Natasha, if you didn’t want to fiddle with using tea bags what would you recommend as an alternative to this step... could use use stained muslin, or cheese cloth?
Natasha, I am new to junk journaling and discovered your UA-cam channel this past week. I have already viewed several of your videos and I have become a fan. Thank you for the clear instructions 😊!
I have partial decks of cards! Can’t wait to make some journal cards. These would also make cute party tags. Place setting on a formal table with guests names (if we’re getting fancy), even tags on a gift or put one at each end of a ribbon and make a book mark. So, soooo many ideas! ❤️
Oh my goodness, as soon as you cut the card and I saw the scrap, I immediately thought how cute it would look in the journal too!! They're all so cute.
When I made these I sewed tea dyed lined paper on the back, then punched a hole and ribbon. I love these for my journals. Thank you for the inspiration!
Every time I see playing cards I want to buy another pack. Now I know why. LOL. Keep an eye out for miniature cards (toy aisle at dollar stores) and enlarged ones. 😊❤
Good thing ms. ross got her comment in first, so far it is 264 lovely comments and appreciation for what you do, to one, who hasn't a clue. Just saying, keep on crafting, teaching and being yourself. Obviously, lots of folks enjoy you, your style, and you art. Not to mention the 22,633 folks who watched and most like enjoyed, admired, including the 264 who took the trouble to comment, and only one unhappy soul. We love you! Alice from the soggy SE USA.
Oh Alice, thank you SO much!!!! This community is full of amazing, supportive, beautiful people, than one disgruntled, unhappy soul can't shake my desire to create and share :)
Was looking to antique a tarot deck for prop purposes and was recently referred to this video by a crafter friend. Very nice and a lot easier to deal with than the sanding and soaking in tea that I had done so far... and gotten very little actual result from. :D
Some very clever ideas, with very clear and easy to understand instructions, which have the added benefit of your writing them out; plus you put the decorated cards together and showed us many ways to use them. Thank you for all you do.
Love this idea! I've got lots of playing cards - they are nice size and weight, are easy to get at thrift stores and garage sales for next to nothing and can be used in so many ways. Thanks for another great idea - adding the tea bag really makes a difference and I'm going to try the napkins too.
VERY clever! (: A couple used spring to mind - - "Favors"... There are a lot of people that play cards in their homes, in assisted living places, et cetera; get-togethers once a month. A 'pack' of 3-5 cards could become a little booklet and gifted to everyone as 'favors' or 'scorecards' (paper on the backs, of course). "Memory Cards"... There could also be 1 tiny item or drawing or something hidden like a tiny face on each card... 2 or 3 that match. The person (child or elderly) would go through the cards and put the ones that 'match' together. This would engage the brain... a very good memory tool, I would think. And so on and so forth... (:
Yes I am still here .....lol.... now I can use up my abundance of teabags that i always seem to forget to use, with the card booklet great idea using them as pages as well I always seem to use them for covers......ok am off to crafting now.... Have a GREAT weekend
I love all the book page cards...especially in the middle! A couple looked like misshapen hearts. Thank you for sharing this technique! I can't wait to try it!
Oh, how adorable!! I have lots of cards of different kinds and didn’t really know how to use them up.. I’ll be doing this right away!! 😊Thanks for sharing this lovely idea!!
I was thinking itty bitty booklet to add to a larger journal or mini-album. I've cut journal cards in half and used them as the covers of tiny accordion books for that purpose.
WOW!! EXACTLY what I've been looking for. I love, love, LOVE these cards and this method seems no-fail. All because of these cards and your excellent teaching manner you have a new subbie! I look forward to learning more from you soon. Greetings from the Southern California desert. 😁🏜️ 😁. MK
Natasha, I can tell you the purpose for my watching this creative video you've made, was to bring joy into my life. I have a deck of cards in a drawer that had never even been opened. They've been opened now! Love the look, it makes me daydream of long ago and far away. Oh the adventure....by the time I get finished with this deck they will appear as though they have traveled the world, even been on a pirate ship, (or something just as dangerous).") Thanks!
Thank you for making your instructions so simple. I've wanted to start making junk journals for a long time, but felt too overwhelmed. Now I've started one thanks to you!
I HAVE RECENTLY FOUND YOUR CHANNEL. I LOVE YOUR IDEAS, TUTORIALS AND HUMOR! A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I LOST MOST OF MY EYESIGHT. I HAVE NO CENTRAL VISION AND ONLY A SMALL AMT OF PERIPHERAL VISION IN ONE EYE. I DEARLY MISS MAKING JUNK JOURNALS AND EVERYTHING THAT GOES WITH IT. BUT YOU HAVE SEVERAL IDEAS THAT I THINK I CAN DO! ESPECIALLY THE COLLAGE IDEAS. THANK YOU!
