@@Mr.Waffullz IIRC His First Project with PGG was FH3 Hot Wheels, but I am pretty sure, although I could be *Very* Wrong here so please do not take it as Fact, only an "Educated Guess" , that FH4 Lego was when He became Chief Creative Director, as It was Still Ralph Fulton for a While as He was still on the Live Streams before Launch and up until around about Lego, when He was Replaced by Mike, making it, IMO, logical to Assume that is most likely when He became the Chief Creative Director and Ralph Fulton became CCD on Fable.
I'll put my tinfoil hat and say a theory:
The people that left PG were releasing underwhelming content on purpose so they could leave easier to make their own studio and, now that there's a new creative director, we should get better updates more often.
Makes sense even though they made plenty of decent updates throughout the Horizon games for years, new blood comes with new ideas for everyone else

i have played very little FH5 in the past few months but since update 19 i really enjoy playing again... something has definitely changed for the better in FH5, hope they continue those good updates!
I've been hyped for DLC before in this game, but never just a regular content update like this. I really hope that the streak continues with Series 21 and into Forza Motorsport
I honestly think Mike still had control over most of the stuff we're seeing finally come into the game, but I think PG is giving their last hoorah with the rest of what they have left for FH5 before Motorsport (hopefully) releases this year. Because the updates were pretty mid until the rally DLC, and now all of a sudden we're getting a ton of pretty good stuff back to back, which could last a solid few months before FM
Honestly, my best guess and theory is Microsoft is going through studios, cleaning house, and making sure that studios aren’t slacking off or are actually listening to the fans that fill their pockets in the first place. I also say this considering 343 Industries went through some pretty big lead changes. So it’s possible they’re doi the clean house, and saying “If you actually love the game and are here because this is a game you’re going to give everything you got when you work on it, then stay.”
FH5 feels so dead in player count, I remember redownloading FH4 and seeing a minimum of 15-25 real players everytime but on FH5, I was often in servers that had a few or even 0 players.
They need to boost payout of racing events in a game about racing cars racing cars should earn you the most money in my opinion .
they really should combine content between motorsport and horizon, it saves so much time, gives us more unique content, and is justifiable from a business standpoint
think we can all agree, we just want some customization across the cars. i get the value of the amount of cars stands as there’s over 500 cars in this game. but if we could rework some of the cars that are 100% used to get some maybe lip kits atleast and maybe a new suspension option named extreme low springs or coils or however u wanna word it or just give us a fully customizable suspension where we can go as low as we want, give us spacer control where we can get the fitment on par to what we want it. my opinion let’s start a convo in the comments on some ideas 🤔
Something I don't get is why they don't recycle motorsport cars like Lmp1 cars or other race cars as the community will love it and they don't need to give them customisation as they clearly don't like that.

I'm glad to hear something good has finally come out of this game. Unfortunately I just have no desire to play it anymore. Horizon 5, for me, is one of those games that both got me excited for the new xbox and contributed to my regret for purchasing it.
I don't understand why they didn't just remove the stadium and included a bigger oval with a track inside, like daytona
Some streets especially city's need pedestrians to feel more alive. They can make them like the crew 2 so you cant run over them

Lancia and Alfa Romeo are needed in this game. The Rally DLC was lackluster without the legendary Delta (Evo and S4, as well as the regular 16v).

As a person that bought the pre-release version, it was quite a sad thing to watch the supposed "new jewel" of the franchise just die within months after release, after the car pack finished it just died off, and so did I,
In fact I completely lost hope for fh5 after what the updates and how many features that were teased were just missing from the start or only in 2 or 4 cars had them, yet now with the few updates that are coming, they are turning the cat upside-down and really putting things back on their correct place and going the right way. Maybe there still is hope for fh5 after all.
Returning cars are still cool, the Galant and Impreza are awesome for rally enjoyers. We could use Alfa Romeo and Lancia, I miss them.
The devs who claimed to have left to make new studios were I bet fired for making a shitty game. Leaving is just official term for it.

