We do not need to produce this missile in India when DRDO is working on so many missiles and it can make similar missile as well. But it is fulfilling our immediate operational need and to that extent, this is welcome.
India immediately need to think of indigenous jet engine development, 5th gen fighter development, one additional aircraft carrier, nuclear submarine and assault rifle, all should be designed developed and manufactured in india...we are 40 years behind China, if war erupts with Chinese in present scenario, India will regret heavily.
Noway, indian armed forces are enough fit to counter and defeat chinise aggression. If courses Chinese area a great challenge unlike pakistan... but India is also a growing power and improved, getting more improvements thanks to Modi Govt..

Put them on a chopper launcher and they will not have to do the climbing part required from ground launcher.
With wings to glide range can be extended if required cket engine can be modulated to save fuel.

Planning, investment and procurement based on requirements government ko balance karni hai. Yes if army ki difficulty dur karni hai and we may contribute something on it it's an opportunity and one should pich in to help.

Rudram 2 and Rudram 3 is already went for testing...These are stop gap missiles ... Very soon Rudram 2 and 3 will be inducted
We don't have any missiles in between Rudram 2 and Rudram 3. This will fill the gap and mind you it was brought under emergency purchase during stand off with China. Now it will be made in India.
