I just ordered my 1st custom 3 piece suit from Hockerty because the price was phenomenal. It is for my wedding as well this summer. I'm waiting for it come in the mail. Hopefully it's a beast 🙏
Oh wow, congratulations! It's good that you did not order very close to the wedding itself in case you need alterations or a remake. I wish you all the best! :-)
Great video. Where would you suggest I look for the best price and quality suits w/Zegna, or similar quliity fabric?? I know you mention Oliver Wicks....do you have an opinion of Black Lapel. Thank you.
Does it have to be Zegna? They tend to be a bit overpriced, in my opinion. But if you are looking for quality fabrics: Pini Parma, Lanieri, Oliver Wicks, Grand Le Mar, SuitSupply and Spier & Mackay. I don't have any experience with Black Lapel.
Indeed. Hockerty is one of the best points to start and in some concerns even better than e.g. Lanieri. But when it comes to quality - there is room to improve.

Agreed. I really had good experience with their customer service and when something didn't fit perfectly, they paid the alterations without hesitation. But experiences can be different from customer to customer, I get that.
Hello, Benjamin. I find your channel very helpful; however, I am not able to access your website for an unknown reason. Has anyone else had problems with this?
Hello Jushua! I am aware of this problem. The website got hacked a couple of weeks ago and sadly I'm unable to restore the content. I will build a new site in the near future.
I've been really interested in getting some MTM shirts because off the rack isn't really cutting it (mostly they are too tight in the arms and/or too wide at the hips, if i go slim, or way too wide at the hips if not), but was kind of demoralized to find most MTM shirts are 100+€. Also, since I don't currently wear suits, the fit of the shirt is even _more_ important. I can understand paying 400+ for a good, long lasting suit, but 100€ for a simple shirt, of which I would need several and certainly won't last as long, seems way too much to be worth it for my current means. Of course I could probably get away with tailoring RTW slim fits, but that would probably cost more than my current shirts cost so it doesn't make too much sense either. So I'm happy to hear you *can* buy basic but well fitting shorts from here for around 50€, after all everyone says fit is the most important thing. So, I think I'm going to try it, probably going for oxford cotton for cold seasons and linen-cotton blends for summer. I'm definitely going to stay away from polyester blends. One thingI would really like is the choice of 2% elastan cotton blends, they really help in retaining mobility in the arms, but hopefully it won't be needed since it's MTM. The fact you pay for shipping unless you buy 3+ shirts is awkward because if it turns out they don't fit it's much worse than buying 1 by 1 and perfecting the fit each time with some feedback (also, I don't have tried and tested measurements as I've never bought MTM). But on the other hand the alteration credit might make this work.
also, I was tempted to consider the trench, but it can't possibly live up to my expectation. So I think I'd rather not get one at all than spend 200€ for one I know I won't be satisfied with. I've fallen in love with acquascutum's original trench (even more than burberry's) after seeing it mentioned by several people online, but of course that's over 1000€ and there's no way I can justify spending that much on such a non-essential item (there's no job nor social occasion that requires a trench coat). Also the current models aren't even fully in cotton anymore, you're really paying for the name there.
We are absolutely in the same boat, I always try to get the best value out of the money I am able to spend! I mostly have a very strict budget and I would not be comfortable with spending 150€ or even more for a shirt. I tried Lanieri a while ago - one shirt was about 80€ and one was about 125€, but I got them heavily discounted and the price was quite nice after that. The fabric quality and customer service of Lanieri is way better than those things from Hockerty - you get what you pay for. But if I would have 200€ to spend for 4 shirts, Hockerty would always be my way to go. In this price tier, their shirts are unbeatable in my humble opinion!
I found their CS to be quite helpful with any question that are not answered on the page. Had quite some inquiries before ordering my first sport coat, all were answered satisfactory. Concerning the lining, the solid colored ones are usually 55% viscose and 45% polyester while the more "fancy" and expensive ones are 100% polyester, so it's hardly worth the markup.

Well....how did it go? Fit, look quality? I'm nervous lol
This is useful innsofaras I was think of the wool blend (avery) from hockerty for an overcoat, but it look very lightweight
Glad I was able to help! :-)

Thanks for the review. I'm try a couple made-to-measure sites. Some look more promising than others.

@@SartorialStyles Would you say I should order my first ever suit at Hockerty? Or buy it in a Store like Peek and Cloppenburg?

Oh, no! That stinks. I am looking forward to your Hockerty article. Best of luck.
Is that the Hurley suit you are wearing? Looking to buy the same suit, looks great!
I think the fabric of the particular suit I am wearing is not available anymore, but I'm sure you'll find a great alternative! :-)

What kind of wool blends did you order? I ordered a 80/20. Wool/Terylene
Same here - 80/20 Wool/Terylene!
Which material do they use for the suit lining? Is it polyester or something breathable like rayon? Unfortunately they don't tell on their website...
I think it's polyester, but I'm not quite sure. There is no fabric "card" in the inside of their jackets, sadly.

Ich meine, alles was lässig getragen werden kann (leinen) ist OK und sitzt dementsprechend. Man kann zufrieden sein...
Finde ich auch. Mit meinen Leinenanzügen von Hockerty war ich bisher immer sehr zufrieden.
