I don't know what kind of punishment is given for stealing in North Korea but it probably is alot more severe than other places.

Korea is great and you have freedom, but he ended being depressed by the competitive culture and people are more individualistics (like most countries in the world). I guess there are good and bad about each country. N.Korea may seem so bad, but maybe the citizens don't really mind it if they like simple life there.

@@d11d77 well I guess it’s like I said, if you don’t know anything else you’ll think it’s heaven on earth. It’s like a weird form of Stockholm syndrome where even if you technically live in pretty bad conditions you’ll convince yourself it’s fine as a way to survive. Aswell as plain old nostalgia. You see it in stories of abuse, some victims can live 10, 20, 50 years in horrific conditions without leaving, some of the victims will even say they miss it once they escape. I specifically remember the girl who was locked in a closet for years until rescued and as an adult she slept in her closet for comfort. So even if she was abused she still drew comfort from being in a closet. The same with the Amish, members of super strict religions, abusive/controlling partners/family/households; the ”victim” can leave whenever they want but they’re too brainwashed/scared of the real world that they choose to stay in conditions none of us would willingly choose. So I do believe there are people who ”escape” N Korea and feel like they miss it, if for nothing else then the nostalgia, their families, friends or childhood home.

Him:“U cannot steal anything”
Me: “that’s everywhere-? Right? 😭“
Yes it is. But in most countries, the punishment for stealing is mild and most likely won't earn you jail time, though it really depends on what you steal and how many times you were caught stealing. I don't know what kind of punishment is given for stealing in North Korea but it probably is alot more severe than other places.
Not in California
Not in Rome
In Indonesia you can actually...
I mean....considering a lot of mild crimes can end in execution there (even things that seem innocent to US can end in death there), I'm sure stealing is a pretty good no-no to put on this list. Especially if you have young children with you who may have sticky fingers or just don't know better. When I was 5, I would slip things into my mom's purse because I didn't understand you had to pay for things and it was a small surprise for her lol but in NK, it could land an unsuspecting parent in prison or splattered on a wall.
Another rule in North Korea is to leave all propaganda posters alone.

👁️👄👁️
@@Gtwiwhwidyjw_2792 what?
I watched a documentary once a defector to S. Korea mentioned he missed that life in N. Korea is more simple, and the social ties are much stronger. The thing they lacked is freedom. S. Korea is great and you have freedom, but he ended being depressed by the competitive culture and people are more individualistics (like most countries in the world). I guess there are good and bad about each country. N.Korea may seem so bad, but maybe the citizens don't really mind it if they like simple life there.
North Korea actually set up a fake city near the border of South Korea. They tried to make it look like the north was living in pristine conditions and doing better then the south. Im pretty sure they fake city is still going despite the fact that the whole world knows it’s fake.
