I just bought a 2000 Century 1 owner with 82K miles on it for $3100. Runs and looks like new. Wanted a backup car when my 2001 Lesabre with 196K miles wears out. To be honest I think the 3800 in my Lesabre is probably good for 250K plus. Great cars that offer good mileage, safety, and reliability. Very popular.

My uncle had a '97 gold century custom from 1997-2006. It needed a new trans, so he sold it for $500. It was an amazing car that cruised like a yacht on the highway, loved it. Now he has a 2004 Pathfinder.

dig the front split bench and column shifter and that mostly flat floor with plenty of space for the legs to spread out. the '97 and '98 models were boats but rode vastly smoother over the bumps, than the later years with stiffer anti-sway bars and higher spring rates.

I have to admit. it's not flashy, feature-rich or very powerful but this is just a fun car to drive if you drive aggressively. smooth as an e class and has more power than a new '13/14 fusion (non turbo) with about the same mpg. plus from personal experience, nothing will damage it. deers, other cars, potholes, etc.
I have one as a dd right now and it only looks good in maroon red with the chrome caps/grill.

I'm glad I'm seeing nothing but good things about it from you guys! The guy says it only has 140k miles, which isn't too bad for a v6 in my opinion. Can't beat this for 1000 bucks.

most important thing on these is to never use the dex cool antifreeze. i always have mine flushed out and i use the 50/50 all makes and models stuff. this will prevent it from eating headgaskets. just a tip.

I would love to see Mona from the WarioWare series drive around in this big beauty instead of her scooter. Imagine seeing her deliver pizzas in a friggin' Buick. Anyways, the Buick Century is one fine machine and is a great alternative for anybody who doesn't want to drive a Japanese sedan. I mean come on, this thing is more reliable than the Nissan Maxima and it's much better too. It might be an old people's car, but the Buick Century is car that is guaranteed to run great. And yes, we've actually driven inside of one, but we never owned one though.

@saabkyle04 They had the 3300 until 1997. Then they got the 3100 sfi V6. I believe it was the 2nd or 3rd generation of the 3100 at that point. I own a 1997 Buick Century with just over 28k on the odo. No. The odo didn't "roll over." NO JOKE! :-)
