Accurate review thanks - many 718 Spyder ( including mine) have had PADM transmission mount a failure ( some multiple times ) - expensive but replaced under warranty if you have it - as they fail randomly porsche not recalled
My 2024 Cayman GTS 4.0 still grinds second gear. It happens randomly and it doesn’t matter if the car is cold or warm. It doesn’t matter if the clutch is fully engaged. What I do now is I go from 1st to neutral for one second then to second gear. This has avoided the grind.
@johnob1824 BSR did my tune. Swedish tuner. Have dealer's all over the world. There is definitely a difference from stock. More exhaust sound. 400hp and 529Nm torque. Can be little twitchy/aggressive in sport mode.
2019 718 Boxster are ticking time bombs, with hideously expensive AOS and PF problems. Except bills of £12k - £16k. Porsche are trying to avoid liability. The 2019 model is an absolute lemon.
I have 64k miles on my 2019 718 Boxster S, of which I’ve personally done 30k so far with no major issues. Only negatives were faulty axle boot clamps which were covered under warranty, oil leak from tensioner also covered under warranty, and PSE valve actuator, also covered under warranty. Besides those, all I’ve done is regular maintenance. Not sure where you get they are lemons.
@ you don’t have to google too far to find many forums with numerous cases of the same thing as I had. Not sure why you would post as you have. My 2019’s example is not rare and was colossally expensive. Good luck with your continued good fortune.
@@richardhall206 I posted what I did to highlight I haven’t experienced these issues nor has any of my friends with 718s ranging from 2018-2023. I did a quick google search as you suggested and the issues on the 718 mentioned appear to only affect base 2.0 cars and there really aren’t that many people experiencing it on the 3 forums I looked at for it to be considered “an absolute lemon”.

I have a 982 and it is truly one of the last, well manufactured mainstream sports automobiles that is ever going to be made.
I have a 2018 718 boxster base model w/ sport chrono and it's been great. I've smoked Tesla model X base engine and a 2010 911 carerra
718s iv had has had no issues what so ever..great car.
Very accurate review. My 2022 718S has been flawless!
My 2017 Boxster has not exhibited any problems!!! Regular maintenance is expensive.
I was thinking of buying one but this video persuaded me to hang onto my 981S, thanks!

@@themilesdriven Excellent, many thanks.
My 2019 Boxster 718 S is no slouch compared to any sportscar... and definitely the most fun to drive when pushed hard

Thanks for adding this information about the gearbox mount 👍
Is yours auto or manual?
Semi auto PDK

Not good, my neighbor had the same issue.... unload it.
Under warranty so why not just bring it in?
Goes away after a few thousand miles
Haven't had any problems with my manual 2017 Cayman S. I have owned it since new and did a stage 1 tune in 2019.
did you feel the difference with your stage 1 tune, also, who did your tune?
@johnob1824 BSR did my tune. Swedish tuner. Have dealer's all over the world. There is definitely a difference from stock. More exhaust sound. 400hp and 529Nm torque. Can be little twitchy/aggressive in sport mode.
Why aren't they updating it?
Awesome video man
The T isn't just a rename of the base model - it's a different spec.
9:50 “4 liter naturally aspirated …..”what?…unintelligible.
'4.0-liter naturally aspirated motor'. It plays ok my side, is the sound dropping out for you?
@@themilesdriven yes like it was dropping out. Replayed it several times. JBL charge 2 bluetooth speaker. But ok thanks for clarifying.
@@themilesdrivennow it plays fine…thanks.
