Hello Gayle! Cute project I love to find different vintage cards. So glad the dog had a tag on to be able to the owner. Enjoyed your video and watching your process. Take care!
These are super cute.. love the off pocket.... they are trading cards I’m glad you like them, I have so much more and will definitely be making some of these pockets 😊😊❤️❤️😍😍 TFS 😘😘😘😘
Such a cute idea. Love it. It’s a great way to use up playing cards. I think there would be a lot of subbies especially new journal makers. Thanks for spending time hanging out with us! Especially on these bitter cold and icy days. ❤️
Really enjoyed this new idea with the playing cards. I also love playing cards and have lots. More fun things to do with them thanks to you. Happy valentines.
Thank you, Gayle! Lately I’ve been finding neat and unusual decks, buying them, and sticking in my craft room with no clue really how I would use them. Thanks for the inspiration!
I guess im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Christopher Zayd thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
So fun! Pulled out some cards and instead of using 6x6, cut down some children’s book pages. (As I’m working on schooldays journals). Loved the result! Thanks again Gayle for sharing.🥰🇨🇦
Wow I never thought of using playing cards for ephemera. And those pocket page ones are very adorable. I will have to try and make some. Thank you for sharing.
Playing cards are great to use for all sorts of fun things... We have even used them to create panels for accordion folded mini-journals. Great video loved watching.
I have some old playing cards and didn’t really know what to do with them, now I can use some plus use more of my 6x6 papers! I have a dollar store pokey tool with a sharp point that I use to get the washi stickers off the backing, works great. Thanks for another great video.
Enjoyed your video today as always. We had an English Sheepdog when I was a child and he was the best dog we ever had. I used to put my hair barrettes, ribbons or curlers on his head/ears. Thanks for bringing back those childhood memories.
I loved that movie too, Palmer! What a great way to use your 6x6 pads & those journal cards! I always love watching your videos & hearing about “A day in the life with Gayle” ... it’s really my favorite show! 🥰 .. thank you for sharing your ideas & life with all of us! BTW, don’t be embarrassed by your card collection, I have probably about 30 or so packs too, & yes more card ideas! ❤️🐞
Love this idea! Dog card can go into man journal too, “Man’s best friend”. I agree, pretty vintage looking cards. TYFS, Happy Crafting on your snowy days. We have a few storms heading our way again, crafting days ahead for me. 👍☃️❄️❄️❄️
I think these packs of cards would be fun! I know I'd love one. I have never seen this idea before. I love it. I recently got a package of those bigger life cards with annoying things on it as a "gift" in an order. I thought well I could cover them and use them... but this is a really fun idea! Thanks Gayle❣
I love the playing cards with the 6” papers, they are fabulous! You know I have to try at least one to put into my idea book… lol! 😊 More ideas … oh my gosh! I will never be board… lol! Have a warm cozy afternoon! Love and hugs sissy! 🤗💕🤗💕🤗
It's official: Throwback Thursday is a hit (according to ME!). What fun that was. I have a few cards, not nearly as much as you, but I never use them and this idea is fantastic. You could do a playing card day each month and that would be great, too.
These are great! The blank backs must be a matching cards game. I have been wondering what to do with all my playing cards. Thank you for so many fun ideas.
This was perfect for today since yesterday I went to a thrift store & picked up two old decks of cards. Very yellowed & perfect for these applications. Also found a couple pieces of vintage quilt scraps. Wish you would put some of your cards in your Etsy shop. I’d buy them.
I love this project! I love vintage playing cards, too, but I’ve had trouble finding them in my local antique stores. I’d buy some from you. I was also thinking that this could be a great way to use up those journaling cards that come on 12x12 paper, or atc digital sheets. I think this project has “set my hair on fire!”
Gayle, great ideas using playing cards. I too love to collect these little gems. I think putting some packs together for your shop is an awesome idea. I can’t wait!
Throw Back Thursday...great idea!! This was alot of fun...I do remember those fuzzy boxes of playing cards!! LOVED the "Penny" story(always thinking of Jimmy Joe!! 🐶💋) TYFS!! 😊💖
We finally got water usage back yesterday. There is still a large portion without water. Most excitement we’ve had in a while. Now we have freezing rain. The kiddos missed school Tues and Wed due to water. Called school this morning due to weather. No school Fri and Mon. Oma is having fun. I have a 4 yr old and 7 year old I take care of after school normally. When school is out I take care all day. Love these pocket cards your making. I don’t have many cards. Will be on the lookout at estate sales.
So much fun!! Loved how yours turned out. I've been trying to arrange my craft she shed to see and use more of my supplies. But it's very difficult and I don't like to be crowded at my work counter!! 😂 Stay safe and warm...snow is coming for us tonight thru Monday!! 💜
All your videos are so great. And interesting too. I learn so much. I'm working on an Ephemera Storage Notebook, after watching a video you did on the subject. Thank you for all the great videos and ideas!!! Austin, TX USA
I'm glad you finally have some snow, Gayle! We have 1/2 inch of ice today. I love the Glenn Miller Story! I tear up whenever I hear the Little Brown Jug because I think of that movie.
I really enjoyed this video...actually I enjoy watching all of your videos! I now know what to do with all of the playing cards I have been collecting; thanks for sharing this with us, Gayle! 💜😊
Thanks for using playing cards, I have been wanting ideas with cards. It would be fun to get a variety of cards from you on Etsy. Would love to see more ideas you might have.
I would be interested in vintage playing card, too. I did my first shared project with a group, made 10 ATCs and used playing cards as the base. So easy to keep the size uniform and a good sturdy base.
Okay, true confessions, I am a playing card junkie...cant resist them...especially animal cards in fuzzy boxes. :). I am hopeful that you can find the time to put some of your extras in your Etsy shop. Cards aside, I loved this project. Such a fun signature insert and an opportunity to use some more of the Project Life cards, (there were 616 in one box I bought!) that I am tired of making into journaling cards. Hugs and blessings Gayle, :)
I wish I had had the foresight to save my grandmothers cards that her and my mom used to play canasta with. The cards stayed in a cabinet in the kitchen for as far back as I can remember. and I used to play 21 with my grandfather When I was in grade school. That’s how taught me how to count really fast in my head. I pick up vintage cards too. I have so many of them as well.
The poor Cranky Queen didn't stand a chance next to Gayle...not only did her face get covered with tissue paper but with a rose sticker as well. All HAIL THE CRANKY QUEEN ...she be no more!!!! 👑🚫
Good morning Gayle! your dog story is heartwarming. Excellent Justin Timberlake movie, very impressive and emotional acting for both characters! I loved it! Fun throw back Thursday! great idea!!!!
Thanks for the inspiration! I made some for my upcoming journals & to put in happy mails as well. I would buy some playing card packs if you put them in your etsy store. Great craft with me video as always. Thanks for sharing with us!
I like throw back Thursday. It was fun. Plus it gave me more things to add to my idea journal. I'm doing Dee Dee Farago's TCTC so these will be great in it. Thanks for sharing.
I’m a playing card collector but most of mine I collected pre-jj and are too nice to use in journals...well at least so far 😏. Now that I do JJ I never seem to find old cards so I’d LOVE to purchase some of your cards! If I can snatch em before there gone...I never have that luck but I keep trying! Thanks so much for sharing and being so positive!
We used to have a cat that we named Penelope--and we called her Pen-a-lope when she was in trouble too-- so funny!!! When she wasn't in trouble, we called her Nelle, not Penny. LOL She has since been retired and altered and now living with a beautiful elderly woman who adores her- living the spoiled life!!!
Hi sweet Gayle, I am homebound for the next 14 days I came up positive for the virus. My symptoms aren't that bad. Just have a mild cough and fever and fatigue. Your videos are keeping me company while I can't work. Thank you 😊💓 I would love to get a pack of playing cards.

