In this age of dogfights manoeuvrability is key. Also very useful to dodge missiles, which is the primary role of su30. BVR is a Cold War era concept..

@@deltaandD7516u cant do shit with your maneuvers when enemy can down u from their border without entry your in airspace from 150 kms distance .... not saying that being agile is good or not but that not should be the priority ... priority should be radar and bvr missiles always .... this is age of technology not dogfight last air to air kill was recorded over 30 years ago...
150 km kills are wishful thinking against a fighter jet. It would take a missile 3-5 minutes at that distance to reach the target.
'It's the age of BVR' is a western concept, who have only gone against non existent air forces in past few decades.
If comparable air forces face each other, dog fights are bound to happen, and last 2 recorded air to air kills in a dog fight were in 2019, PAF vs IAF

Yes, our Su30mki is big enough to be an AWACs feat EW platform.
These would be not just Super Sukhoi but Indrajit - yes , a perfect name . Their work would be to establish a stealth air warfare umbrella for a region and via network centric data links create an absolute no fly zone using airborne and land based platforms.
The WSO's on such Indrajits should be well trained as the pilot focus on route, altitude and isolated flying.
These Indrajits should not be visible on radar and use active stealth equipment to disappear into background radiation.
Make 10 of these platforms - put two on INS Jatayu and the other in Andamans, the rest all over the nation. The rival air forces would be at tremendous odds.
Indrajit - the one who has total control over indriyas , senses was a son of Ravan who played with perception in Ramayan . He was a prime mayavi and fought in the shadow of clouds , vanquished even Lord Indra maybe. This would be a legacy call sign - any future combat platform alongside Su30mki , be it TEDBF or AMCA with EW roles should get this name.

Procuring of 250 + su-30mki an f-15 class of fighter in large numbers with technologies from Russia, india, France , Israel through license production/technology transfer/ indeginization/customization was one among the wisest decisions Iaf had ever taken more so just after post kargil experience which is what has made an iaf a premier airforce in the world.
All it needs now is upgradation/ updation of technologies to keep it a lethal combat platform in modern combat.
Not buying Rafale 2000 was a big mistake.
Rafale 2000 was much much better choice than Su30
@@randmht9976 rafale in 2000 did not have aesa radar, did not have meteor, did not have a single export order, and French airforce and marines were just on the verge of inducting costs of rafale was exponential WITH NO TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER/NO LICENSE PRODUCTION/NO CUSTOMIZATION/NO INDEGINIZATION AND THAT TOO AT A VERY VERY HIGH COST.

India needs to invest on 6th gen before its too late like 5 th gen, also india needs to invest hugely on electric sticker drones which are heard to detect.

until our engine technology comes on par with western tech, there is no point in investing R&D resources in 6th gen fighter. BTW we are working on some 6th gen features for our AMCA and tejas mk2 which is AI based landing and safety features along with CATS warrior program.

@@sid7337 bro engine technology hardly 3 to 4 countries have nailed it , even china is not good at engines, we need to collabrate with japan and france to develop 6th gen, 5 th gen we are lagging by atleast 10 years and it will take another 15 years to develop, were china will be using 6th gen, better buy 5th gen from korea for time being and invest on 6th gen.

Just imagine, the USA is already working on a successor to B-21, which hasn't yet entered into service while the NGAD is also coming by 2030 and we are still at least two decades away from our first stealth jet. We seem to show no urgency. What kind of Vishwaguru do we want to be if we are not ready to put in the money, and effort, and will at least come a generation closer to the USA? Worst yet, we still haven't retired the MiG-21 and MIG-29 and trying to upgrade the Jaguars.