Absolutely GORGEOUS ! Playing cards usually are fascinating but after this vintage process, they really have a soul, with a beautiful mystery look and this touch of magic you are so talented with to give to any project. I really love these and can't wait to make some. Thank you for sharing so generously !
THIS IS PERFECT !!! YOU ARE SOOOO CREATIVE and very pleasant to listen to. Thank you especially for writing out the steps for us in a very neat and clear way that can be copied on screen with a cell phone. We need the instructions when making these fabulous cards. Very thoughtful of you as well !!. So sorry about the GROSSLY negative comment by someone who is obviously very unhappy. You are a JOY to watch and learn from. I love your gift !! Thank you .
Fantastic! I love the idea of using book pages along the edges. And I like the leftover bits of tea bag attached to book page, which would be lovely for a collage element!
Thank you so much for your generosity as always while sharing your talent and process. I have been trying to keep up with what is going on in Australia with the fires. My heart really goes out to the people and all the creatures that are being devastated by this disaster. It may be just me, but I feel like news coverage in the US has been somewhat lacking - I would like to know what I can do personally to be of any assistance other than the prayers for your country. If you have suggestions I would be grateful to know. I honestly do not know who else to contact other than the crafting community which always seem to give of themselves so freely. Be safe and well.
Great video, I am officially hooked on gluing down teabag paper! The effect is fabulous 👌 Thank you ❤ Btw I skip putting glue under the teabag, as the moisture disturbs the pretty text fragments.
Hi Natasha, I have quite a collection of old playing cards that have been with me for years, just waiting for someone like you to trigger my imagination, and demonstrate what can be done with them to give them new life. I've been checking out many more of your videos, because I love what you do, and appreciate your clear instructions communicated in such a friendly, generous manner. Thanks so much : )
Oh my gosh natasha you are so funny..... Thanks for making me smile today. Love the project and will certainly make some of these. I am going to be laughing all day about the king and the key.....
Hello! I have just watched 5 of your videos. These ideas are fantastic!!! And doable. Thank you for sharing your techniques. thank you for producing quality videos with good clear sound and in focus images. And a BIG thank you for your instruction sheets. You are a true gift to us in the mixed media world. Happy New Year.
Natasha I made some yesterday with tissue paper from shoe boxes & love them! 🌟 One tip to share that I saw on another video: After the tissue paper/ tea bags dry, go over the edges with a sanding block (sand paper) & u get a nice smooth edge with no cutting
Loved this project Natasha - your method for showing the written notes at end of each video is BRILLIANT!! I have no memory so taking a screen shot so I have a written reference makes it so much easier for me. Love, your work and cant wait to get into all of the other videos. Thanks from one of your latest followers 🙂
Absolutely LOVE this video💖💖💖..I have so many playing cards from thrift stores😉 I am definitely doing this today..Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas💃😍🤗
Thank you for the tutorial... I love this idea very much... now I need to make a dash to Dollar Tree... lol... and, personally, I love everyone of the cards... including the ones that you didn't... gives them more character...
I really enjoyed this, I was just thinking of using cards the other day and here you are!! The book page ides is brilliant. Thanks from South Africa. 🇿🇦 🌟
Too cute. I have tons of partial decks. I bought them at a thrift store for $1. Fills a gallon zip lock bag. Perfect project for us I g them up. Love that grungy look ! Thank you for sharing.
Ok so now I need to add tea to my shopping list (I really had planed on buying it anyway but now I have an even better reason) 😀 I am already getting ideas on using these as well. Thank you once again for a great idea and tutorial. ❤️
If you want to see how to vintage up some Magazine Images, have a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/eQ0P-A1tD74/v-deo.html
This was new to me. Thank you, even four years later!
This is the coolest project I have seen for junk journaling. I tried it this evening and was stunned at the results.
I’m so glad!!!
I’ve got to start drinking more tea!
hehe Yes! Time for some tea I think :)
Me too!
Natasha, if you didn’t want to fiddle with using tea bags what would you recommend as an alternative to this step... could use use stained muslin, or cheese cloth?
I don't like tea, however in the usa a box of tea is less then $2 so I will just make the tea for the bags.
Lolololol
Thank you, I have always admired altered playing cards, but never sure what to do. I love your technique and so many ideas of how to use them.
This is so lovely! I really appreciate the simple materials used for those of us on limited budgets. Thank you💕
My pleasure! Glad you like it and thank YOU!
I LOVE this!!!! You have great tutorials and make it easy to understand! Thank you for sharing!!!!

Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching :)
Love the tunnel book idea! Telling a story appeals to me. Wondering about the weight of the paieri. And I like butterflies too, and snails.
