Duals will probably never go down in price, or at least not that much.

Love dual lands still have my revised ones from the 90s. Didn't use sleeves, played at school on the concrete, so they are HP.
hp or not, those are the most honest cards, man! love it! i still have a few from the 90s as well in this pile 😁👊🏻!

i think i based it on a printrun of 300mil and indeed said a few mil in the vid. i have to look up the vid. but basically: 300mil cards printrun, 15 cards a pack, that’s 20mil packs (555k displays). divide by 121 rares, that’s roughly 165k per card. likely less, because i think the printrun is more like 300k displays and starters.
but even if it’s 160k roughly per rare, assuming all rares are equal, we’re talking about 40k playsets. without loss of cards over the years and without factoring in collectors who have hundreds of duals. and without assuming the printrun actually was less.
@@NerdAndProudOfIt I remember that video of yours well... yep, for the revised (english), they shifted away fromthe 50/50 split of cards-starter decks, and leaned more into boosters. and some revised boosters had 3 rares per deck (no island rares anymore).. but lets even take that number, and double it with the ABU ce/ice,FBB/FWB - that's like 80,000 playsets? about the same as an Alpha Basic land.
@@mtgpoland i think that number might be too high, even if you combine ABUR together. but bottom line is, there are less out there than one might think, if you do a few simple math exercises 😜.

@@NerdAndProudOfIt yes, the number I wrote is way too high, but I prefer to over estimate - when evaluating scarcity as a healthy pessimist should :) plus were not including the one's lost to time, damaged FUBAR, etc... so even at those numbers, its less than owning 1 of every alpha basic -which are replaceable, where duals are iconic and irreplaceable

I only want 4 Badlands from revised for my Orzhoh deck. That is still too much $$$ for me LOL Supply and Demand keeps Duals like Bread & Butter in MTG collecting
i was a big fanboy of all blizz games 😂! played starcraft and warcraft for years. the warcraft tcg was not even that bad, tbh.

@@59thSurvivor-of-VHS i never worked for blizz directly, but i did some stuff for them. did the overwatch launch event in the benelux, for example 😁👊🏻

I feel ashamed, but I only own a playset of Bayou (3x unl, 1x revised). I'm only interested in ABU duals as I want to play them in swedish legal oldschool 93/94 so I limit myself by a great margin here haha. I really wonder what my next dual will be? Probably something green X to splash stuff in my olschool deck, but I have so many other priorities atm. Still thanking you for teaching me about 341! Very reliable sellers indeed, highly recommended!

Yes, the Dual lands are the canary in the coal mine for sure!
Considering how many commander players there are, 160k of a particular dual is not very much.
Side note: I took my own advice and didn’t end up getting a LotR collectors box and instead put that money towards some Alpha auctions this week. Picked a couple that I still needed. Very excited to have those.

Unlimited duals! Beautiful, rare, and surprisingly cheap compared to their revised counterparts. 10x as scarce, but only around 2x the price. I'd probably never again buy any revised as long as this is the case.

fbb are generally worth more, yes. fwb a little less than revised, in my experience, stefan. 👊🏻
I think the black border duals look really good, that’s why i like the collector edition duals

WOTC has tried real hard to replace those lands 🤣🤣🤣 it's just never going to happen. Actually, they themselves are the biggest reason they can't replace them. Priceless 😂😂😂

With dual lands I actually have some to trade, but I'm looking for others for my wife. Low priority right now as she's not overly worried about them. Right now prices seem stable. Not sure how much longer this will be true. Wish I knew which way it was going to go -- things point to them going up, but I don't know if WotC has another bad plan to send the market into a death spiral.

and indeed, that is a big factor! will wotc continue to ignore the signals and send the market into chaos? then it’s wise just to stay away from old cards. i love my cards, regardless, but it would suck to overpay! 😬