To be honest, FH5 feels like a normal map expansion to FH4. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between the two other than different areas and some new cars. Maybe thats' because I don't play the game with new features added. I also guess It's hard to perfect what was already so good.
Simply put...I switched from PS to Xbox because of Forza and its dual style franchise. I.e. horizon and racing versions. In fact, when fh4 came out, I (and my gal) got a new kitten during the week of launch. His name is of course, Forza. If this title decides to jump the shark, I will as well... and not just from forza, but from all microsoft supported platforms. The cat ,however, will keep his "coolest name for a cat, ever" moniker for at least the next 12 years. It really is the best name for a cat. Jus'sayin'!
One of the recent updates fixes the wheel and makes them work better
I've played all the Horizon games, I absolutely loved horizon 4 and kept playing it years after it launched. When fh5 dropped i was super excited for it but quickly was let down. I bought the ultimate edition and played it for a month, then came back every few months to see what's new, but it was bland. Never regained that Interest that I had from the pervious editions. It all just felt like a big let down, the dlcs have felt disappointing and just haven't bothered to play it. Shame as there was so much hype behind it
Great video to put some context! To be honest, I really wanted a refund after spending 100USD on the pre order. I found the same Forza Horizon 4 but in Mexico and I think that this recicled updates made it worse. Im still facing visual bugs since day 1 (Shadows with SSAO are looking horrible, popping, random crashes, etc in a 3070/R5 5600X/32Gb RAM 3600Mhz and SSD NVME M.2 so I dont think its my pc), Im still seeing the same game and the last DLC, for me, was the only new content in all these years of FH5 life. That should be base game content as off road feels the same as it was games before. I find it not to big and way basic for a DLC. I hope that the game at least keep putting this updates with new content but I fear now for FM8 and what they said about it. This Porsches were new to FM and I thought they will be only there, now with the DPis deleted, it seems that we will get recicled content again and just a updated FM7. I wish that TDU SC makes a great debut so Playground can fear for the competition and actually do a great game.
Poor theming, it feels like Mexico upon sea... After the initial buzz it feels inferior to FH4. No Voice comms makes the world feel dead and solo. Yet it's still the most enjoyable arcade racer, I hope the future is bright and they bring it up to speed with other AAA titles.
It could be there is less people to overlap ideas and disagree over things and the remaining people have started agreeing on new things
I stopped playing 3 months after release and only touched it again when Ken Block passed and for the KB stuff in March. I'd like to play the game but there is zero reason to.

I don't have any FH game, but I consider getting Fh5 and I think as an unexperienced player, that it is a awesome game. It has such cool cars and graphic (if you have a good pc😂). I also think that it is sad that they don't give a lot of new content, but I have hope four the new update. It got the modified porsche Taycan racecar, does anybody know if you can get the car permanent? I don't know how this game works.

It wasn't a large amount, was like 6 people from a few hundreds. It doesn't really matter how many people are in the kitchen, as you don't need many chefs

To me, I really think this had to with Mike Brown’s relationship with the hire ups at Microsoft. I really was disappointed and worried about what has happened with the lifespan of the game after the launch date. Now I do understand why the game uses recycled cars but I really wished they told us when Horizon 4 was so we could understand. I really hope this update could bring a bit something new. So I hope the game could bring something for the OG fans. And please, don’t scare the OGs and make them leave.
Theres no car I wanted as much as the mission R when they showed it to the public i thought damn this thing would be nice to have in forza and thought they’d never bring it anyways, here we are few months later lol
Last time I logged in to fh5 I lost all my save data due to some glitch. I'm done with horizon till the next game is out.

4:30 I did really like some of those MG cars. Not a Chinese car guy. But those are very nice imo, definitely impressive compared to most other Chinese car brands I've seen (like they got a few interesting here and there but usually its a terrible).

