He's so powerful. I can't get his voice out of my head. It echoes. no special effects. Raw beautiful power. the beast that is Dave Matthews Band music. It echoes.
One Dave's most intense performances and also one of the most unnoticed songs. Just blows me away every time the intensity he brings to this song. He is a vocal BEAST!!
Damn, I just love the energy of his voice and how powerful this songs sounds live. It is by far one of, if not, my favorite Dave Matthew's Band's songs ever.
not only is this song one of Dave's best live, but the buildup is incredible!!! I agree, definitely one of DMB's most underrated, yet, its one of their best!
i found this band recently cause they almost unknown in the UK. What a great bunch of musicians, Dave has an amazing voice and the songs are great.. the live sound is just fantastic, and NY is lovely, awesome combo
i grew up listening to dave matthews band and i always think of the happy songs like everyday or where are you going.....then i watched this. i was in shock and awe. the passion dave showed was unbelievable
i came to know DMB back in 1997 on my highschool student exchange in the US and fell in love with this band instantly. Back then they were almost completely unknown in Europe (i'm Polish) which made me even happier to show their music to my friends (same here, instant affection towards the group:)) I absolutely love their inner energy within the band (watching interviews ect.) and to this day their music literally lifts me up everytime i hear or see it.. just like right here right now:)
It seems as though that no one comments on the lyrics of dave's song's as much as they comment on his concerts! His songs (for rhe most part) have meaning, particularly this one and "seek up" are my favorite songs....The lyrics are where its at guys lol. I love you dave! R.I.P mr. moore!
Epic. this whole concert was, epic, man people who say they don't like Dave Matthews are people who have never actually listened to more than Crash into Me or Where are you going
I've seen him perform this song, but this video is outstanding! I just saw DMB all three nights at the Gorge and they were fricking amazing! Dave was so hot on his vocals and guitar playing, and Carter, well what can you say about Carter other than he is practically a god in the world of drumming.
i think the fact that they have teen fans shows how large their fan base is. graduating seniors in college play dmb at tailgate parties but high school kids play dmb in their bedrooms too. shit even older people love dmb. so says i
lol definitely bro.. I cover all of dave's stuff and that spot took a lot of work and I still don't completely have it down or complete control over it. I have seen these guys 8 times but never heard this one... If I'm ever lucky enough to hear it it doesn't matter what else they play that night lol
Yeah i went to Alpine last night and I am not one of those people but i saw it. I am definitely one of the people who want to see them play. I agree with you though about the obnoxious people who only want to party and they could care less about the music. I was in the front where all the cool people who want to see dmb are.
Best version ever!! And Im Agree that the whole concert is Epic. They should do it again with the actual band changes, Rip Leroy. But this version still freaks me out. and Love NY!
OK. I give up! From this moment they're Best Band Evar for me! I had my doubts before. :) They are not really my style either (rather: hip-hop, d&b, psy...) but now I'm 100% confident. I could only thank them for this song!!
@PODmasterAkatsuki He is Agnostic. He was raised as a Quaker, but the events of his life eventually lead him to question the existence of a God who actually cares about him and his actions. As a result, he is Agnostic, neither believing or disbelieving in God. He has mentioned this in a number of interviews.
I remember hearing this at the concert I went to at what is now Jiffy Lube Live (crappy venue name...) But everyone went nuts when we knew what it was. I was 'Yes!' and my friends looked at me like I was crazy.
I think this concert is one of their strongest. It's pretty tight and Dave's voice sounds really crisp yet a little rough, compared to the early days when he sounds like a boy.. ! Everyone was on their game this night, but hey, they always are !
Dave evolves into a pipe wielding vocal motherfucker at about 5:20 and reminds us all what it is to be alive. Raised Catholic I always saw zealots pretending to speak in tongues to be a sham, but this....THIS.... and Dave's performance of 'Bartender' at Folsom Field are authentic. He's in touch with something else.
Cosme fulanito? Que temazo por dios!! Esa es una de las mejores versiones que hay hasta la fecha, falta la que hicieron en virgina con la intro larga y solo de timo..
WTF?? All I'm saying is that he doesn't look as comfortable with an electric guitar in his hands as he does an acoustic guitar. That 's all. I'm the biggest Dave fan there is. I'm from VA - been following them forever. Will be meeting Dave this Friday.
He's so powerful. I can't get his voice out of my head. It echoes. no special effects. Raw beautiful power. the beast that is Dave Matthews Band music. It echoes.

six feet under feast
Damn, I just love the energy of his voice and how powerful this songs sounds live. It is by far one of, if not, my favorite Dave Matthew's Band's songs ever.
Yeah i am 15 and i have been a fan ever since i can remember. My whole family has always been a fan. There music is amazing.
i am addicted to his voice performance and lyrics.... and that Violin and Keyboards are taking the song to another level ! Hail from Greece !
This whole concert is INCREDIBLE!!
Dave Matthews is amazing! Amazing voice,& Amazing Guitarist!!
not only is this song one of Dave's best live, but the buildup is incredible!!!
I agree, definitely one of DMB's most underrated, yet, its one of their best!
this has stood the test of time as one his best and most intense performances....EVER! Pure greatness!!!
i found this band recently cause they almost unknown in the UK. What a great bunch of musicians, Dave has an amazing voice and the songs are great.. the live sound is just fantastic, and NY is lovely, awesome combo

the more I listen to this song, the more I love it.

