I had 2 "Ria" and "Blu" and Blu died one month ago :(( He was just everything but now he's gone.. so Ria was probably depressed and that's why we got her a new friend "Oreo" and now they're both happy :>> But we still miss Blu no one can replace him :(
Here in Switzerland it's illegal to have just one budgie. You have to have at least two!

I tried keeping my budgie Asami by herself but she isn't tame and I could tell she was very lonely and I was worried she'd become depressed, so I got her a friend and now she's much happier, she almost never leaves his side

This really helps me! My budgie has lost his trust in me (even though I’ve tried to do everything right, I don’t know what went wrong)
He dosnt like me, he wants to bite me and dosnt like to leave his cage, we are thinking about getting him a girl so he isn’t depressed.
We just can’t spend 4 hours every day with him, since I have school, and my parents have work, the majority if the day he’s alone in his cage :(

I have just 1 budgie. He is very well bonded to me
I got 2 budgies, but sadly, one that looks a little like Skip called Snowflake died 5 days ago. We bought a new one as soon as he died, but he will still have a place in my heart even though he was new and was about to get tamed and bonded. Through the help of Salvador Budgie, I have bonded with my budgies in just around a month. Thanks, Salvador Budgie, appreciate it!

depends how often you are home and others, Home only 1 - 9 hours a day? 2! but if your budgies are feeling lonely, get 1 - 5 more, i would say 2 or 4
I remember when I had only one budgie and then I got him a friend and that was the end of our bonding
All he wanted to do is to be with his friend
But it shows what really ist most important for budgies: other budgie friends and thats totally natural, so you did the right thing
I've got 6 budgies and 1 was alone for a very long time. he's still very tame and the other 5 are getting more and more tame as well. it's all about spending time with them and letting them bond with ypu

Idk I prefer to keep budgie in pairs or in a flock it's kinda cruel to keep them alone

Recently my other budgie passed, due to old age (14) and one of my babies that my previous budgies had is all alone, but I don’t have a job atm, so, I make sure I’m with him all the time. I only leave for 3 hours max. Unless he’s tucked in first, but I make sure I’m there to wake him. first time I only had one budgie and I wanna make sure my babeh is happy and healthy
i tamed my budgies (8 budgies 😳) by waiting 2 weeks for them to explore their place in the cage and then i took 1 out and started to be gentle and leaving her but seeing everything that is dangerous if shes getting close to it i bring a stick and gently put her like on the side then i did that to every budgie and then i started buying a lot of toys a huge cage and millets i started taking them out training them and if the do a good job i give them millets to inspire them and i started trying to perch my finger and after 1 month their all set
I had one for a week, tamed him, got his younger brother, and the 2nd one copied the 1st and boom, tamed

I had one male that my family spent a lot of time with every day, during holiday trips he was with my grandparents who also had a female budgie.
While the female was interested and kind of invasive (going straight from her cage into his and eating his food) he was not and kind of confused and uninterested.
After two weeks he was always happy to see us but for a few days he would still be a bit pissed at us for leaving him.
He had quite a character and passed away at an age of 14
I always have had about 6 or more. They are a family.
Mine just flew away 3 days ago tried searching him but no luck...what is worst part....hear my story
So i got my budgies on 6 Dec 2021...
Owner said me they are 3 months old..i keep them played with them...i tamed the blue one....we all was living happy life...what happened 3 days ago i took them for a bath and the blue one flew away...
His partner was so terrified and i was crying so badly that one can hear...after 3 hours he came to one of the nearby trees i lured him called him but he Just ignored me and flew away....
Actually, what really happened last month i lost my grandmother and i was really busy going there that took 15 to 16 days in july i was just coming home for changing their food and water...and after coming from there i got sick that took 2 weeks of August and after that i took some exams..and i got busy studying but i was continuously reminding myself that i have to let them fly around house i have to give them time to fly...but i procrastinate...during that time my yellow budgie got feather cysts she still have it on her wing i was trying to cure it my self as there is no vet available i got some medicines form store...and my blue budgie got really bored as his friend was sick and not playing with him too so he got lonely and was trying to get out of that cage every time i was trying to change food he was trying to escape...even my dad noticed this...then 3 days ago i just planned to give them a nice bath...and clean there cage as i was filling better with my sickness....he manage to fly form a gap of 2 fingers...i just shut that door and chased him but i cant even got the clue that where he was..in which direction he flew he then came one of the nearby tree.. i called him and showed him his partner i lured him with food he was eating that mango tree leaves😢 and just completely ignored us he sat there for a while and then flew away even if i tried to catch him... that's the last time i saw my baby boy...i was so confused and so overwhelmed i saw him landing on nearby tree too but by the time i reached there he was not there...and no one saw him in that premises...
I'm now taking care of his friend till she survives that cysts...and i will end my journey of buying the another budgie pair as im a very sensitive person i get so sad instantly if i lose someone that is very close to me.....
I once bought them to care for them i decorated there home i bought toys and food... their life took turn miserablely one flew away may be died and the other one is struggling...i just cant see them like that...
Once that cage with filled with so talkative, chattering and dancing budgie suddenly got silent....that silent is so wierd that my father mother and sister and me cant even eating Properly...i dont think his friend will bear so much pain and grive at the same time...im trying to heal her but that poor baby...i just cant see her like that...tho i have a ringneck parrot he is also missing his blue friend...he also keeps entertaining her and share the food with her...i will never own birds in my remaining life it's so hard to see them suffer like this...also they need to be in flock we cant become their flock...we just cant..they should fly with their own kind no matter how good owner you are you will end up doing mistake and kill them unintentionally...
If you read it till here please try to give me a mental support that im just thinking that my life is incomplete without them....and my heart is aching..
After keeping them 3 years together i think their life comes to an end..
I think she will survive a month or tow.... that's it..
It really is better to have 2 birds.I do have 1 parrot cuz I couldn’t find a pair but I try to spend time with it ❤️

