Yes. If you overhaul and remove stator, you will need it to calibrate. (I'm told) it works on UART only. No CANBUS. The motor is not (laughing hard) powerful enough to break quality (Shimano M8000 compatible) chains. I run my Ultra at 230nm w/ Innotrace X1 Controller, so not an opinion. A fact. Yes , the BESST tool works as advertised.

my ultra had error 30 and would only run for 8 minutes. II put in a new controller correctly. It ran for about 5 seconds I heard engine but no power to wheel. Then everything powered off. I put the old controller in. It still wont turn on. I also tried new display. Do you know what could be the problem?