Dave is so unbelievably under rated for his lyrics
I am blessed to have heard this song three times live. This year they intro'd with it. I cried. The rest of the night was a blur.
It seems as though that no one comments on the lyrics of dave's song's as much as they comment on his concerts! His songs (for rhe most part) have meaning, particularly this one and "seek up" are my favorite songs....The lyrics are where its at guys lol. I love you dave! R.I.P mr. moore!
Epic. this whole concert was, epic, man people who say they don't like Dave Matthews are people who have never actually listened to more than Crash into Me or Where are you going
this is by far the best song to see live... so sick...
Thank you. Finally, somebody who understands what I'm saying. I'm not putting Dave down at all.
man i been a dave fan for awhile and have never heard this one, this song f*****G rocks
I´m very excited!!! DMB is coming to town!!! (I´m From Buenos Aires Argentina!) Can´t wait till next Thursday!!!!!!!
So much intensity, i love it.
The most powerful intro i've ever heard yet pretty simple!

this dvd is a must buy!
O Sweet Jesus!
best performance of this song ever recorded
one of my favorite dmb songs ever!
probably my favorite dave breakdowns are in this masterpiece.
This is beautiful! His voice is unbelivably powerful.
I've seen him perform this song, but this video is outstanding! I just saw DMB all three nights at the Gorge and they were fricking amazing! Dave was so hot on his vocals and guitar playing, and Carter, well what can you say about Carter other than he is practically a god in the world of drumming.

one of my favorite live songs...
men, this blows your mind.
Pfft you guys are good, like a minute into the damn thing I was on the floor.
IT'S JUST SO DAMN GOOD!!!
Young Boyd passion. Strong message. Infinite sadness
Really digging this song lately. This version is so sick.

Fucking hell, that's brilliant.
i think the fact that they have teen fans shows how large their fan base is. graduating seniors in college play dmb at tailgate parties but high school kids play dmb in their bedrooms too. shit even older people love dmb. so says i
5:00 Dave went Super saiyan
Could not agree more!
The lyrical outro Phrase/melody is so bad ass.
I really never appreciated this song. But man. This reminds it really is a kick ass song. Live.
Goose bumps!
oh my god, that was INTENSE.
Me too! This song is awesome. :)
i fucken love this song. its my favorite dave song of the week. the one before that was The Stone...man, this dude is a musical genius.
Dave matthews raw is the fing best.
he'll be in boston this year... its definitly worth the drive
@PinchWinters you just perfectly described me before I saw the dvd of this concert, at which point my brain exploded out of the back of my head
At the end Butch looks at Dave like "Did that just happen..." Epic
What a piece of Art... Grandes DMB!!
I do like this song though. I was on Shuffle for my ipod, and listened to this and was like, WOW!
Yeah, both those songs are amazing.
lol definitely bro.. I cover all of dave's stuff and that spot took a lot of work and I still don't completely have it down or complete control over it. I have seen these guys 8 times but never heard this one... If I'm ever lucky enough to hear it it doesn't matter what else they play that night lol
it's not summertime without a DMB tour... :)
Yeah i went to Alpine last night and I am not one of those people but i saw it. I am definitely one of the people who want to see them play. I agree with you though about the obnoxious people who only want to party and they could care less about the music. I was in the front where all the cool people who want to see dmb are.
0:30 is pure camera magic :O amazing shot
amazing
Best version ever!! And Im Agree that the whole concert is Epic. They should do it again with the actual band changes, Rip Leroy. But this version still freaks me out. and Love NY!

this song is seriously an outer body experience for me every time I hear it.
OK. I give up! From this moment they're Best Band Evar for me! I had my doubts before. :) They are not really my style either (rather: hip-hop, d&b, psy...) but now I'm 100% confident. I could only thank them for this song!!

@51CindyL actually they started working on a new album with their old producer! hopefully we'll get to see it in time for his summer tours!
No air...bubbles...gasping
I think this concert is one of their strongest. It's pretty tight and Dave's voice sounds really crisp yet a little rough, compared to the early days when he sounds like a boy.. ! Everyone was on their game this night, but hey, they always are !
I agree 100%. Well said!
I love Butch's reaction at the very end:)
im doing the same thing, but I just dont wanna stop the song!
5:00 - 5:08 WOW!!!

I love you
Cosme fulanito? Que temazo por dios!! Esa es una de las mejores versiones que hay hasta la fecha, falta la que hicieron en virgina con la intro larga y solo de timo..
song for some reason reminds me of while my guitar gently weeps, at parts at least
He looks comfortable to me.
Dave needs to pull out that baritone guitar more often!
WTF?? All I'm saying is that he doesn't look as comfortable with an electric guitar in his hands as he does an acoustic guitar. That 's all. I'm the biggest Dave fan there is. I'm from VA - been following them forever. Will be meeting Dave this Friday.
Man i am gonna miss LeRoi's sound. I just dont think it can be replaced. :(
check out the performance from colorado new years ever ABC, it is incredible