I think it took the main people of pgg to finally make the rest of the team realize that the direction they are going isn’t good for the company
Weeeell… the DLC wasn’t free, so to a lot of people that just play it because they have Game Pass doesn’t really mean anything, same thing goes to every other DLC in the forza games previous and to come to the Game Pass, if you have to buy it then most of the game pass community won’t do it, it doesn’t make sense to push out the game for free to play and then paywall the DLC’s always, thus I wouldn’t count the rally DLC in it. Other than that it’s all the same but with new cars and a couple of 2.5 year old due fixes.
Bro... It's a racing game. Play it or don't. No need to overanalyze it. If you're having fun great. Maybe try out Tokyo Xtreme Racer 0 on the Playstation 2.

What is this "live service" thing people whine about? Are you all paying extra for more monthly content? What is the "state of the game"? I pop in the game and it works, I dunno what else is expected? I still play GT4 as is and I still play it 20 years after release. I kind of still look at games this way, it is what it is and I can enjoy what is there. What are you expecting? I still play FM7 and Horizon4 or 5 as single player games same as GT4, also I have no idea what this "angry and upset community" is adn where its located, are they all on a forum somewhere that I never heard of? Are you taking polls somewhere? I love the game as is, and it works without issues so I dunno what are you and this 'community" are complaining about.
I would still rather play Forza motorsport seven versus horizon five. The handling in Forza horizon five feels to arcade where motorsport feels more like Simulation

I wonder of we haven't taken it for granted that they would give us as much free crap as they have. Seems like every other game is squeezing people for their real life money for any kind of updates..it definitely seems like a changing of the guard is going on though and I really hope they can close the long gaps in updates especially with motorsport. It can't be easy to make a game this big and great quickly, especially with how much content they keep compounding on the games..
I hope these updates continue to get progressively better, this is a step in the right direction

I gave this game WAY to much time to try to improve, haven't played since the Rally DLC was announced because after a decade of playing these games (I have played every single Forza, a lot) I finally learned these games are never going where I imagined they might years ago... I'm tired of being disappointed.
They took over a year to do anything with the drift zone leaderboards that they ruined with an update that changed the scoring...

I don't mind if they brought old cars back from previous games and made them champion ship rewards. Once the update is over they are added to the autoshow while keeping brand new cars as playlist exclusive

And then only time I do the champion ships is if the new car is 80 points for the 1st two weeks. I don't do the championships as I already have almost all cars in game. So it would make sense to make returning Cars as the rewards as an incentive to do them

I think a bunch of the recent improvements were intended to come earlier but took longer to get right than expected, so I don't expect it to continue like this, but the community response, may trigger a change going forward 🤞

Na the recent improvements is because of the lazy ignorant bums that left to make a game studio that’ll probably fail. Because at the end of the day these aren’t huge changes that take months to do. I’m not counting the DLC map obviously that’s been in development I’m referring to the features and cars.
It’s crazy, 4 years ago, when Brown was hired, we thought he would be the saving grace for the series. Now he’s being blamed for destroying the whole franchise. I think him being at fault is somewhat true, and we may never see the full end of the story so, this might be the only evidence we can go of of. It’s just to coincidental that right after he leaves, the game is better now.
Nobody thought that... Horizon 3 is still considered the best Horizon, he wasn't running the show until 4....

Honestly the biggest problem with Forza for the last few years is a huge lack of story. The first Horizon didn’t have the most amazing story but it was really good, to the point where I’ve replayed it several times. It’s fun to have actual characters that you get to race against. Being the “underdog” who races their way to the top is always a fun story. Starting with a crappy car but then eventually racing good enough to unlock faster cars. Which then leads me to my next problem with the series so far. In both 4 and 5 you can immediately get the fastest cars in the game, it’s super easy to make money, and there’s no sense of accomplishment. It’s why the game feels so hollow, and sadly no amount of new cars or map updates will fill that void.
Dude.... multiplayer/convoy don't ever work AT ALL even after a haul freaking 2 years... Tf you talking about "lAcK oF sToRrY" That game was full AAA game price and still cant even create a simple and stable convoy...

Well Mike Brown said in the 10th anniversary Livestream that he wasn't in the studio since the beginning of fh4 development, so why was he even a creative director? If the team has no lead, team members aren't gonna care what they are putting out. Now that he is gone and the team members seem to have leadership they are getting things back on track.

