- Smallest Dog in The World, Her name is Hope, shes 4 months old and she is a poodle. She weighed 31 grams at birth and now she is over 4 months old weighing 11 ounces.. The world record 2 lbs , our vet says she will be lucky to hit 13 ounces;-) She is born with dwarfisim and usualy they do not survive past 48 hours.. but she's a fighter and look at her today ;-)

this guy did a wonderful job taking care of that poor little dog. he certainly did the right thing to keep her confined and keep her safe you can clearly see he can for the little puppy I didn't want her to get hurt that is an extremely tiny little dog she looks happy and I'm sure that she had a very happy life however short it was I commend him for the good care he gave to that little puppy obvious you care for her very well.

When i saw there was no follow up video, i feared the worst. So sad she didn't even make it to her scheduled update video, but thankfully, the 5 extra months she did get were with good people. I’ve got a 13 year old poodle. She was 2.5 lbs at her heaviest. Her average weight is 2.23lbs. I never realized how close she was to being the smallest dog! She was almost one before she was over 1.5 lbs. Her name is Tutti. Tutti had hypoglycemia until she was 13months old. I had to carry her in my pocket everywhere I went. She still comes with me to my grooming shop everyday I work. I remember her having a soft spot on top of her head until she was 4 or 5 months old. People fall in love with her and ask me how they can get a tiny dog like her all the time. They don’t understand the work involved in caring for them and the type of care they need to survive. The dogs have no clue just how tiny they are. Tutti has a big sister who weights just under 150lbs who is a Doggue de Bordeaux. Tutti is the top dog in my house but I’ve made sure that she is the head doggie. My other dogs indulge Tutti because I’ve brought them up to respect her for her own safety and also to allow her to be a well rounded & a happy girl that can be with other dogs yet feel safe.

I had the best "LOL" moment and truly laughed when she came running out like a tornado. I didn't expect such a spunky little thing after the intro and smiled the entire time. Then I read the comment about her passing and lost my laugh for a moment. I hope that I can go forward in life like this little pup no worrying about the trivial things.
Oh my goodness she is sooo precious and playful. I love her and will keep her in my prayers. Actually I pray for the love, health, happiness, peace, and protection of all animals everyday. May this tiny girl be healthy and happy for many years to come with her loving family who take such sweet care of her.

I was watching her play and was enchanted, but saw no other videos of her, so scrolled down and saw she died in 2013. I am so sorry ...such a precious tiny angel, full of life and curiosity....but her life was cut short. What heartbreak at the loss of Hope you must have felt. She stayed here just enough that we all fell in love with her, God be with her, and you Rodney. I know you will always miss her. God love you for helping her with so much love and patience. Hugs.

We named ours Hope too. She lived for two weeks😔 She was a cat with dwarfism though and her mom refused to feed her from birth because she knew she was different. Such a fighter that girl was.

I kept thinking it looks like it is terribly constipated. Might be why it died. I had a kitten that was born with that problem and the Vet suggested it needed to be put down.
I went back and rewatched the video. She does look a bit bloated, doesn't she? My now 2yo pup had HORRIBLE bloating and constipation when I got her as a tiny 6wk old puppy. She looked absolutely awful. A week and a half in, I was STILL trying to transition her to her new food. I finally gave up and had to do the only thing I could. A complete and sudden switch. It upset her tummy something horrible, but she finally was able to poop, and poop she did! She hasn't been constipated since. Poor girl!
Actually, I think the cameraman simply said "Facebook" by way of telling us where to follow them, not "Please poop".

ultimate gamer128 there's no different types of poodles, only difference is the sizes. Standard, miniature and toy. You can cross bread and get the doodles. So this could be a chi-poo or papi-poo. 😊 I've been around poodles all my life.

They do not have errect triangular ears at All unless they are a mutt!!!!! Real purebred poodles that the akc recognizes have floppy ears and curly hair, Now the dog in this video has straight hair but wavy pieces on it's ears, it's looks like a papillion puppy or a longhaired Chihuahua

thats not a papillion iv had one since it was 8 weeks old that pup has curly hair a pap has silky straight hair. i had my dog as a 3 lb pup and she never had that curly hair. this is a mutt part long hair chi and a terrier. no papillion here. the fur is totally different. google pap pups, you will see

Fernando Valles You do realize this dog is handicapped by dwarfism right? Thats like saying dont restrain paraplegics to wheel chairs, let them roll on the floor in freedom. Her having dwarfism effects her entire body structure and bones, they are tiny and fragile. Small falls that wouldnt phase a normal sized dog, could have killed her. Im all for dogs being able to run free, im against purse pooches, etc...except in cases such as this. Her health and well being depended on him carrying her and keeping her in a safe environment...if someone can not understand that, then there is something wrong in their way of thinking.

She just wants to play, and she isn't going to get seriously injured just tripping while on the carpeted floor

A small dog like that should not be running all over the house. Maybe it did get stepped on. It should be allowed to enjoy life as a dog, for sure, but safely. Crating a dog is good when you aren't there or sleeping.

You literally have no clue what you’re talking about. She was 5 months old, not a newborn puppy. She had severe dwarfism, so no, you did not in fact have a dog smaller than her. A dog her size especially with the dwarfism could easier hurt themselves or worse even if not stepped on if they are allowed to just run around like that uncontrolled

When I first got my Maltese, Flora, she was 7 oz. The lady I got her from said she was too small & frail to leave alone til she was 6 wks. old. I took her everywhere in a tote bag. Love your little princess.

Sorry, but I don't believe this story for a minute. The pup is beautiful, but I do not believe she's a poodle,(she looks Chihuahua) nor do I believe she's 4 months old in the video, nor do I believe she has dwarfism, as dwarfism causes the limbs to be abnormally short. This pup is "normal" in appearance. She is a little cutie though, for sure!
Mona Stone Reply is late, but just as a general FYI, there are different types of dwarfism, such as primordial and pituitary dwarfism, where everything is in proportion, just much smaller than average.
Mona Stone I brought my Chinese Crestepoo puppy to the vet last week and the Vet says, "she looks like a Chihuahua," I say "no, she's a Chinese Crestepoo, her mom is Chinese Crested and her dad is Crested/Poodle mix, but maybe somewhere down the line, lol"(I own both parents and friend's own grandparents). I look at the paperwork and X-RAYS on ride home and under Dog Breed says, "Chihuahua"......smh, some people.
