Actually, a mono wheel chair , gyro balance would be your dream mobile device, as it could go anywhere, including up & down a stair with fares wheel paddles between a oreo twin rims or adjacent, plus super compact.
@@ckdigitaltheqof6th210 I don't think they would go upstairs if it was 1 wheeled and I don't think anyone would want that anyways thats sketchy. they already have chairs first going upstairs that are portable now I saw on a tech channel.
Back in 2008 I went to a local EV car meet in Palo Alto CA. A time when you had to build your own EV if you wanted to avoid the pump. Well there was a guy there roaming around on a sheet of plywood fitted with home brew circuitry and dual motors balanced on two wheels like a Segway. It had a very comfy a Lazy Boy recliner chair mounted on it. He controlled the "Segway" chair with a Nintendo joystick mounted on one arm rest while the other armrest had the all important drink holder on it.
That's a great idea! The Segway S-Pod Chair would definitely be a convenient mobility option for large venues like amusement parks and zoos. And speaking of Segway, have you checked out their Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It's a versatile powerhouse that can keep your devices and appliances running for extended periods, with features like massive capacity, powerful output, and super fast recharging. It's perfect for outdoor enthusiasts like us!

Dean Kamen (founder of USA Segway) made this 20 years ago and it can even work on stairs. It's for real wheelchair ppl. The problem was insurance wouldn't pay for it. All these NineBot Segway gadgets are old technology that Kamen could have made, but here in USA, it's really stupid because once a "crash" happens, this is a "dangerous vehicle" and cities ban it because everyone is afraid of lawyers, etc. because Americans are such babies. I saw Segway's in conventions shortly...but banned. Then they made these giant 3 wheel version for the subway that's can barely fit except in giant stations because cops they saw someone broke their nose once. etc. etc. This stuff never worked in America.
At work one day, that crazy song called, "In The Year 2525" came on, and just when it got to the verse, "In the year 5555 Your arms hangin' limp at your sides Your legs got nothin' to do Some machine's doin' that for you", *no lie* ...someone zoomed past our sidewalk out front, riding on a Segway. It was so ironic, I laughed.
as someone with severe narcolepsy and goes paralyzed from the waste down on a almost daily basis i can say this looks awesome but i feel like the back shouldn’t be all one piece so it can slide down a bit. My current set up for wheelchairs is just a very lightweight one. It really gets tiring but it makes it a bit better that my service dog can pull me around since the wheelchair and me combine only way around 95 pounds. Plus i’m getting another service dog for allergies so my current service dog be doesn’t have as much stress on him. But yeah i don’t think i’m gonna get a Electric wheelchair for a while because they’re getting more and more advanced so i can get a really nice one in the future. Plus if i need help moving i can have my babies help me out!
Kuji, you are the man! Watching you maneuver the S-Pod in the wild changed my thoughts on it. Did you say there are unicycles, or a unicycle coming soon? I just want to make sure, so I will know how many lottery tickets to purchase at my local bodega. All Hail Emperor KUJI!!!!!!!
Wauw, so nice to see you back, Kuji. I’ve been waiting and waiting for the news of your video. Then suddenly, here it is. So glad to see you back. Your videos are always great. Your riding skill is unparalled. Your reviews are still king!
This is a cool video but the able bodied definitely not the target audience for the S-pod chair. Guess it's for people with mobility issues or those recovering from injury?
The concept is very good, but I think Segway should look into other designs away from the fixed bucket seat. The S-Pod could carry a modern designed wheelchair either battery powered (or not) which could be recharged from the S-Pod. The accessibility this would give would make this very appealing to disabled people. They could use the S-Pod to motor (40kmh) to their destination, then disengage the wheelchair, and use it to go shopping, go into their work, or into college etc. This is what would make the S-Pod commercially viable.
I said something similar - but my commentary was about the fact that now there is a trend for wheelchairs that also climb stairs. I'm curious as to whether you ever received a reply on your recommendation.
I want one. It would be awesome to visit there. I had one of the first Ninebots in the whole United States. I knew Ninebot would go places after getting the device. Can you just walk into this place?
I remember being at a shopping mall somewhere between 2006 and 2009 maybe? The was a guy using a self balancing wheelchair. My dad referred to it as a Segway wheelchair. I’m not sure if Segway made it or not but it was cool to see back then.
Kuji!!! Where were you man? Got worried! I'm eagerly awaiting your review of the new gotway monster and the Nikola plus (maybe with a comparison to the 16x) Pleeeeaaaaseeeee
The reason for this being capable of driving at 40 an hour is most likely that they’ll add protection to it and make it feasible for public transport on the street. Imagine, everyone will go with these! What a nice future honestly. Now it should only get to be self driven and the world will be fine
Great prototype!! Looks like it's easy to manuver - but now the trend is towards those that can climb and descend stairs, and have some sort of multi-terrain capacity, that would make it viable for the medical industry as well as being a good looking means of individual transportation. Is SEGWAY S-Pod planning on providing such a chair similar to the Observer/Peer, or the Scewo Bro, or the Scalevo? They all basically have two big wheels, with assisting wheels to climb stairs. Also, will this be transportable in a van or car like the Scewo Bro? And will it be available in the US like SEGWAY's other great products? This is a serious inquiry, and I would really appreciate a response - Thanks so much!
Me really likey this.... can't wait to try one out myself. I'm a little person with limited Mobility and this would be awesome compared to the antiquated scooter I now have....
They could add some sensors around it. If some drones have them, why not this chair? Sensors to avoid obstacles, or to emergency stop in case is going to bump onto something.
Yes more E, transportation gyro balance vehicles , bikes, pods . Which ever name they want too attach too them. For city or country local transportation, ones with rain cover are more desired .
Alternate title: Kuji becomes a danger to himself and others 🤣 I feel like it needs turning indicators, rear veiw mirrors and, a seat belt (if it doesn't have one). The self balancing moped was pretty cool.
How can I get in the team, but I’m only 13? I want to be in the SEGWAY Team because I love the products and the way they are built. I also believe SEGWAY is the future.

Kuji or community. On my EUC saw a guy on a wheelchair and said " we can prob make that go faster" all he said was "please, can we please make it go faster" All he can do is 6mph, my goodness wheelchair makers, the guy is disabled, not 6years old. I want one of these for him. Any word on reliese date?
do you have to turn it upside down to empty the sewage, or does it dump it on the footpath when you go outside? After all, it does look like a mobile dunny.
Ok we're definitely getting closer to Wall-E
That future sounds comfortable
Kuji Rolls with a lot of grease
my first thought when I saw the thumbnail
It just needs a big gulp cup holder, and maybe a hot pocket sized microwave on the other side!
Cool looking wheelchair.
I'm disabled and that looks like my dream mobility aid :(
lol
It will happen
Same here

Thats my new gaming chair. I no longer have to get up to go to the kitchen.
Looks pretty cool actually, it will come together quite nicely, look forward to seeing them in airports!