For me it seemed like the environment seemed to evolve over the last update. Headlights of cars in a 360 burnout, looked way sharper. The way street lights look at night. Something has changed because it has a looked a a lot bette over the last month.
I mean the do need to improve performance mode on series x, or s but I don't have the S. Too much pop in. Very noticeable

That’s a placebo effect. In my opinion not too much has changed but on the rally map there are some dirt/sand textures that have been enhanced.
Still the rim color bug which is on a fair few wheels especially factory rims
My biggest problem with the game is, that it feels too empty.
In FH4 for example you had like 40-90 other players all over the map in your session. In FH5, the game just loads in and out like 1-10 in your proximity. People just constantly pop in and out of existence, you can't really casually race others on the highway. And the change from one centralized Forzathon to many small ones also was a terrible idea that they haven't corrected till this day, for whatever reason. It's pretty much impossible to find other players for the Forzathon challenges, if you need the points for the shop, you're always on your own, which just really isn't fun.
This is what killed FH5 for me. Millions of concurrent players and yet I could session the most popular spots on the map for hours without seeing anyone.
Guys, remember, fh5 is a bigger game across 2 generations of xbox, compared to the smaller fh4 on ine generation (at launch), fh5 is sadly built around the limitations of the 2013 xbox one

Hopefully new creative director is Ralph Fulton. Also for the new to Forza cars I wish we could get new Honda Civic, GR Yaris/Corolla, GR86 and AMG GT black series
the black series would've been good for the high performance update instead of the audi honestly, but the civic and grs you mention would be perfect for a modern japanese car culture update (even thoguh we had one)

Something tells me that either 2 things. These updates just took a long time with something happening behind the scene. Or 2, Mike Brown and the ones that left weren’t the people we thought they where and trying to make the game too childish.

MB was not a petrolhead and never listened to the community, the new Creative Directo is most definitely a petorlhead and is trying their damn hardest to appeal to the car community and bring players back
Hopefully with the community's feedback and the new the crew 3 and solar crown coming out, it'll push them to keep doing better. The recent updates have really good so far.
I have a feeling the dudes that left and the new games being teased are putting PGG into high gear, so now they can actually try and make proper content to fight against their upcoming competition while also letting the new people come in and improve things.

Not necessarily, FH development time has increased by one year, we might get a third expansion
Ngl I kind of want a few returning cars. The Shelby 1000, Volvo Iron Knight, Mercedes-Benz SL65 Black Series, and the missing Stellantis brands.

I'm all for new cars but they really need to upgrade the Livery/Tunes limit cause at 500 with a game with 650+ cars it's becoming an annoying problem.

i dont want to get my hope up for fh5 i mean series 19 and 20 have some awesome cars and i do hope series 21 will have some great new to forza cars and i dont mind returning cars from fh4 i just wish we did not have to do the festival playlist to get them when in fh4 we could buy them in the autoshop and the fact that they called them NEW really annoy me i still would love to see the hudson hornet back and some of the lost aston martin

Not really bud not really when cars cost on auction house 20 million. Which i had to spend to get one car i missed out on and playlist is pain in the ass like i just want to get the car and not go through hoops just to get car i want.
@@evanreyes2216 I can see where you are coming from because yes you do have to work for the cars but if you have been playing it from fh4 when it released its annoying I remember each week it was so much fun in fh4 and came from school and played it but the feeling is now dead and in fh5 its just more harder because its the same and I wont have the will to keep on racing every week for just two or 3 "new to forza" cars
One of the biggest visual bugs that infuriates me is when the rims on your car change back to their original color when you drive, but are the color you painted them when stopped, I think this bug has been in forza since fh3 (maybe before)
I'm sure its either a "old tech problem" or "licensing" issue. Take your pick, the meat riders will agree with either one.

