Hi, I went to both. And both are amazing. Kusatsu has more diversity, it is a small towns with shops, food and dances to watch. many different hotels. Takaragawa has a slightly better accessibility and the option of mixed and tatoo-allowed baths. So it depends on what matters most for you personally.
The room I booked through Booking.com was called the 'Japanese-Style Economy Room with Shared Bathroom - Annex River View'. It was a lovely little room with a great view! 😊
Hi there! I haven't visited this onsen since this video so unfortunately I can't confirm this, however I imagine it wouldn't have changed much in the past 2 years. $17 flight to Japan is a steal!! I hope you have a great time :)
I went there last year around this time. What a majestic piece of nature the place is.
Have you been to kusastsu? If so, which of the two between takaragawa onsen or kusastu should i visit?

I know this is a video from 2 years ago, but is it still pretty much the same? I'm planning on getting that 17 dollar flight over to japan soon.
