💚💖💖
Felicito al relator y la relatora-siempre concentrados en la pista-congratulaciones-he escuchado otros..................
Sifan Hassan 💪💪❤👌
Unbelievable, 9 women under 4 minutes! Shelby H. runs sub 3:55 and sets an AR and finished 4th.
This is the best leg tearing I’ve ever seen.
Looking forward to see Hassan here in Tokyo for 2021 Olympics
sifan is awesome
Omg! Netherlands! Such a small country but look at their unbelievable medal mirror! 8th place of the world. Unbelievable.....
The Netherlands scores highest ranking in JAPAN ever in medal level with 7th place🥰
SIFAN 🥇🥉🥇
❤🤍💙🧡🇳🇱
This is such a great race. So many personal best and national records, that is amazing.
I see this race many times and I don't understand why the commentators ( lady) said that the pace is pedestrian with new CR I want to know if she runs and what is her PR....
greatest distance runner in the history of the sport man or woman she will never be surpassed certainly her range, who knows she could medal at 800m with her speed and strength
Super forever, Sifan
Sifan♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
BORN a LEGEND!
EXCELLENT!!!! strategy. Hassan! 👍👏👏👏👏👏
Yes, u hv the STAMINA to run n win the 5,000m n 10,000m, so in the 1,500m u NEED!!!
Simply awesome!
eh
the announcers were too focused on laura muir's gallant attempt.
instead,
they should've been clocking and remarking about
sifan hassan's
incredible lowering of each lap time.
instead of the predictable tactical major women's 1500 meters final,
sifan boldly ran the sixth fastest performance-
nearly from the gun.
sub 4:10 mile...
sub whatever she wants to run in the W1500.
go sifan GO!!
Well they’re biased obviously, it’s understandable to an extent.
mike nealon agreed, though being a British broadcast to UK viewers, made a bit of sense to hype her. She’s a good “time” runner, but not a great racer. Top 5, always seemingly short of big podiums.
@@steve-from-toronto
i kinda agree steve
except
i saw 2019 as sifan's step up.
out of that, always the bridesmaid thing.
her WR mile before the champs,
settin' her up for the podium top
Jennie Meadows said the first 4 times were all national records but then Muir was very close to her NR and Deceus-Stafford of Canada in 6th also had a huge NR by almost 4 seconds. This was just such a fast race because of Hussan who was willing to make it fast. A tremendous race.
sifan hassan is a class all by herself. and yes, I am Dutch and beyond proud!
Absolutely amazing run
Was looking for the First round of the 1500m (before the semis). Anyone with a link to that video? Want to see what Strategy Hassan used then.

Guys please release the 400m final , so far you've got just the 50 sec video...
Hassan is a great runner and always rooting for her,but gotta give it up for the new mom my Faith 🙌🏾 who gave it all after coming from maternity. She didn't even compete much when she came to Doha but my Faith came through🔥😍 and the there's still 2021 since 2020 is cancelled😐!
Probably better. She had birth complications and is still recovering
Faith is always Faith, she is really a fighter
Maravilla carrera-Hassan superior-que hermoso deporte.
SIFAN HASSAN BEST RUNNER EVER
Faith Kipyegon is the best in 1500m
Proud to be Dutch 🧡
Always been a fan!

congratulations to you!!!!!!
You are no.1

Go Hassan, go. This woman is special.
She just makes it look like everyone else is walking
That's too much
whats the commentator name
HASSAN GREAT. VERY STRONG RUN.
We know who her coach is.....five years down the memory lane and we will know what concoctions she had.
From a coaching point of view on endurance and speed mechanics, it's difficult to have that speed in 1500m and same time have endurance for 10k.
A cheat..
