It is definitely not for everyone ❤️ it's really choosing the ability to offload over the comfort of a bigger place. Also the Tacoma doesn't have a lot of capacity, so we kind of have to go small. Thank you for your comment.
It's still evolving as we travel as our needs are changing, haha. Thank you for the kind words! we are pretty happy with what we accomplished. Also, didn't realize how unique the sliding turn-buckle doors would be!
@@justtravlin wow! Way better then what I'm getting. 10 mpg on a Chevy 2500 gas. It is killing the bank account being full-time. Been thinking about going smaller besides I've only owned Toyota trucks for the last 25 years and the reliability is unbelievable. Ty for the info.
We are happy to open up our home and show you the end result. Would you live in this camper full time? Let us know 👇 If you want to see the four wheel camper put to the test... 😉👍 ua-cam.com/video/yU79NF3SE90/v-deo.html
Thanks for taking the time! The back seats of the truck have been removed and we put a storage system in there instead. And unfortunately we cannot enter the camper from the truck. That would certainly be something we would implement on a different build, very handy
We usually have to get water weekly. Also since we didn't create a separate dirty water/clean water tank. We don't stealth camp, haha The truck isn't that inconspicuous for that 😝
Unfortunately not. They were repurposed from the original roll over couch that was initially installed that we dismantled. Perhaps they can be found at the four wheel camper facility. Otherwise we have no idea how to get them.
We figure the camper weights dry less than 800 pounds. Yes the tacoma has upgraded suspension You can see what was done to the truck here: ua-cam.com/video/d8Ug0z2j-UA/v-deo.htmlsi=Fwq6O63PnZmOrRCR
Thanks for taking the time was l to watch! The truck has the 6 foot bed, and yes the suspension was upgraded. You can check out this video to see exactly what parts were used on this build ua-cam.com/video/d8Ug0z2j-UA/v-deo.html
Nicely done. Both the video and the camper. Can you tell me what you get for fuel mileage? I'm assuming you have a V6? I'll check out your vehicle video as well. Thank you.
Hi Raven, Thank you for your comment. Our fuel mileage is about 14l/100km so not that great 😁 In the Truck video you can see the upgrades we did to be able to haul this camper. Have a lovely day and thank you for following 👍
Hi Gavin, thank you. We also did not had any experience. There are definitely some things we would do different next time (as always, right? 😅) And yes! We have lot's of storage in the cab. We took the back seats out and build it out. You can check that out in this video, if you want. ua-cam.com/video/d8Ug0z2j-UA/v-deo.html
Look forward to following your adventures. Just curious, I have a 1993 ford ranger and I’m looking at a similar camper. I see everyone has Toyota Tacoma’s. Did you have to do anything to your suspension?
Hello Mike! Thanks for taking the time to watch our video and reply. We definitely did modify our Tacoma, easier than telling you about it, we have a video that would make much more sense, I'll link it here, cheers 🤙 ua-cam.com/video/d8Ug0z2j-UA/v-deo.html
Hi. No problem! The truck bed is 6 foot 2 inches long. ☺️ So the camper is a little longer than the truck bed. There is another model of four wheel camper that is shorter and does not hang over. 👍
Hi Scott. Fwc are known for being extremely sturdy and high quality, even when they are a couple of years old. They are also very light weight and ideal for offroading and small trucks. We paid 15.000 USD for this one. Before any changes where made. We did not calculate the cost of the total build 😅
Nice build, like how your made it for what you will be doing. Did bring back memories, almost 10 years ago I build out a Hawk shell to a side dinette and build it for max storage. ua-cam.com/video/Fr_QNMewSsA/v-deo.html Now we are in our 70's and moved to a class B van, less off road and more comfort. Subscribed to watch your travels.
That is so great! We will definitely check that out. Both have their advantages. Vans are so great too! Thank you for following and have safe travels ❤️
Awesome build guys! I wish I was that minimal but had to go flatbed myself
It is definitely not for everyone ❤️ it's really choosing the ability to offload over the comfort of a bigger place. Also the Tacoma doesn't have a lot of capacity, so we kind of have to go small. Thank you for your comment.
Nice build. Amazing how you can get a kitchen, living room and bedroom in a space with less than 50sq ft!
It was quite the challenge to get it all to fit in 😊 But we are glad with the result 😅.
Very clever to repurpose the flip-over hardware and make seats instead. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! It is great, sturdy hardware 👍 you are Welcome 😅
Greta tour, really like how you customized it to exactly what you needed. Sliding turn-buckle doors are a first and super cool. Thanks for sharing!
It's still evolving as we travel as our needs are changing, haha. Thank you for the kind words! we are pretty happy with what we accomplished. Also, didn't realize how unique the sliding turn-buckle doors would be!
Great tour!!! Looks like the perfect rig for your adventure. We’re looking forward to following you on the journey, thanks for bringing us along!
Hi Jeff. Thank you for watching and we're glad you enjoyed it! It definitely is the perfect rig for us. ❤️
Thank you for sharing ❤
Enjoy & take care...😊
Great clever little adaptions!
Thank you! Which one is your favorite? 😊
Thumbs up on the rig and up coming travels.
Thank you 🤙 we're proud of the rig and excited for upcoming adventures
Nice Build Guys! How about a shower?
Our outdoor shower sadly broke. We will be making a new one ❤️ stay tuned for that adventure 😅
This video is very interesting! I learn a lot about storage in small spaces.
Thank you so much Johnny! Glad to read that you enjoyed it 👍
..... someone has to do dishes ..... I bet the someone is Travis 🤣
Hahaha in fact! Travis is the cook and Linsay does the dishes. 97% of the time 😅
Good job with your setup.Building one soon. Thanks for sharing❤. All the best in your journey
Thank you! It was a lot harder than we expected lol. Have fun with your build!
I found you on the highway to Veracruz.
Wow your rig is really cool! Thanks for the tour! Can’t wait to watch the rest of your journey!
Thank you so much! We really enjoyed making it. The journey will definitely be a big adventure 👍😊
hola...por donde estan ahora.....? en Argentina...?
One day we will be in Argentina 🇦🇷
Nice build! Have a great adventure!
Thanks Shawn!
@@justtravlinot of curiosity what is your MPG with your setup?
@@Shawn2ndaccount on average we get between 13.8 to 16.8 mpg