I think forza currently is headed in the right direction. However they need to make improvements still. Such as the scoring for drifting, it should be about driving line, control, smoothness, and angle. It currently only seams to really care about wheelspeed. Drifting in horizon open should be ranked between class, and drivetrain. All wheel drive drifters are physically impossible to keep up with in points do to how forza scores drifting. They also still need to fix the offset option by that I mean give us a actual wheel offset option and not just axle width. Would also be cool if we get some sort of suspension lift kits in a sense.
They need to just copy some carx and gran turismo features

The only thing I miss honestly is being able to honk at the AI cars that were driving around and making a convoy with them when you weren't online or just cause. Could just be me though
That’s old feature in fh3 and yes i miss that too. It was kind of fun mess with ai cars in convoy

ok, I may be wrong but, what if the creative director that left was causing the underwhelming updates, and now a new one is just like "ALRIGHT YOU EITHER WANT THIS GAME TO FAIL OR YOU ARE MAKING SOME CONTENT THE PEOPLE WANT, LETS GO"
Blar blar blar, yes the four new cars I'm looking forward too, but the map is my biggest problem, is just doesn't have the same feel as older fh games, dont get me started with how badly designed the city is, that and the lack of people in a lobby, you open up fh4 and there is 40-50 people in their, every time I come out my house in fh5 and look its lest then ten, sometimes even 2 other people, I miss having a massive group of cars meeting up at the beginning of the motorway ready for a race in fh4, thats what makes the game fun!

I stopped playing the game after vocha 15 stars mandate with no way whatsoever while riding on road
I'm enjoying this. It's really nice after having crap for so so soooo long!!! But... And there's always a but, I'm cautiously.... VERY cautiously optimistic about it continuing on this level. I believe it will drop off. I mean it would be extremely difficult to keep up this kinda content month after month forever... But, will it just be a slight decline then level off so that we get not amazing but at least good updates every month or will it nose dive and go back to shite again? I guess time will tell and we can just hope for the best.
FORZA SHOULD DO THIS.
Set aside 2 maybe 3 months of not working on anything but fixing all that is broken. Attack the customers list along with fixing what is still broken left over from 4. Call it Forza’s STOP WORK AUTHORITY. We have have that option at work that any employee can call stop work if they see an unsafe act or condition as well as if they feel the job at hand is unsafe for any reason at all.
We need a vinyl and paint creator update. That would help A LOT...
And i wish the game would go to 18+ rate so we could have more wild stuff related to cars.

MS has made an E/3 Rating *mandatory* for Forza as that rating gets the Biggest sales! It is Corporate Policy, and given the *sales disaster* that befell the T/12 rated NFS Unbound (EA has openly called the Game a *Flop* !) I do not see MS changing that any time soon!
@@Tha-mountain yeah when I was little my parents didn’t care about T ratings so I think it’s the best fit, I feel like the horizon series will still sell just as well
I just love how still 90% of cars, dont have an animation for the gear changes or paddle shift movement and 99% of cars dont have a handbrake movement. Still after all this time it hasnt been fixed. Very lazy.
Unfortunately i dont think horizon 5 is going too chamge too much from where it is now. And it worrys me what the new motorsport title is going to be like because it looks exactly the same as motorsport 5, 6 and 7.... and lets be real, those games were all the same, just with a different cover car
i hope they keep going with this. i wouldnt mind if they took a 1 update break next time around, so long as the update after that is just as good as these updates have been.
This sudden change in quality is probably due to the fact that PG is getting ready-made car models from Turn 10 Studios, which were created for the new Forza Motorsport.
Personally I'm bored of the lack of new customisation options. We've had largely the same few bodykits which means that cars mostly look the same. Rims need further updates too, no Watanabe 8-spoke, no updated TE37. I wish that the devs took more inspiration from the cars that are shown at carshows like TAS.
Their hands are tied, they have licences with several High Value Car brands who are *hostile* to Car customisation, and who will remove their Licences if too much Customisation is added, so they need to space it out and check with those brands to ensure none of their "Red lines" are crossed to, as many of those brands are *Vital* for the Motorsport Reboot, ensure that MS will be able to retain those brands Licences.

tuners or muscle cars which an average 12 year old supra fanboy likes will be out here rivaling nfs unbound customization
I doubt this is true but maybe the creative director might of been holding them back? Its a bold statement but who knows
