This sounds wonderful. I'd love to take a road trip to Colorado for a week and go around and load up my trunk. So many cool things going on there it seems.

100% agree that the 291 is for the Whiskey Curious! It's not like ANYTHING else out there. But also totally recognized as a Whiskey.

Kudos! You've hit your stride with the enhanced production values. ❤
Your take on this 291 offering is most compelling.
Is another barrel pick in the offering? Would be cool, as the 1st one was a hitter.

@@terrykost4677 We really appreciate that! Our plan is to have a 291 tasting event with AWS to get folks educated about the brand and what to expect, and push for another pick by the fall. Likely do a bourbon time around.

I’m loving the production and editing. I’ve heard good things about 291 but I’ve never seen it out here. Barrel proof malted rye sounds delicious! Great review! Cheers🥃🥃

Thx my friend! A lot of work went into this one for sure but this being such a tasty whiskey made it that much more fun. So when are we gonna link up for a video?

We have the 291 2020 Father's Day Rye but still haven't opened it. Seems like I should open that this year. Seems like this is one we'll need to get for sure! I'll take a bold rye any day of the week. Cheers to ya!

Yes! Especially for Father’s Day! I must’ve missed that release, bummer. Looks like I’m gonna have to break out the All Rye
Instead this year. Thx for watching and being awesome supporters 🥃

How does that compare to the Balcones Rye? Kinda sounds similar but obviously higher proof. Heading to CSprings soon and will def visit 291...cheers!

    • @WHISKEYONE

They are two different beasts of a pour, and if you’re talking about the Balcones cask strength rye that takes a certain kind of hero to ride on the shoulders of. Both amazingly good but you better have your palate ready. In final, do not hesitate to get both because the 291 has more herbal, piney and perfumey notes while the Balcones has more dark chocolate, coffee and menthe. Enjoy your trip and tell Emily Rhoades I said hi 👋🏽 Cheers 🥃💯

Your hair and whiskers have grown! I like it myself, but then my ideas of what looks good owe absolutely NOTHING to fashion, as my own videos will prove. 🙂
Howsomever, I subscribe to the channel for the content, not just for your face. 😂 I first started watching because you're also in Albuquerque, and I've stayed because you do such a good job. 🥃👍

Ha! Yes the silver wings have started to show along with the salt & pepper! You made my day with your comments, and I really appreciate ya watching. I hope to keep getting better at this, seeing as we’ve been at it a few years now. If you ever have a whiskey you’d like me to talk about just say the word. Thx for your support 🥃

@@WHISKEYONE I can't think of anything in particular just now, but then I don't know everything you've covered. 🙂 I do know that I love Balcones Distilling, and while most of their juice I can't afford, I always enjoy hearing about 'em. 🤠

@@WhiskyForBeginners Well you’re in for a treat then. We will be filming a review of single barrel picks of the 3AP single malt and True Blue by the Cult of Balcones. I did a similar one a while back of their SM picks with John Kay. This one should be fun!

@@WHISKEYONE Now that I'm sitting here actually drinking my mind is on whisky instead of other things, and I can actually come up with some things. I'm still not terribly experienced, and my budget constrains me, so these may be things you've already done, or which you've passed over. 🙂
Bluff Springs bourbon - this is an available and affordable alternative to Buffalo Trace
Woodford Reserve bourbon and Double Oaked
      Elijah Craig
Four Roses - regular, small batch, and single barrel
      George Dickel No. 12
      Wild Turkey 101
      Old Forester 100
      Old Grand-Dad bonded
      Knob Creek 9
And as I said before, anything from Balcones. I have their Texas Pot Still Bourbon in my glass right now. 🥃

@@WhiskyForBeginners This list gives me plenty to think about, and ideas we can use for sure. I’m a big fan of a few you mentioned, so I may do a comparison of budget bourbons head to head.