I was a great bird keeper when I was 2.
Same with lovebirds, if they are brought in a pet shop together, it's just impossible to tame them as a buyer is just a stranger to them not their fellow

Unless you're not getting tired of putting that budgie costume on every day TWO please. Bond first with a single budgie and later you can buy a mate. That will be the best compromise in my opinion 🥰 Also it depends on the personality of the budgie - some bond extremely well with humans and won't miss a mate if they have a family of attending humans around while others have in the same environment still hardly any interest to bond with humans on a bit deeper level
Also nowadays with working singles being the majority in many countries keeping a budgie alone and in cages for the bigger part of the day isn't doing the bird any real good, buy them always a mate in such a situation❤🙏🙏.

It's a premium seed mix that is also linked in my description box.
They also eat a veggie chop when they feel like it, and herbs daily.

my problem is i got 2 budgies at once without knowing. i started trying to tame them but they keep distracting each other. if i remove one to train the other, the remaining budgie refuses to cooperate. plus i can’t leave the one i took out, out for a while because i don’t have a separate cage.

One of my budgies always distracts the other when he tries to bond with me. That's what i found. Still, i think it's sad to see only one waiting whole day for you to come back and give it company. So, my opinion is minimum 2.

We always had more like four budgies most of the time, so I already feel two budgies is not enough.
They have so much more fun together when they are more.
Yes to get them tame is more difficult and some will only come if you offer them food, but I find that quite ok so. :)

We already have 3 budgies, but we don't know how to take care of them (meaning we don't really deserve them) But I am maybe getting a budgie for my birthday, is it a good idea? It's going to be upstairs, and away from the 3 other budgies, and i just wanted to know if it was possible to keep ONE budgie while it can hear others? And i will be getting another one as soon as the first one is tamed, so is it possible for me to keep a budgie that is knowingly close to three other budgies? Please answer!!
That’s just cruel..he will be able to hear the others in the house but will never get to be near them? Absolutely not!

I have seen budgies bonding with cockatiels before and even bringing female tiel out of their shell. Pretty cute thing to see!! I would love to have my birds interact with each other while I am working or away. Mind anyone share their experiences with owning both at the same time??
Edit: Decided that if I get both I will keep them separated and trained before introducing them to each other! They both need to be comfy with me first so that they feel safe with me and ready to trust me with instructions if interactions go poorly.

Hey @Salvador Budgie ! My budgie lost one of its big feathers of its wing and it won't grow back. He cannot fly and can only jump around and climb. Doyou have a solution to this? It lost its feather by getting stuck on the side of the cage when it was a baby. Please help.

Honestly,you really need get more budgies,you have only 3 which the last one (Your baby yellow and blueish green budgie) dont have a partner so get him/her a Budgie mate

I am no expert, but I believe you aren’t suppose to keep different breeds in the same cage.