You should call Penny’s mom and dad and let them know maybe if they ever need a puppy sitter penny could come stay for a bit! I know I would love to have you closer to watch your grand puppy! Also. I think those first ephemera PCs would be super cute with the card pocket on the back part of the 6 x 6 paper as well as the one on the front. Great video, really got my imagination going. I'm a new Junk Journaler and your ideas are fabulous. I would definitely purchase a mixed pack of cards!
Really enjoyed this new idea with the playing cards. I also love playing cards and have lots. More fun things to do with them thanks to you. Happy valentines.

Thank you for revisiting the playing cards. It is nice to go back and use something that you haven't used in a while. Have a wonderful day.
Throwback Thursdays looks like another fun theme day. Scrappy Saturdays is my fave, followed by TUse it up Tuesday 😊
Thanks for the stories and company, always a good time. Perked up my day cuz I was home not feeling well.💕
Ah! Something different for playing cards! I usually end up decorating one side and just sticking them into a pocket. Thank you!

"I should put these in packs on my Etsy" Um, YES PLEASE! I would buy the heck outa a pack of those vintage and 70's cards!

The cards with the plain backs might be trading cards. We collected them in the 1950's. They were worth more in a trade than a playing card. We had 100s and sorted them by topic i.e. ballerinas, horses, flowers etc. Lots of fun.
