Hey. Since it’s been 1 year since u started fixing your hair, and since I’m just starting out in the same position. It would mean a lot if you could tell me what you did to fix your hair:D
@@_mathew_2850 disclaimer, its still incredibly draining lol. th most important things I found out are:
1. get a satin bonnet, durag, or pillowcase to protect ur hair while u sleep or jus in general. it makes a surprisingly big super noticeable difference, nd if u get a durag or smn u can also use it to cover up ur hair when u cant style it and needa go out or smn lol.
2. sectioning helps alot. Its alot hadder to section when ur hair is shorter, so if it is u might just need to deal w that lol. As ur hair gets longer sectioning nd detangling gets alot easier though, cause u can do smoother longer motions. U can also detangle a section, then make the entire section into one big two strand twist and tie it off w a hair tie. I do this so the section doesnt tangle up again as i spend my time detangling the othsr sections, nd then once in done i unravel everything nd give it quick rinse and shake (didnt realise he already said this in the video lol, mbad)
@@_mathew_2850 o and btw, in the video he uses a comb nd wht looks like a pretty rough brush. While this might work for him it absolutely does not work for me lol, i dont think id be able to run a comb thru my hair no matter how wet nd detangled it was. Id recommend u get like a detangling brush, look up "tangle teezer" and "sutra flexi brush".
I have a small tangle teezer and a brush similar to the flexi brush and they legit make my life sm easier. Obviously u dont need the exact brand jst if u find stuff similar in design and flexibility then youll be fine. (in the end though, just use what works for you.)
@@_mathew_2850 In the end, its mostly gonna be alot of trial and error before u figure it out lol. Thats okay though, just give yourself time as u learn to work w ur hair and you'll be alr. Products dont matter that much just stay away from cantu and products w sulfates or alchohol (for the most part.) If you have the time, it can also be worth it to do hair masks before u wash ur hair. Basically its just buying a "hair mask" or deep conditioner, then u apply alot of it to ur hair (be generous) and let it sit on your hair for like idk 20 mins, sometimes il leave it for like 30 lol. Then just wash it out and continue ur routine like normal.
My routine is like: mask, rinse, shampoo, rinse, conditioner, detangle, rinse, then here is the step where u can style w leave in product or anything u wanna do. Atleast thats the routine i like to follow if all goes according to plan, but its a little time consuming lol. If i protect my hair nd dont manipulate it too much, my curls will usually last for most of the week before the next wash day.
In the end, just dont rush yourself and see what works for u lol. If it gets too tiring standing there holding the comb then you're allowed to stop lol, your hair will be alright if u just rinse it and let it be, and u can detangle it and define it later if u need to. 🙏🙏

Bro haven’t taken immediate care or put a bonnet on my head since like 2-3 years ago. I honestly don’t know how my hair survived this long. I feel like finally setting time to take care of my hair would make me look more presentable and boost my hygiene so here I am learning how to finally revive my hair from the graveyard at 1:25 am lol.

@@xavigoeswild6827 it’s going pretty good ngl, I don’t have nearly as much dandruff in my hair as I used to, and while I’m still working on the presentable part I can confirm it feels and looks 200% better than before
@@babatunde7576 you should, it keep all the moisturizers you put in you hair and allows you hair to always be moisturized even when you don’t do nothing to it. Instead of feeling the shrinkage and the cackling sound when you stretch out your hair, it feels perfectly moist

I really enjoyed watching this video. This is the first and only video I've seen of you so far but I really enjoyed it and would be checking out your other videos. This reminds of back in the day of lengendary natural hair youtube vloggers like Aaron Petrie aka Long Hair Aaron, etc. It was very business-like, direct to the point with lots of great information and techniques. You didn't try to be funny or entertaining like I see people do nowadays which most often comes off as fake. You were yourself and let the content speak for itself. It was very enjoyable to watch and I hope you don't change your style to try and fit in with the masses. The right people will find you and come to you.

My brother hasn’t done anything to his hair in 3 yrs it’s so tangled,dry and nasty and he wants me to detangle it but he has so much kunk in his hair it grosses me out what do I do 😫and I do have curly hair 3c/4a
@@jahryan7 if you do want to help him try to wash some of the gunk out first the start detangling slowly but if not just tell him to cut it all off and start over its the best thing to do if you cant work through it especially because he has so much build up and dead hair munched together 😫😫💯
@@theemarixo ok so update I washed his hair and got to the scalp good bc his hair is 4c so it’s very thick and I detangled one part of his hair. It shed so much too 😂😬

@@manzg1 nah blood I'ma teen but never focused on these certain things till now because I've never grown my hair out before covid, so I never knew that I couldn't do what I would normally do with my low cut. Actually I lied, I did grow my hair out back in 7th, I just had natural twists.
