We had a lovely day at the Eureka Mansion! We got a tour of the home, helped prepare one of our lunch courses, then got to eat the best traditional Mauritian meal!

**TRAVEL VLOG 179**
Tunes by Boubou-Dreams (Original Mix) / bouboumusic
I feel people need to visit these places now even more (post pandemic). I love re-watching these episodes. Actually learning about different cultures even if it is through food.
It's really nice to see the Mauritian traditional food portrayed there with the "Roche carri". this makes me proud to be Mauritian. We have so many things that are so unique.
I now understand why Kara is so popular. She embraces all cultures with respect and that amazing smile.
Sitting down to watch a bunch of Kara and Nate videos. Cup of coffee? Check. Some food to munch on like sticky rice or noodles? Check. Okay I’m ready to start watching!
I've recently decided to go back to the beginning and watch everything again lol. I've been eating so much more diverse foods the past couple weeks because of their videos!
I was born in Mauritius and raised in Perth, Western Australia. I'm happy that you enjoyed Mauritius food.. it's so good!
definitely not the only one that has these moments of keep wanting to eat, Kara. Me too!
I know that feeling Kara! When you're so full, but it was so good, you just want to taste it again!
Kara, you are not the only one who is totally stuffed but wants to be hungry and keep eating because the food is so good! 😄
I'm Mauritian and currently studying abroad, and your video made me miss Mauritius soooo bad! I wanna go back home!
So happy you enjoyed your trip there!
missmonde21 can u tell me what race r people there?
I need to find a man who looks at me the way Nate looks at Kara
How cool that they actually showed you how to make the food (and even let you try helping)! Looked delicious!
Kara: You're definitely not the only one; I get sad sometimes when I get full because I want to keep eating the amazing food :)
Oh you guys are leaving today!! Thank you for promoting my island so beautifully and really happy you enjoyed your stay here. Have a safe trip back 😃✌️
Always happy to see people enjoying and exploring my country 😀 🇲🇺❤ Thanks for sharing
today i celebrated independence day at school.
proud of my country.
mauritian
I'm glad you enjoyed Mauritius and the food. I miss it so much. Thanks for sharing to the world what our beautiful island has to offer!
Kara, you are not alone in that feeling!!!!
From iReland with love. The best Mauritius upload Kate & Nate! I really love Mauritius & the Mauritian food. Looks so yummy & what i have tried so far, is so good. Delicious Mauritius! :-) I really love the old fashioned kitchen & appliances, not to mention the French accents there too! Amazin!!
glad you feeling well again Kara!! keep on smiling!
looked a fantastic meal and to cook it in an old fashioned kitchen with no modern appliances over charcoal must have made it extra special! ...and no Nate it's just not a Kara thing I've often wanted to do exactly that! 😊
Mark, i live in iReland & all my Maternal Irish ancestors cooked exactly like this, but with a slight difference. They also had the open fire place going & they'd hang the cast iron pot over the fire @ varying heights, to cook the food. My Uncle Aemonn, he still cooks this way to this day & i really love the old fashioned way of life. Everything's too modern these days & sometimes, it's just nice to go back to basics. :-)
Wow!!!! amazing looking food and resorts. I love the fact that y'all make it a point to search out Street food.... Mauritius is now a big bucket list location... love you guys..
+Blue Ring Octopus you must go! We loved it there! And of course street food is a must :)
+Kara and Nate would you like to have it again?
+Kara and Nate love you guys! are you still in Mauritius?
That she can wear that white dress shirt and have not a SPOT on her after all that hard work is worthy of an award!
Kate, when i travel, i always get a tummy upset, especially in NW Europe & Asia. I did get bad food poisoning in Scotland, back in early 2000, so too, my gf. I don't think you had actual food poisoning, but more so a tummy upset with getting used to certain ingredients. The Mauritian people are very clean & the way they wash, handle & prepare their food is very good, from what i saw, many times over whilst there.
Agreed about more likely upset stomach from food not used to, as people don't generally get "a little case of food poisoning" for 1 day.
Yes, I know the feeling of wanting more food, Kara. Love all your food adventures.
I felt so happy to watch you guys, so enjoying your time & the cuisine in Mauritius. I have to admit, it didn't really surprise me, because i hear great comments about Mauritian cuisine all the time! It's one of the big advantages, when travelling to this wee Island. Just as a point of interest. The annual chefs convention is held in Mauritius annually & some of the world's best chefs fly in from around the world. Apparently, they get to cook & sample some of the world's very best cuisine. You guys are wonderful, so appreciative of other cultures & so upbeat! Keep posting, as we're all enjoying your video uploads! I can't wait to return to my homeland, for a well yearned for visit. :-)
I just love watching your adventures! I just booked my trip is Morocco, and am now considering Mauritius after watching this.

Four plus years down the road. Food that tastes so good you don't want to stop eating but you're so full you can barely move. Its not just a Kara thing.

I feel the way Kara described on one day--Thanksgiving. That's the 1 day I live to eat. The other 364 days, I eat to live. For all you eat, it's amazing you're both not 300 lbs. You impress me!

hihih i am proud to be a mauritian :) :D yummy mauritian food
Too right!! haha ;-)
are u a mauritian ?
Yes Voxy. I was born in Beau-Bassin & just like you, i'm very proud to be Mauritian. I've been an Australian citizen for many, many years though, bec i came to Australia as a toddler. I've only ever been back to Mauritius twice in all those years, so i am well overdue for a holiday there. My husband & i, would love to go there later this year & i will surely be visiting Eureka House. I remember very vividly, all the amazing resorts, beaches, people & of course, the amazing food!!! haha Some of the things i've eaten on that small Island, i've never had elsewhere & i've been to a number of different countries. The seafood is mind blowing, not to mention the texture/flavours of the homemade Italian ice-cream, prepared primarily for tourists. I could go on & on & on, but i won't! haha
I live in mauritius and the MacDonald is found at super u
Thanks a lot, my stomach is growling!!! ;)