That being said, we are really easy on the throttle. Usually not going faster than 90km/h /55mph
We are happy to open up our home and show you the end result.

Nice rig. You guys are great hosts as well. Wishing you all the best! Subbed.
Thank you so much 😊 hope you enjoyed the video
Best I’ve seen!
That's a lovely compliment. Thank you ☺️
Nice rig and even nicer tour plan. Very curious, how will/did you bridge the Darien gap?
The plan is to put it into a container. Cheapest and easiest option. Hopefully we can share it to lower the price
Great build. Do you use the Tacoma for any storage? Can you get into the truck from the camper through a window? Thank you for sharing.
Safe travels.
Thanks for taking the time! The back seats of the truck have been removed and we put a storage system in there instead.

Great build! Curious how long 40liters of water lasts?
I love your shoe storage. Do you put anything over that when you stealth camp?
We usually have to get water weekly. Also since we didn't create a separate dirty water/clean water tank.
We don't stealth camp, haha
The truck isn't that inconspicuous for that 😝
Great video! are you still able to use the jack legs with that jerry can mount?
We would have to take off the Jerry can holder to put the Jacks back on. But we don't have the jacks with us on the trip anyway. So no worries !
very nice😍
Thank you! Any ideas that you can use in your campervan? ☺️
Do you have a link to those hinges you used for the fold up bed to seat? Great build!
Unfortunately not. They were repurposed from the original roll over couch that was initially installed that we dismantled.
Perhaps they can be found at the four wheel camper facility. Otherwise we have no idea how to get them.
I don't know if you remember me, but I was the one in a red pickup truck with a refrigerator.
I do not remember! But thank you for reaching out. Its a busy time driving back to Canada right now, haha
Lights for night? , that is a novel use of lights. 🤷🏼♂️
What can we say? We are pioneers, hahaha
.....and Travis can sleep on the floor 🤣
One year later... we never been in that position, yet. 😆 let's see what the future holds.
How much does the camper weigh? Did you need to beef up the rear suspension on your Tacoma?
We figure the camper weights dry less than 800 pounds. Yes the tacoma has upgraded suspension

Nice rig, I like it very much! A couple of questions: 1. Do you have the 5ft or 6ft long bed? 2. Did you upgrade the suspension?
Thanks for taking the time was l to watch!
The truck has the 6 foot bed, and yes the suspension was upgraded.

This well set out. It's simple and practicable.
I tend to over build things.
I take it you have a lot of items in the cabin of the truck?
Hi Gavin, thank you. We also did not had any experience. There are definitely some things we would do different next time (as always, right? 😅) And yes! We have lot's of storage in the cab. We took the back seats out and build it out. You can check that out in this video, if you want.

Hi guys, where is the shower? Did I miss it?
Hello! We didn't show it in the video but we do have an outdoor shower.
How much does that slide in camper weight?
We actually didn't get a chance to weigh it before we left. But fully loaded its probably sitting close to 900-1000 pounds (total guess)

Thank you Nick! We are driving all the way to Argentina and back (to Canada) It will be quite the journey! 😅
Sorry if someone already asked this but...how long is your truck bed?
