    I have a Pungo 12 I bought in 2013. Love the boat, the more I use it the better I like it.
    I have the original dash board and can use a Jet Boil to brew coffee on the water.

    Also worth noting is the deck on the 120 is lower than the decks on the 105 and 125, making the 120 ideal for shorter paddlers.

      The beam of the 120 is also narrower than the beams of the 10.5 and the 125. The same holds true for the Old Town Loons series, as well the Dagger Axis 12.0 is narrower and shorter than the Axis 10.5. I really appreciate how these kayak makers consider shorter paddlers that want a fast kayak.

    I have an original pungo and a new one from 2022. I have to say, i like the bow better on the old boat better. It has a finer, thinner, sharper bow. The new one is more blunt and fatter. I do like the dashboard and the factory installed knee pads. I would like to add them to my old boat.

      What other changes have you notice from the older model vs the newer one.
      Are the seats the same?
      How do they compare in the water?

    • @stevenscherry4143
      @stevenscherry4143 Рік тому +1

      @@davidmiller4594 the older one has a fabric like seat, the new one is more meshy for drying and breathability. Its not bad, i use a seat pad on both anyway. The old seat has a cup holder in the front, which is nice. The new one has the "dashboard" that clips it to the front of the cockpit with 2 cup holders, not a fan. I am just concerned a cup ir bottle might fall out. The drybox is great though. I put my car keys and phone in it.

      Do they both feel the same on the water?
      I'm thinking of getting a used one, older model, but all the reviews I see are the new updated version.

    • @stevenscherry4143
      @stevenscherry4143 Рік тому +1

      @@davidmiller4594 comfortwise they are about the same. The new boat has a higher deck height and feels like its a little bit higher out of the water. What i notice is the shape of the bow- the new boat is noticeably wider, the old boat has a profile maybe 1-1/2 inches (maybe less) compared to say 2-1/2 to 3-1/2. Currently I am at work so I dont have exact measurements. The sharper bow cuts the water better when heading upwind. The new boat is not really too much different in upwind conditions. I think you would be happy with either boat.

    • @stevenscherry4143
      @stevenscherry4143 Рік тому +1

      Also, the new boat did not have a drain plug or paddle holder. I added a drain plug for the back compartment

    The pungo 120 was completely changed, i think around 5 years ago.
    Since it is so popular, a comparison of *What* was changed would be ideal.
    Im personally searching for that onfo and cant seem to find any.

    A 6' 205 pounder would fit fine in the diminutive 105?

    • @theclassicoutdoors
      @theclassicoutdoors  Рік тому +1

      Yep! The 105 is made for smaller paddlers, but I'm 6'5" 180 and still fit in it. I am more comfortable in a 120 or 125 but it is still doable. All three boats have large cockpit openings, especially if you take the dashboard out. The 105 and 120's cockpits are 22" wide, and the 125' is 22.5" wide.

      @@theclassicoutdoors My last question is if these Pungos actually weigh as much as they say they do. They seem heavier than what they claim according to Dan Arbuckle. What do you think?

    • @theclassicoutdoors
      @theclassicoutdoors  Рік тому +1

      @@lordenoch0 I haven't put them on a scale to weigh them, but the listed weights do seem to be at least somewhat accurate. I do have to say that (in my opinion) the Pungo 105 does seem strangely a bit heavier than the other two boats. That may just be my own perception or a problem with my shoulder carrying technique combined with the different boat designs. No weight problems otherwise.

    Is there a leg adjustment area? For shorter people?

    • @theclassicoutdoors
      @theclassicoutdoors  Рік тому

      Absolutely! The Pungo has a lot of adjustment to fit all sizes of paddlers. Just like many other recreational kayaks, the Pungo has adjustable footrests that come in close for shorter paddlers and extend out for taller paddlers.
